@Badlydrawngirly oh lovely what an awful time you’ve had of it, I was also positing on here from the hospital after my ERPC. It’s pretty surreal to think about now. I hope you’re home safe now and being looked after? Xxxx

dippyegg32 · 17/02/2021 06:07

I'm sure you've all already heard of this and I'm just late to the party but apparently folic acid can really screw up cycle length. Have any of you experienced this?

AMS19 · 17/02/2021 07:40

@dippyegg32 not me, no. Maybe I've I've lucky but I ovulated CD13 last cycle and CD11 this cycle and was actually taking extra folic acid because it helps egg quality. Please get loads of foliate from my food too!

dippyegg32 · 17/02/2021 07:53

Ah that's good to hear @AMS19 I'm not sure it affects timing of ovulation but read that it can lengthen the luteal phase. CD26 for me, cycles are 22-24days usually and I started folic acid a week ago. Clutching at straws I think!

Jujujuberry · 17/02/2021 08:34

@dippyegg32 I haven't heard that, but my GP said I should take folic acid while we are trying, because the baby’s spinal cord forms in the first 6weeks of conception and folic acid is paramount in this. My cycles are around 22-26, so similar to yours.

Badlydrawngirly · 17/02/2021 08:44

Hi everyone

I wanted to do a quick update to say I’m home and out of pain. I had amazing care yesterday which made a difficult day much harder. I in the ‘relived it’s over’ stage which I know is temporary and I’m expecting the grief to hit again soon. I had a cry on the way down to theatre as everyone was being so lovely and I realised that the pregnancy was actually going to be over. It was sad to read the report that my uterus was the size expected in an 8 week pregnancy. By my dates I was 9 plus 4 and the baby stopped growing at about 6 weeks (although we found out at 8 weeks) and so when the Dr asked me how far along I was I really had no idea what to say!
I am cautiously optimistic about getting some advice about next steps and I’m going to take it day by day and not rush myself on going back to work or even getting out of bed.
I’ll reply properly to everyone later!
Thank you for all your kind words and support, it really helps to know I’m not the only one going through this. My nurse said they’re seeing women in the same piston every day. Life is cruel that there are so many of us going through this.
X

PlantMummy87 · 17/02/2021 09:12

Thanks @AMS19 and @TheHotelCalifornia for the kind words. Am feeling a lot more positive today, just had an off day yesterday.

Ah @Jujujuberry it was me that said about the crafting projects to keep busy 😊 I finished this yesterday to pass the time and put me in a better mood.

PlantMummy87 · 17/02/2021 09:22

@Badlydrawngirly so sorry to hear about all you've been through. I hope you are able to get some rest at home. Absolutely do not rush yourself and take each day as it comes. Sending you lots of love xx

Ralala · 17/02/2021 09:58

@Badlydrawngirly please be easy on yourself and rest up

PlantMummy87 · 17/02/2021 09:59

I just wanted to ask, what supplements (if any) do you guys take?

I'm taking a fertility supplement, a vegan omega 3, 200mg of co enzyme q-10 (thank you to whoever suggested the 3 for 2 in Superdrug), and started taking Myo-insitol powder which has added folic acid this month as worried I wasn't ovulating as it was so late, not sure if it was a coincidence or if it helped but will see next month. My partner takes a multivitamin, omega 3 and co enzyme q-10 but 30mg instead not sure if he should be taking more too?

Is there anything else we should also be adding in? We do eat very healthily and both exercise regularly. @AMS19 I saw you mentioned drinking POM juice is that all cycle or just before ovulation?

I started reading SMEP book last night so I'm sure they will be some suggestions in there too when I get to that part.

Ralala · 17/02/2021 09:59

@TheHotelCalifornia thank you. Yes hubby is looking after me. I will get there

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/02/2021 10:26

@PlantMummy87 Ooh that kit looks good for the rainbow, where is it from?

I only take folic and vitamin D. I also take iron supplement but thats unrelated to the fertility dtuff!

Ralala · 17/02/2021 10:28

@PlantMummy87 folic acid . To be fair I generally have a good diet but take folic acid when TTC

Ralala · 17/02/2021 10:31

Still no AF for me. Had some spotting on cd28 but it came and went very quickly. Cd31 now so 4 weeks 2 days post mc. Doctor said she to let her know after 6 weeks. I hope it comes before then. I had a negative pregnancy test about cd 15 from memory.

PlantMummy87 · 17/02/2021 10:42

Thanks @TheDaydreamBelievers and @Ralala that's really helpful.

@TheDaydreamBelievers the kit is from Etsy, from a shop called This Happy Post. They have loads of colour combinations to choose from which is nice 😊

Sorry to hear you are waiting @Ralala on your period to come. My fingers are crossed for you that hopefully it will come some and you'll be on a fresh cycle.

AMS19 · 17/02/2021 11:01

@PlantMummy87 I take pregnacare before conception and 400mg of Ubiquinol. My husband takes wellman vitamin each day.
Pom juice is good for the lining so I've had it from CD4 until potential implantation, so in my case CD19 or so. But it won't do any harm drinking more of it, it's also great for egg quality too

@Ralala my period was only spotting. Didn't even need to use a pad. Was basically 2 days of spotting but classed it as a period anyway

@Badlydrawngirly make sure you are cuddled up with a duvet, some chocolate and netflix binge! What you've been through is awful, take your time to heal ❤

Ralala · 17/02/2021 11:07

@AMS19 it was one episode of browny spotting when I went for a pee. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I wasn’t inspecting the toilet tissue every time I pee haha

AMS19 · 17/02/2021 11:08

@Ralala okay probably not a period then. And I know that feeling, I'm now 6DPO and checking constantly!

OP posts:
Ralala · 17/02/2021 11:10

@AMS19 I’m soooo desperate for my AF. I feel like it’s the first step in properly moving forward. If that makes sense.

Ohhhh 6dpo!!!! Hoping the next week goes quickly for you xxx

Applecrumble24 · 17/02/2021 11:37

Hi ladies
Has anyone had test results back from erpc? Mine was sent off for histology due to "significant products of conception" ?? Its been 4 weeks tomorrow and I've not heard anything

AMS19 · 17/02/2021 11:54

@Applecrumble24 how far gone where you? Significant comment intrigued me. As mine was my first loss they told me I'd only gear back if it was molar x

Scottishskifun · 17/02/2021 11:58

@Badlydrawngirly glad your home definitely take it easy and each day as it comes.

I had my first counselling session this morning. It was bloody hard but feel it helped.
My counsellor pointed out that I was being very tough on myself, expecting to be able to just get through it and deal with it myself and my expectation on myself to move on. It wasn't til she said that it's still very early since and very raw that I realised how hard I was being to me. I expect to feel better because friends ask but reality is that its 6 weeks ago, I'm still suffering from the trauma and adding pressure ontop of that to "get back to normal"

So I'm going to take it slower, try to deal with it rather than the current situation of numb or uncontrollable emotions and be easier on me!

dippyegg32 · 17/02/2021 12:03

@Applecrumble24 histology results just confirmed it was natural pregnancy contents ie non molar. I didn't know they could be more precise?

Applecrumble24 · 17/02/2021 12:05

@AMS19
Yes, I was concerned about that too.

I should have been about10.5 weeks on the day of surgery but the scan showed baby stopped growing at around 8 weeks after previously seeing heartbeat at 6.5 and 7.5 weeks.
I asked the nurse what "significant poc" meant and she said that I could have been further along than they thought or it was larger than they were expecting. I really have no idea. I just want to know 😔

Applecrumble24 · 17/02/2021 12:07

@dippyegg32 how long did your results take?
