I wondered if anyone out there would be interested in joining a thread for those who have recently experienced a miscarriage - a place to share how we’re feeling emotionally, physical recovery, becoming ready to try again (for those that want to), and hopefully one day positive stories of successful preganancies.

I’m 32 and recently had a miscarriage at 5-6 weeks of my first pregnancy. I was relieved to have conceived after quite a short time, because I have PCOS and was worried I might struggle to get pregnant.

My miscarriage was about 2 and half weeks ago now, and today is the first day I’ve not had any spotting/bleeding at all, and that has been a relief to feel like my body is moving on from it. I know it’s advisable to do a pregnancy test a few weeks after miscarriage, which is something I’m a bit anxious about doing as I’m fairly sure it will be an emotional thing to do.

Since it happened my sleep pattern and energy levels have been a bit all over the place. Some days I’ve just wanted to sleep all the time, which I think could be a mix of actual physical tiredness and also emotional tiredness/hormonal changes. I was back at work for the first time today, and it was helpful to have something else to focus on and motivate myself for.

I’ve restarted tracking my BBT to see what happens with my cycle returning, though I’m aware it could take a while to get back to normal. My husband and I are both on the same page that we’d like to try again once I’ve had one normal period, so I guess we’ll just see how things go and how we feel when we reach this point.

Sorry this has turned into a longer post than I expected! Anyway, if there’s anyone out there who’s had a similar experience recently and would like a place to share feelings/questions/advice it would be lovely to hear from others.

Hi ladies big oops just reading through the leaflet of impryl and basically you can’t take it with all the ingredients of ovum. I was going to take them both and have been taking all the ingredients of ovum just separately since October. So I don’t know whether to continue with the ovum and keep going or to start the impryl for a change. I’d love any advice or ideas on which one I should take.
I have a fertility check internal ultrasound on Monday to check my womb am actually looking forward to that.
I would say my period this month has been more like my periods before the Mc still not quite as heavy but definitely closer so here’s hoping.
hope you’re all having a nice weekend I’ve had another stupid migraine had one off and on since my period started so hoping it’s my body getting back to a more normal me xxx
lots of love to you all xxx

How's everyone doing? Was feeling hopeful as got to day 33 of my cycle with no bleeding, but today my period has arrived :-(

Had avoided testing so far as was worried that if I got a chemical I would be even more upset if I knew I had been pregnant, but now I'm wondering if I should do a test anyway to see if there is any trace of HCG and know if I had been pregnant at all, or if my cycle has just got longer (third period since surgery, last cycle was only 25 days...). But my resting heart rate had also increased for a few days then started falling yesterday so maybe I was pregnant briefly? Should I test?

And we'd been so good at having sex, 12 days in a row, only stopped because husband fell ill but I assumed I had already ovulated a few days before that anyway so wasn't worried about stopping at that point. Not that I do any ovulation testing so maybe not?

Urgh, so frustrating and disappointing. And if I had been pregnant the timings would have worked perfectly with our summer holiday plans in terms of fitting around important ob-gyn screenings etc.

@Chocolatebean Intersting re taking both Ovum and Impryl at the same time, I guess they must have a fair few similar ingredients so not to take too much of one.
I'm just starting taking Ovum - 3 a day is a bit much though, I much rather getting all my supps in at once.
@YearoftheRabbit23 Sorry your period has come, it's always so rubbish :(

I'm on CD9 (i think) of my new cycle so just checking BBT and OPKs on the easy at home app and have started DTD every other day since yesterday until my peak.

I had a bit of a blow out at the weekend, but felt so hungover and rubbish yesterday I definitley won't be doing that again. I just hope I'll be pregnant again soon enough and then it's not even an option.

