I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

@Gammeldragz I am struggling to find anything that's not high risk, where are you getting yours from? I made back £118 last night on a risk free welcome offer but I find once you've done the welcome offer ones then anything else you get sent requires deposit and wagering

misstiggiwinkle · 18/02/2019 18:38

I should say I'm using PA and whilst it's been fab for sports book I'm not finding it good for casino

titchy · 18/02/2019 19:16

I use the OM low risk community thread for casino. Never had PA so can't compare, but OM community have great guides to starting out with low risk casino. There's no guarantees though - statistically if you hit enough offers you'll make money, but it is possible to lose hundreds, so make sure you have the bank and mindset to deal with that.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/02/2019 19:46

£10 bob bingo.

Fansbet have done that £30 risk free bet before but it looks like you’ve got to get in quick.

Nestlyn · 18/02/2019 20:23

Started at the beginning of February still only with four bookies, £1,200 up. Mainly big slots wins, I won £400 on the Betfair game Big Bear, which was bet £5 get £5 in free spins. I'm finding those type of offers very profitable. I'm basically winning on the slots games every day.

Golden0ldie · 18/02/2019 22:14

Nestlyn 😮😮😮😮 wow! Amazing! Do you do offers with wagering or just those that are no wagering?

Nestlyn · 19/02/2019 07:38

I'm mainly wagering, but I don't play those games where you put down £100 to get x. I don't play the fruit or leprechaun slots, I don't seem to win much from those, I'm sure that's me being silly but I like the more sophisticated looking games, like Age of the Gods, and Big Bear, I also feel that if it's going to pay out then it will be early on in the game. I don't plough in pound after pound.

I will often round down my balance in a bookies like I had £32 in my Mecca account spent £2 on a slot called unlock the safe, won £30.

Coppermine · 19/02/2019 08:59

I came across a post on OM community, somebody focussed on low risk casino for a year and made £16k ! I can see myself heading this way once I've finished welcome offers and got a bigger bank.

@Coppermine what does EV mean with regards to Casino? I keep seeing it but am clueless. I have only just starting MB so am way off that point just yet. Just off to check my scores!

misstiggiwinkle · 19/02/2019 09:08

Right I need a new mindset when it comes to casino then! I'm amazed at some of the numbers.

I like the idea of rounding down as yes I agree with the big wins early on. I've had those but then been daft and kept playing hoping it'll happen twice and of course it never does which is why I've lost. What is EV? Maybe I should switch to OM from PA...annoying as I've really liked PA and I've been using their profit tracking too so all my info is stored in there!

misstiggiwinkle · 19/02/2019 09:15

@Nestlyn would you consider a good going forward strategy to be -

Only do offers using £20 or less own money

Offers with 10x or less wagering

Round down balances

Now, where to find these offers?!

How do you play regarding bet amount? I've been doing big bets early on to try to win big and then reducing the bets for wagering, is this a good strategy?

I really need to learn black jack - any tips?!

Coppermine · 19/02/2019 09:50

EV is expected value. There are calculators you can use to check an offer to see if it's +EV. The theory is if you keep doing +EV then eventually you should be profiting. But you have to be able to take the losses aswell which is why they suggest a big bank.

Oddsmonkey have a Blackjack strategy which is great.

I've not used profit accumulator but OM is valuable for things like that and I like reading the community pages as people explain their own strategies.

Plus you get free commission with Smarkets at the moment so it pays for itself.

Gammeldragz · 19/02/2019 10:15

Don't really know what you mean about rounding down balances? I don't do any spins that aren't part of an offer as that's just gambling and will always be negative value.

Golden0ldie · 19/02/2019 11:52

Gammel, do you do spins that might be a wager £5, get 5 free spins offer or should the focus be on a bookie email offering free spins ... though there is usually x times wagering involved there to access winnings and not too many of those, they tend to have a wager £10 involved.

My head is fried reading the casino threads!

Nestlyn · 19/02/2019 13:35

I must confess to doing a small amount of gambling and I'm not suggesting any of you should do it. The Mecca situation happened because I'd won a shared house so couldn't claim my £10 back, which meant my balance was well below what I'd started the day with, decided in for a penny and gambled the £2 in 50p's. I'm way too mean to start ploughing all my hard won money into slots.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/02/2019 16:52

£12 on bob bingo & my bet365 £100 bet arrived.

DonkeyScramble · 19/02/2019 21:06

I'm enjoying the casinos! In profit on them all, even if only by a few pence so far. I've done the Trading 212 offer too so if anyone wants a free share you can use my link:

thefavourite · 19/02/2019 21:54

No dice on the Golden Goal again!!! I've spent about £10 on qualifying losses since the start of the year! I know it'll be worth it when/if it does go in my favour, but it's a hard pill to swallow every week!

DonkeyScramble · 19/02/2019 22:45

Is anyone getting the Bet365 invite only offers e.g. bet £50 on big match for £50 FB? There was one today and one last week but I haven't had them. Since the welcome offer I've placed a few mug bets with them but have had nothing at all from them for reloads.

Golden0ldie · 19/02/2019 22:54

Donkey, I get them but only for £10. I guess my mug bets aren't big enough! Still, better than nothing.

ChakiraChakra · 20/02/2019 10:46

@misstiggiwinkle team profit's blackjack strategy is really easy to follow. I started off with instructions from elsewhere on the internet but seem tho be much more consistent with this;

www.teamprofit.com/blackjack-strategy

misstiggiwinkle · 20/02/2019 12:55

@ChakiraChakra thank you for that - I will read up on it now!

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/02/2019 16:17

£16.10 buzz bingo (£10 cashback but not sure if I wagered £10? I think I did).

Will reclaim bob stake tm and withdraw.

PeterGriffinsPenisBeaker · 20/02/2019 16:35

Can anyone help me with E/W betting? Is it reliant on the extra place win at the bookies to make money? If so, so people hedge bets by placing multiple bets on the same race to try to get the elusive 4th place if its 1-3 at the exchange?
