I wondered if anyone out there would be interested in joining a thread for those who have recently experienced a miscarriage - a place to share how we’re feeling emotionally, physical recovery, becoming ready to try again (for those that want to), and hopefully one day positive stories of successful preganancies.

I’m 32 and recently had a miscarriage at 5-6 weeks of my first pregnancy. I was relieved to have conceived after quite a short time, because I have PCOS and was worried I might struggle to get pregnant.

My miscarriage was about 2 and half weeks ago now, and today is the first day I’ve not had any spotting/bleeding at all, and that has been a relief to feel like my body is moving on from it. I know it’s advisable to do a pregnancy test a few weeks after miscarriage, which is something I’m a bit anxious about doing as I’m fairly sure it will be an emotional thing to do.

Since it happened my sleep pattern and energy levels have been a bit all over the place. Some days I’ve just wanted to sleep all the time, which I think could be a mix of actual physical tiredness and also emotional tiredness/hormonal changes. I was back at work for the first time today, and it was helpful to have something else to focus on and motivate myself for.

I’ve restarted tracking my BBT to see what happens with my cycle returning, though I’m aware it could take a while to get back to normal. My husband and I are both on the same page that we’d like to try again once I’ve had one normal period, so I guess we’ll just see how things go and how we feel when we reach this point.

Sorry this has turned into a longer post than I expected! Anyway, if there’s anyone out there who’s had a similar experience recently and would like a place to share feelings/questions/advice it would be lovely to hear from others.

Morning all,
I'm sorry to see so many of you are feeling so down and drained with the process at the moment.
Take care of yourselves and know that you won't always feel this way and things will start to look up.

It's an absolute emotional rollercoaster! I was feeling so down and out last week but am feeling slightly brighter this week. I think I'm ovulating (flashing smiley on CB) but like mentioned above post MC my body is still not really feeling my own and I don't know what to trust.

Hi everyone, I've been quiet on here for a while but reading. I am 8dpo today but I actually think 9dp0 and I just tested and got this result. I'm not seeing things right?

@38andtrying Aww, congrats! Definitely a line there :)

38andtrying · 01/03/2023 16:44

@TheBirdintheCave hope it gets darker and stays, we all know a line doesn't mean a baby. Thanks and let's hope we are all sharing good news soon x

Fairylight102 · 01/03/2023 17:15

@38andtrying Congratulations! Fingers crossed for you ❤️

@Chocolatebean I will definitely have a look impryl! I'm willing to try any supplements, silly smoothies and TTC myths that are about 😂

You're SO right about feeling like time is running away. I saw a post yesterday that said this cycle is the last cycle to be able to have a baby this year and that's when it hit me that I won't even have a baby in my arms this year! Even if we do (hopefully 🤞🏻) conceive again xx

Omg @38andtrying that looks amazing for 8dpo. Have you got any symptoms xxx 🤞🤞🤞
@mollibu im gutted I always see my cardiologist in December so last time I saw him he said next time I see you you will have your baby so this is my last shot to have a baby to take when I see him this year. I feel exactly the same as last month so I’m 98% I’m out 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Have a google about impryl let me know what I think. I’ve been having a blueberry, kale, spinach, Greek yog, super green powder since October oh and pomegranate juice everyday and I don’t think it’s done a bloody thing except reduce my migraine 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️and my bank balance 😂😂😂. I’m amazed my skin isn’t a light shade of blue the amount I eat 😂😂😂

38andtrying · 01/03/2023 18:06

@Chocolatebean symptoms extremely tired and a bit breathless, I have had tingly boobs on and off too lol id say tiredness is the main one ive noticed

Chocolatebean · 01/03/2023 18:43

@38andtrying congrats! Keeping everything crossed for you! Please keep us updated, I love hearing everyone’s positive stories to remind me it’s possible x

VillageFete · 02/03/2023 09:17

@38andtrying Oh wow!! I see a beautiful line! Keep us updated. So pleased for you!

I was 38 last week and am starting to panic! I’m 44 days post medical procedure and no period (Although I have PCOS and my periods are irregular but I usually have a bleed by at least day 42)

I’ve been very teary the last week - hormonally I feel it’s coming. My concern is though that 4 week’s post procedure I was having some strong period like pain but obviously didn’t bleed. This has led me down a rabbit hole, Googling Asherman’s etc.. and now i’m terrified that I could have it?

I did scan on day 21 post procedure, all looked ok, no sign of ovulation and no retained products. Lining was 9mm.

I think i’ll just freak out until period arrives, it’s been 6 weeks and 2 days post procedure? I’m terrified it’ll never come. I can’t seem to find anyone whose period took this long post MC surgery 😕

Chocolatebean · 02/03/2023 10:34

Hi @VillageFete I’m so sorry this is happen to you as ashermans wouldn’t stop you ovulating and you would still have periods so it’s probably nothing to do with that 🤞. I wish I could give u answers but all I do know is that most of us in here have definitely not gone back to the way we were before the MC even though I have periods they are super light and I have no symptoms the way I used to everything has changed I’m not convinced I’m ovulating at all also my cycle length has changed literally everything has changed which has convinced me I won’t get pregnant.

have a look into accupuncture as apparently it can get your cycles going again and other little miracles I’m starting it myself 14th March.
im sure our bodies and minds are still in shock and we just need a little bit more time but that’s the last thing we need isn’t it 🤦‍♀️.
does anyone know if gel nails contain lots of nasties that we shouldn’t have in our system when ttc I love my nails but guessing they are probably a no no xxx

VillageFete · 03/03/2023 08:59

@Chocolatebean I’ve been having weekly acupuncture since December 😫

I suppose I need to be patient but it’s 3 and a half years of trying for this baby and I’m massively running out of patience.

