Periods after medical miscarriage

Hi, I think I'm about to go insane! I underwent a medical miscarriage after discovering a MMC on 08th July, I was 9 weeks by my dates but the sac was around 7 weeks. I eventually miscarried on the 17th July and got a negative PG test on 09th August.

My period showed its head on the evening of 16th August but literally for 24hrs!! I have had nothing since until yesterday evening when I had some brown spotting and again today some pinky brown spotting on wiping!

I'm so confused as to what my body is doing and I feel so out of control. I understood the first period after a miscarriage would be normal flow or heavier, but this has been practically none existent. Has anyone else had a similar experience? This MC was my second PG, the first ended in TFMR back in November at 15 weeks 😥 I just want to know when we can TTC again as I am 35 at Christmas and getting panicky about getting older!!

Any words of wisdom ladies? It's really starting to get to me xx

@StEmilion colonoscopy is booked for Tuesday, iv got a scan before and after to check baby is OK, need to start prep on Saturday though after my covid test not looking forward to any of it haha

Im not a good hungry person at all! Haha

Wils85 · 04/02/2021 09:43

@StEmilion thank you lovely. I'm going to look at accupuncture when we are out of lockdown 👍🏻

@Cornflake24 my friend just had a colonoscopy, a week ago I think, she's not pregnant but she said it actually wasn't as unpleasant as she was expecting it to be. Easy for me to say I know, but I hope that brings you a little reassurance about the actual procedure. Xxx

Thanks @StEmilion we DTD every other day from CD 10 and then got my peak on Monday so have DTD 3 days in a row. I feel like I've def ovulated now so just waiting for my temp to spike.

I feel alot calmer at the moment we've done everything to the letter and taking lots of supplements so keeping my fingers crossed that this month is our time. Trying to plan things to distract me over the next 2 weeks but we should find out around valentines day.

Glad you got to see your little one on a scan @StEmilion I'd definately do the same we never got to see a heartbeat last time so praying next time that we do.

Cornflake24 · 04/02/2021 10:11

@Wils85 I will be sedated for the actual colonoscopy so not worried about that more the 3 day restricted diet and 1 day of fasting I'm dreading haha that and the risk involved

Nellie5115 · 08/02/2021 16:50

@Cornflake24 hope everything goes okay tomorrow with the colonoscopy and that it's all over as quickly as possible for you.

Cornflake24 · 08/02/2021 17:04

Hi all,

Not good news, waiting on biopsy results but she's fairly sure I have bowel cancer at 32. I will need to have a CT to check if I have any other tumours and then take it from there.
Doctor told me my health comes before baby but they will do all they can to keep us both safe

Wils85 · 09/02/2021 15:10

Oh my darling girl, my heart is broken. I am so very sorry, I have no words. Please know that we are here for you, whenever you need us. Sending you all the love in the world xxx

@Cornflake24 I'm so sorry to hear this my heart sinks for you and I have no words.

Anything we can do for you just say.

Life is so cruel it makes me so angry :(

Have they given you any indication of next steps or any timescales for more information?

Cornflake24 · 09/02/2021 15:36

Waiting on a CT scan now and biopsy results coming back, assuming no spread they will deliver the baby by c-section and remove tumour at same time. If its spread then its likley to be a more difficult decision

smarty4 · 09/02/2021 15:40

Oh lovely, I'm so so sorry. When you are ready we are here for you to talk, rant, cry. Huge hugs xx

Wils85 · 09/02/2021 16:07

@Cornflake24 then we will keep everything crossed for the best case scenario for you chick. Like @smarty4 says, when you are ready and need us we are here xxx

StEmilion · 12/02/2021 07:42

@Cornflake24 thinking of you, how are you feeling?xxx

Cornflake24 · 12/02/2021 08:39

@StEmilion thanks I'm actually fine about it all cant worry it away and until we know next steps I'm kind of just dealing with it don't see point in getting upset or stressing lol

StEmilion · 12/02/2021 08:47

You're so strong! Do you know how long the wait is for ct scan and biopsy results? X

Nellie5115 · 12/02/2021 09:50

@Cornflake24 I really admire you for that strong attitude. I just hope you get some more answers soon so you can plan your next steps.