Chocolatebean · 13/03/2023 10:55

@SMG1992 apparently the antioxidants in oven contraindicate the ingredients in impryl, typical I’m going to stick with the ovum until I decide what to do.
ive had a blowout too this weekend not drinking just eating absolute crap I’ve had a rubbish headache for a week which I think may be hormone related and my period lasted 6 days I’m kind of hoping this is my body having the clear out it needed.
afm am going for a private ultrasound tonight just to double check all my bits I’m up in NE and haven’t found anywhere that does a saline scan as that sounds brill. I’m feeling a lot less desperate to concieve this month am enjoying gutting my house lol.
@VillageFete how are you doing xxx

I'm currently feel broken to go through another miscarriage, this is my second miscarriage, my first miscarriage was in December at 12 weeks pregnancy baby stopped growing 9weeks and 2 days , for this one I was in cyclogest 400 but unfortunately I miscarried again , IDK what happening to my body , but does anyone has an experience with miscarriage while on progesterone?

TheBirdintheCave · 13/03/2023 11:56

@Atii Yes I was on it from when I first started bleeding in my last miscarriage. It didn't help me either. I think it would only help if the bleeding was being caused by low progesterone. It can't do anything if the problem is chromosomal (which mine both likely were).

Atii · 13/03/2023 12:17

@TheBirdintheCave sorry for your losses, did you convince again ?

TheBirdintheCave · 13/03/2023 12:37

@Atii Not yet unfortunately. My last miscarriage was confirmed on Dec 30th. I've had one normal AF since then but in this current one I got really ill with Strep A and it's thrown me into an anovulatory cycle :(

kookyelephant · 13/03/2023 12:39

@Atii I too miscarried for a third time whilst on progesterone.

Are you concerned your miscarriage was because of that?

Hope you're ok x

Atii · 13/03/2023 12:45

We are in same boat , hope we have healthy pregnancy ❤️

Atii · 13/03/2023 12:46

@kookyelephant Sorry for your losses, what was your miscarriage cause ?

The remains of my third miscarriage are currently being analysed and I'm undergoing tests to see whether there is anything wrong with me currently

I don't have a reason as to why they have happened x

Chocolatebean · 13/03/2023 12:54

@Atii I’m so sorry for your losses. I too was on progesterone but I had already started spotting I think it just delayed things for Me a bit. I kept taking the progesterone until the mc was confirmed and then I opted to have medical management stopped progesterone straight away and took the misoprostol and the rest went pretty much straight forward xxx

Sorry for your losses , did you invest in your miscarriage cause ?

VillageFete · 13/03/2023 13:06

@Atii I’m so very sorry. I have a few IVF friends that miscarried whilst on progesterone. Sometimes it’s just a chromosomal issue with the embryo and nothing could have prevented the miscarriage. It just sounds like absolutely rotten luck.

@Chocolatebean Hey! On my way to London. Tomorrow is my saline scan. I’ll definitely update you. What time is your Ultrasound this evening and what CD are you? X

So sad , do they have a successful pregnancy after miscarriage?

Chocolatebean · 13/03/2023 16:24

Hi @VillageFete that’s brill you have your saline scan tomorrow got everything crossed you get the news you want xxx
my scan is 7pm tonight am a bit nervous.
Fingets crossed for both of us xxx

Chocolatebean · 13/03/2023 17:05

@VillageFete im cd 8 xxx

VillageFete · 13/03/2023 18:17

@Atii They did! Thank God. Whilst i’m still waiting, my 2 friends that sprang to mind have had success post miscarriage. One has her baby and one is 20 weeks and just had her gender reveal. There is hope, I promise you. You will get there x

@Chocolatebean Keep me updated. Praying all goes well x

VillageFete · 13/03/2023 18:18

@Atii One is still waiting for success, but it was her only embryo that she miscarried and so she is back at square 1 with egg collections

SMG1992 · 13/03/2023 18:31

So I got this today. I’m 8 weeks post MMC and have just literally finished a heavy period. Perhaps it was actually an early chemical?
may tests got back to negative about 3 weeks ago.
im so confused! I only tested as something made me feel sick today which I found weird.
I called the doctor who gave me the midwife’s number but they’ve gone home.
ill try again tomorrow.
such mixed emotions right now but fairly sure this is just another trick my body is playing on me

@SMG1992 Oooh! It's not necessarily bad news. One of my friends from another thread had this exact thing happen and is now 13 weeks :) Fingers crossed for you!
