I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

@Golden0ldie, re Unibet:-

What about Holstein Kiel v. G Furth (G Furth to win) on 17/2 5.4/5.5 Unibet/Betfair?

Or Burnley v. Tottenham on 23/2 6.0/6.2 Unibet/Smarkets?

They might partially match just now but hopefully fully match nearer the time of the game?

Coppermine · 12/02/2019 13:07

I got the Bet365 with the full £50 offer. So with WH GG I also have a chance of early payout profits too. Big game then tonight! Shame I can't watch it on tv 😫

PeterGriffinsPenisBeaker · 12/02/2019 14:11

Can I ask how golden goal works? I've just backed Man U at Will Hill at odds 2.25 for £50 and laid at Betfair and will make around £4 loss. Does this mean that if MU lose, I get £50 steak plus some winnings back and my exchange bet wins too?

Which calculator do I use at PA? Sorry, I just can't wrap my head around it...!

Golden0ldie · 12/02/2019 14:28

thefavourite, you are a total gem, thank you. I have matches within 2 days selected on my OM filter which is why they didn’t show up. Meantime, I did get an 8.0/8.2 match on the Bolton game tonight which is better as it only ties my Smarkets balance up until tonight .. unless Bolton win!

Fingers crossed for tonight Copper.

Peter, it seems ridiculously complicated, doesn’t it. I’d love for someone more knowledgeable to confirm but you work your lay stake out first ... stake=50/(odds-1). Then you lay, having backed. If your team score, WH pay up and you can either take your chances that they will go on to draw or lose thus giving you a win at the exchange too OR you can use the early payout calculator to lock in a profit by placing another back bet but this time at the exchange.

Is this right guys? And to those who do,know what they’re doing! With the early payout calc what figure do you put in the max payout box? Is it the £50 from GG or is it what your winnings would be including stake? I’m soooo confused by this!

thefavourite · 12/02/2019 16:08

There's a great (long!) video on TP that explains the Golden Goal including early payout options. Max. bet on Man U to benefit fully from offer was £40 I think (it explains this fully in video).

I've backed and layed a French horse race today as betway were offering a £10 FB when British horse racing starts again tomorrow if you bet on an international horse race today. Odds were moving around so much that my TB ended up netting me £0.16 profit + £10 FB to come, nice!

Moplay have sent me a bet £10/get £10 FB Champions League offer and Coral seem to be giving out £2 FBs for each goal scored in CL tonight (max. 3). Between all that and WHGG, it's all going on!

I had 20 free spins at Grosevenor but bust out while wagering - boo.

Great news @Golden0ldie, Id be interested to hear how you get on, I've not done Unibet yet.

misstiggiwinkle · 12/02/2019 16:40

Did anyone get the bet365 email? I didn't, £50 fb for £50 on tonight's UCL.

HPelham · 12/02/2019 16:55

Thanks for the welcome. I am re-reading the full thread now, as I need to make sure I've understood the thread fully before investing any more money with bookies Grin. I will be back...

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2019 18:06

Matched betting is very confusing at the start, plus I imagine none of us spent time in the bookies as children so it’s all alien. My mother would have died of shame if I’d been taken to a bookies.

I got an email offering me a free £5 bet for every goal in the Man Utd v PSG game so I put £15 on PSG at coral & will lose £1.09 if it’s a bore draw (get me using the lingo).

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2019 18:07

Ooh and I won £1.47 on heart box game. Still got 200 bingo tickets to play through tm.

HPelham · 12/02/2019 18:09

Ha ha ha, Fluffy. I've never set foot in a bookie's. I'm not sure I've ever watched a game of football, either. My mum would confiscate my laptop if she thought I was "gambling" now, and I'm in my 40s... Grin

I tried doing a William Hill sign-up offer, but then failed to send them a suitable photo of my driving licence, so can't do anything until it has been manually approved in 24 hours' time. Ah well!

Am going to carry on reading now...

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2019 19:32

I’ve got photos of what I need saved on the iPad if they ask for verification. It’s called know your customer or KYC.