What makes me sick and so angry is that before this pregnancy i’d had 2 saline scans, hundreds of ultrasounds and also a hysteroscopy to check all was ok with me (IVF patient) Everything was apparently “Beautiful” and now i’m so angry with my body for this miscarriage, because I feel as though the surgery has potentially fucked all of my hard work.

Isn’t it all so unfair? My cousin (very close to her) Is pregnant with baby number 2. She is devastated as she doesn’t feel it’s the right time for them. Why does it work that way? 😪

VillageFete · 03/03/2023 09:07

Oh and @Chocolatebean Yes, unfortunately the ingredients in the gel nails have endocrine disrupting properties, and you’re advised to steer clear if you can. Ridiculous, I know. Feels like we can’t bloody do anything!

I’m so fed up. I’m on a hen do tomorrow and am getting absolutely bladdered and going to have as much fun as I can. I just feel so down this week!

Chocolatebean · 03/03/2023 09:23

Hi @VillageFete it absolutely f……..ing sucks. The whole bloody thing.
yeah I’m with you in the fact that before the mc every thing was perfect but since it everything is so different and it just feels like it can’t get pregnant I keep telling myself it’s only 3 cycles since it happened but that’s quarter of a year I don’t really have. To add insult I’ve woke up with period pain this morning which will make my period even earlier than last time so my cycles are shortening every month. My low temps have dropped even lower so I know I’m out this month not that I had any hope whatsoever.
we won’t be eligible for any nhs help at all, I am thinking I should probably find somewhere that will check levels etc to see what’s going on but at the same time does it take time for the body to sort itself after the mc? Also I know the stress of it all is probably the worst thing for it but how the heck do you stop that?
enjoy getting bladdered, I haven’t drank alcohol for years ( migraine) but I think I may have a glass tonight. I’ll have a glass then remove my beautiful gel nails 😂😂😂😂.
i have started to massively de clutter my house it’s my therapy at the minute
our impryl arrived yesterday we both took a tablet last night so let’s see if that can work some miracles for it’s price 😂😂😂😂

SMG1992 · 03/03/2023 11:24

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of a panic about ovulation/ lack of it. My CB est started flashing last Sunday and is still flashing today (6 days). It says if it flashes for more than 9 then it's unlikely that you'll get the LH surge and probably won't ovulate.

I was so excited when I got the flashing smiley last Sunday, it felt like things were moving in the right direction and timings, now I'm panicing that I'm not even going to ovulate this month. I don't track my bbt and haven't had any signs of ewcm. It's my 2nd cycle post mc but I ovulated 2 weeks straight \after the mc so it's not making any sense.
Very confused :(

38andtrying · 03/03/2023 11:58

My tests are getting stronger thank god, told my husband and obviously we are so delighted but now we have a whole host of other stresses. We're going to try and focus on other things for a while to try snd make time speed up, impossible I know.

I am just so grateful to be having this second chance and hope I can have a healthy baby to hold at the end of it.

Girls you will all be on here telling this story very shortly, I dont know your real names but you're all in my prayers xx

@VillageFete @SMG1992
I don’t know if you’ve already tried it or if you don’t want to take medication but Letrozole helped me when I didn’t have a period/ didn’t ovulate. ImI wish I had found out about it sooner but I only got it prescribed when I went private, I tried acupuncture/ reflexology etc to try and start my ovulation but it didn’t work. I didn’t ovulate because of amenorrhea and it was probably caused by too much exercise, my body is super sensitive to all kind of stress. Once I started ovulating I could stop Letrozole and by training less and eating more my hormones are balanced. It might be worth looking in to it?

SMG1992 · 03/03/2023 12:24

That's fantastic @38andtrying ! Enjoy the feeling and try to relax :)

Thanks @Travellingislife I'm still going to try and keep positive the next few days but then may look into other options so will definitley explore letrozole.

VillageFete · 03/03/2023 12:25

Hi @Travellingislife I have this at home! But it’s to be used for my embryo transfer (having a modified natural transfer where you ovulate on your own) I just need my bloody period to
come post surgery. It’s really stressing me out!

@38andtrying Amazing! Massive congratulations lovely 😍Can I ask did you have surgical management or medical management?

Travellingislife · 03/03/2023 12:35

@VillageFete ah I see! When I didn’t have a period I got prescribed progesterone to start my period so I could start taking Letrozole as there was no chance my period would start on its own. If you’ve had periods before and it’s just after the loss it’s been irregular I’m sure it’ll start soon. The waiting game is so hard though!

38andtrying · 03/03/2023 13:54

@VillageFete I had surgical management on 5th December, first period in Jan, second period 5th Feb x

Chocolatebean · 03/03/2023 14:49

@38andtrying that is a beautiful strong line it certainly looks like it’s a super sticky one 😁😁😁. If you don’t mind me asking and it’s fine if u don’t want to answer did your periods feel like they used to before the mc, mine are lighter and shorter my cycle has just totally changed. Please stay on here and give us updates you are giving us all hope ❤️.
@Travellingislife if you don’t mind me asking what type of private dr did you see for the letrozole, did they do any tests before they gave you it? How are you feeling any news on the IVF xxx