How long do you have left until the little one arrives?

Cornflake24 · 12/02/2021 11:31

@nellie5115 I'm 16+2 so due end July. Will likley be earlier if they so c-section I'd imagine. Will just wait and see what happens, my priority is little one and my husbands is me so all bases covered haha.

How is everyone else doing, anxiety, appointments whats going on?

Nellie5115 · 12/02/2021 11:40

@Cornflake24 not too far from halfway which is exciting have you started feeling any movements yet.

I'm currently 2 days away from predicted AF my boobs are sore and swollen at the moment which happened last time I was pregnant and ive had mild nausea for the last 4 days as well as my temp being slightly higher than usual.

Trying not to get my hopes up too much and hold off from testing. Usually my BBT would start dropping 2 days before AF so going to see what happens tomorrow. Want to be hoepful that this is our time but also know how big the crash of disappointment can be if its not. :/

How is everyone else?

Wils85 · 12/02/2021 14:22

Hi ladies, here we are again on our Friday catch up.

You are amazing @cornflake24, you are so strong. I've been thinking about you but didnt want to pop up too soon. I was going to post later to check in, with it being Friday and all, but @StEmilion beat me to it! Hopefully you will find out more soon so you can at least understand what your next steps are and get your head around them. Sending you lots of love.

I have everything crossed for you @Nellie5115 it all sounds good so far! Keep us posted. How have you found BBT? I'm tempted to give it a whirl again but i always get up and go for a pee in the early hours (4/5ish) so its would kind of screw the readings i think?

Nothing new to report here, well, i say nothing, i had EWCM again this cycle followed by a strong +ive OPK yesterday morning, so i'm taking positives from that. Got quite excited when i got the EW stuff as this is only the second time i've ever got it! We've been DTD inline with SMEP as we should, whilst trying not to get my hopes up for this month. Still heard nothing from the Fertility Clinic. When I rang they said that if we hadn't heard by mid-feb to call back. So i'll give them a buzz next week if we havent heard anything.

I may have mentioned this before, but i feel a bit of a fraud as we can conceive. To me the clinic is for those couples who can't even get pregnant and I feel like i'm taking up an appointment that i'm not entitled to. I'm also concerned as we havent had any tests done by our GP, just a cold referral (as it were) to the clinic. I've read online most couples have some tests done at their GP before they go? I have also read that the first appointment might be tests and scans etc but then if another referral is required it could be another long wait!!! Urgh! I just want to be pregnant with a sticky bean!

It was our EDD on Monday for the MMC in July, so that was a strange day. The couple that announced their pregnancy the week we were going through the medical management had their baby last Friday. I feel meh about it, it was always going to be rubbish, just because of the timing, i'm just glad it wasn't on Monday, that would have been harder to swallow.

Do you lovely ladies have anything planned for this weekend/Valentines?

OP posts:
Cornflake24 · 12/02/2021 14:47

@Wils85 EDD will always be hard to matter what I think. You are more than entitled to your appointment!!!! It's not just for those who can't conceive there are loads of reasons people go and sooo much they can do! I have a friend going through it who can't conceive but I also have a friend going through it who accidentally fell pregnant and ended up eptopic. It's not all IVF there is loads they can do. So don't go in thinking like that!

@nellie5115 my boobs killed me in my last 2 pregnancies and they haven't even been a little tender this time, none of my symptoms have matched at all haha

Nellie5115 · 16/02/2021 16:22

Hi ladies I'm hoping you can help as I'm going out of my mind!!

AF was due yesterday and still hasn't arrived and I am now nearly 2 days late. I am never ever late even after the MC my cycle pretty much went straight back to normal.

I started getting some small amounts of spotting Sunday until today but literally tiny amounts barely visable and I've got a dull ache throughout the day in my uterus. I've just done a pregnany test and got a BFN.

Has anyone else experienced this? My temp is still high and my boobs are definately larger but not as sore so all signs are pointing to pregnancy but no positive!! :(

Last time I was pregnant I tested 2 days after AF due date and it came back positive but there is nothing not even a faint line. I never experienced any spotting with my last pregnancy either. :(