Golden0ldie · 12/02/2019 20:47

What’s anyone doing the Bet365 choosing fir inplay bet?

miltonroad · 12/02/2019 21:00

Normally a correct score but the odds are rubbish tonight

Golden0ldie · 12/02/2019 21:32

They were really bad odds. Anyway, my first golden goal and 2up and nothing from them. Wail.

namechangedforanon · 12/02/2019 23:33

Fluffy let me know how you do on the bingo haha I've heard of a few winners

DonkeyScramble · 12/02/2019 23:37

Tried the GG tonight, what a bust. Also cocked up a few bets by hurrying. I now have to remember to try and lay a horse race before 8am tomorrow! I accidentally backed it at odds of 12 and the lay is currently 36 so I'm hoping it improves before they start. It was a free bet so no harm done.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2019 08:56

My coral free bets have been credited from last night. I’m hoping to trade out my 212 share as well.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 13/02/2019 08:57

I'm sorry to sound like a stuck record but it still isn't going in.
Well it Is Kind of after making a mistake in playing with my wins. As opposed to free bets as I basically just broke even.
I know now that it's free bets only.

My question now that I'm struggling to get my head around. Is say each profit from a free bet is £7ish for arguments sake ( and what mine have been pretty much)
When all these free offers are done
How does it carry on?

I have plenty of time to do this and could part with a relatively large bank should i need to. However, until I understand how people make 1k a month consistently then I'll still be unwilling

1k seems the average month on oddsmonkey and I've decided this is what I want to aim for ( hopefully ha)

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 13/02/2019 08:58

I put £10 into sky casino last night as you get a week of 5 free spins a day.
I made £34 out of my £10
So withdrew and now have my daily free spins

I was pleased with that.

titchy · 13/02/2019 09:00

If you don't completely and utterly understand it £1k a month will not be achievable.

£1k a month doable if you have time, lots of time, and a decent exchange balance. William hill 5 clear, second place refunds, extra places, 2up, weekly bet club plus ongoing offers you get emailed all add up. Plus low risk casino - but there is still risk with casino.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2019 09:06

Men There’s reload offers after the initial offers plus price boosts, horse and golf extra places, accumulators.

Are you with oddsmonkey or profit accumulator? Team profit have a £1000 a month section on their website.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 13/02/2019 09:09

Thanks for the replies
I'm determined to understand it
So back to the guides for what happens after.
I'll have a look at profit accumulator too

I'm with oddsmonkey at the moment.

thefavourite · 13/02/2019 09:23

Having watched the video, I still don't understand GG/2up early payout. Please can anyone who does understand/has don't this please help me? If no-one can then I'll email TP (not a Facebook user).

I backed and layed PSG on WHGG last night. They went 1up then 2up and the final score was 0-2. So they went 1up but won the game (so I understand GG didn't come into play). However, I got myself in such a fankle trying to figure out what to do with early pay out calculator. My question is- do I only calculate early payout if my team go 1up THEN the other team score or should I do early payout (if this is the method I want to use rather than letting game just play out) as soon as my team go 1up?

ChakiraChakra · 13/02/2019 09:52

Anybody still doing bob? How is it working out for you?

I'm SO annoyed with myself, I had a pants day at work and last night I obviously wasn't in the best place mentally for working the casinos. Bust out a bet 10 get 30 offer (which I shouldn't have even attempted, wagering requirement x 20!), chased the original £10 loss (NOT how you should do it but figured I didn't mind losing a complete £10 rather than £8), won the tenner back and then spent nearly 2 hours on online chat with heart because my box rewards hasn't worked. They eventually credited me a tenner which I blew 😥 IDIOT. so all I've really lost is a bit of profit but dammit I should have got a grip.

There are a couple of different strategies with GG/2up. If you get a golden goal or 2up then the options are

  • lock in profit straightaway. You do this by placing a back bet on the exchange. The calculator helps you with what stake to put in. Downside is if your team go on to draw/lose then you've missed out on a much larger profit (but there is no guarantee that they will do that)
  • leave it to run and hope your team lose/draw. Some people do this because the potential profit can be huge (because both your back and lay bet win). Downside is if your team win then you haven't locked in any profit, and you had a QL so could be down a couple of pound. I'd say this is like a low risk strategy.

There are other strategies in terms of partially locking in profit and also only doing it depending on time of match but that gets more complex.

They do say you should pick a strategy and stick with it. I told myself I would always lock in a guaranteed profit as that what MB is all about, however last night with PSG when I actually had the opportunity I debated what to do for too long and before I knew it they scored again so ruined any chance of locking in a profit. Kicking myself now.
