TTC after miscarriage

Hello Ladies

Please give me some hope and confidence. I have been through a miscarriage recently. Had d and c and then retained products. Had to wait for my first af 9 weeks after d and c. Now in the last scan I was told that almost everything is gone except that of a very very small 8mm tiny bit left which will eventually come out in the next cycle. Doc has asked me to wait for just one more cycle to ttc. Somehow in the length of this whole episode which dragged for 3 months now, I feel very hopeless and scared to death about ttc. I really want to hold a baby and have a second child. I sob everyday endlessly alone. There is no one to talk to, I have no sibling or close friends and lost my mother 2 years ago. I am a full time working women and it takes a toll on my emotional health. I am terrified and abosultely scared to death to go through this emotional pain again. When I was going through miscarriage this forum has been my single strong support and I have come back again to get some hope from you lovely ladies. Please help

Trying93 · 19/03/2020 10:53

So I just need to vent and write this down.

Had spotting yesterday and got mild cramping today. Was meant to be chilling out this month but AF came the day I moved house so I've counted it back and today is CD25. Feel like AF is on her way and my cycles have been 32 days+ the last few months. Last month was 35, could a long cycle make this one shorter? Dunno whats going on :(

dm14 · 19/03/2020 20:01

@Trying93 my cycles have been all over the place too it's hard to track now so your not alone on that one.

How's everyone coping with this Coronavirus?
Such a scary time! Xx

Trying93 · 20/03/2020 14:37

@dm14 it's been 9 months since my mc thought things would settle down but seems like it's getting worse.

I do an "essential" job so I'm pretty much not affected. Just getting on with life but less socialising. How are you coping?

Lottieloux · 20/03/2020 15:07

I work for an airline so it’s been awful. Not sure whether to put ttc on hold till we know if I’ve definitely still got a job

Trying93 · 21/03/2020 19:34

@lottieloux that's a shame, fingers crossed for you

Hoppyhops · 23/03/2020 07:15

Hello ladies,
Just wondering if I could join you? It’s been a rollercoaster of a week. I had a BFP - first pregnancy- on a clearblue digital last Sunday- estimated about 4-5 weeks pregnant. Had to tell my boss on Weds due to the whole coronavirus thing & because I work in a school, they sent me home.
However, on Saturday the bleeding started. I bled all day with mild cramps and then spotted yesterday. Phoned out of hours and they said they can’t do anything, just see if it stops. It has stopped now but I did another 2 tests this morning and both were BFNs. I knew deep down anyway - I cried all day Saturday so it didn’t feel too shocking to see it this morning.
What do I do now? I’m still having some pain on my right hand side, no more bleeding... I phoned the midwife to arrange my booking in appointment last week so should I call her to just confirm everything? I feel deflated.

Trying93 · 23/03/2020 13:23

@hoppyhops sorry to hear your going through this. Did they offer to scan you? I thought they done that to check everything has came away naturally and you dont need any treatment.

Yeah just phone them and explain the situation. I'd mention the pain to them especially if its bad.

We're all here for you 💜

Hoppyhops · 23/03/2020 13:36

@trying93 Thankyou so much. I got in touch with the midwife and have been to the EPU this morning. Scanned, tested and confirmed early miscarriage. I had pretty much come to terms with it so it was just peace of mind that it’s not ectopic or anything nasty.

I really would like to try again when things settle down but they didn’t really give me much guidance on that. Then part of me thinks perhaps it’s irresponsible given what’s going on in the world at the moment but I really want a baby. Anybody else feeling the same?

Trying93 · 23/03/2020 14:13

@hoppyhops thats good you know its not ectopic, nothing worse than worrying on top of coming to terms with your loss.

The guidance is usually you can try again after you stop bleeding but its recommended you wait till you have 1 period because they use it to date the pregnancy. I think it's more about when you feel mentally ready.

I know where your coming from and I thought about stopping trying but this could go on for months and months. I've been trying nearly 2 years and had 1 mc, and I think the chances of me getting pregnant are probably slim anyway. What will be will be. Theres millions of women pregnant all over the world already and they are just getting on with it.

Winkle2020 · 23/03/2020 19:58

@Hoppyhops hello dear really sorry to hear that and my heart goes to you, Please stay brave and don’t give up on trying

@Trying93 my cycle was 32, 30 and staying 30 again but I was like clockwork before I think body takes times to re adjust give it some more time and see

Hoppyhops · 24/03/2020 06:57

@Trying93 Thankyou for the guidance. They didn’t explain any of that to me in the hospital so that is good to know. And yes, sensibly put about the world right now. I’ve also been trying for a while and this was why I felt so conflicted but you’re right- many pregnant women are coping.

@Winkle2020 Thankyou. I’m taking comfort in the fact that it was very early & we have time to keep trying. Got to wait for my periods to kick back in properly now, but my cycle is always all over the place so may take some time.

Winkle2020 · 24/03/2020 15:10

@LittleGem638 hello Littlegem how you doing ? How many weeks are you now ? You are my motivation 😊 hope the little bub is ok

LittleGem638 · 24/03/2020 15:30

Hi @winkle2020
I'm doing okay, I had some issues last week with my pregnancy symptoms all but disappearing so I had a scan at EPU, there was no heartbeat at that point but the midwife said this is fine as I was only measuring 5-6 weeks but that everything was where it should be. My pregnancy symptoms have come back a little bit but I have a follow up scan tomorrow so fingers crossed I will hear baby's heartbeat :)
I am currently working from home for the next 11 weeks eye roll which is not fun but is necessary for baby.
I will keep you updated tomorrow after the scan :)
Glad I can be your motivation and I hope this group quickly fills with BFPs!!
