TTC after miscarriage

Hello Ladies

Please give me some hope and confidence. I have been through a miscarriage recently. Had d and c and then retained products. Had to wait for my first af 9 weeks after d and c. Now in the last scan I was told that almost everything is gone except that of a very very small 8mm tiny bit left which will eventually come out in the next cycle. Doc has asked me to wait for just one more cycle to ttc. Somehow in the length of this whole episode which dragged for 3 months now, I feel very hopeless and scared to death about ttc. I really want to hold a baby and have a second child. I sob everyday endlessly alone. There is no one to talk to, I have no sibling or close friends and lost my mother 2 years ago. I am a full time working women and it takes a toll on my emotional health. I am terrified and abosultely scared to death to go through this emotional pain again. When I was going through miscarriage this forum has been my single strong support and I have come back again to get some hope from you lovely ladies. Please help

@notalwaysalondoner yes you're right 😬 symptom spotting is never a good thing. And to be honest when I got my BFP I had no idea until AF was late and didn't notice symptoms meant anything until I was looking back in hindsight. We had only DTD once that month as we'd decided to hold off due to the virus. Absolutely typical isn't it. One time and not trying and it happens but all the other months of timing and trying and it doesn't 🙄. I started 2 days after the bleeding stopped. I had an ultrasound (suspected ectopic) and it was confirmed there was nothing retained and also had blood tests to mine was a bit more straight forward (natural MC too)

Hoppyhops · 11/06/2020 14:05

Ahh thanks @IndieMorg it’s difficult isn’t it. Trying to stay positive though. I had a long chat with one of my best friends and feeling so much better now Smile
Sounds like you have some interesting symptoms- what I would say though is try not to do too much symptom spotting (I know it’s virtually impossible though) as it could be that your hormones are still settling after MC. I only know because I drove myself mad doing the same thing. Xx

@notalwaysalondoner I think it’s best to wait for a negative PT but, to be honest, I think you can just try when you feel ready- there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to go about it, just what you feel comfortable with. We started DTD again after the bleeding stopped- not actively trying but not being careful about it either.

Any news on the blood results @Bailee26 ? Still got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Bailee26 · 11/06/2020 17:32

@IndieMorg we started after the bleeding, all though I probably wasted a ton of money testing for pregnancy and trying to get a BFP again, it really messed with my healing process.

@Hoppyhops no results yet. told ya they were the slowest office on Earth 😂😂😅

Bailee26 · 11/06/2020 17:33

(my miscarriage was medically managed with cytotec 3 weeks after I was diagnosed with a MMC because we waited for a NMC)

Bailee26 · 11/06/2020 17:37

Sorry that comment was meant to for @notalwaysalondoner.

@IndieMorg definitely trying not to symptom spot myself. Anything can be pregnancy could also be the dreaded AF

Hoppyhops · 11/06/2020 19:22

@Bailee26 You weren’t kidding! 😂 Keep us updated when you do hear anything 😃

Bailee26 · 12/06/2020 13:33

@Hoppyhops well my update is : inconclusive lol. My hcg which is supposed to be 0, was tested Monday at 4.5 which still isn’t positive(positive ranges above 25) according to my OB but it’s definitely not 0. But that was Monday. I’ll have to come back in next Monday to confirm pregnancy. Which in my mind was already confirmed when the 0 turned in 4.5

Bailee26 · 12/06/2020 13:38

I know they’re not much but here’s some pictures. Oddly, last time I got a very faint positive was 2/10/2020. So it’s been exactly 4 months and 2 days to the day of my first ever positive. About 3 months(04/08/2020) to the date of my medically managed MMC.

IWM20 · 12/06/2020 14:14

Yay @bailee26 congratulations!!!! I can definitely see the line, albeit faint but a line is a line!! And your HCG is rising too ❤️

IWM20 · 12/06/2020 14:15

It's Ind by the way, I changed my name haha xx

Hoppyhops · 12/06/2020 17:19

@Bailee26 I definitely see a squinter of a line there! Rising HCG too. All going in the right direction, hooray! 💗

Bailee26 · 16/06/2020 12:25

Well everyone it’s official. On Sunday, I got a resounding “not pregnant” two days later and here’s my BFP. I’ve gotta say our approach was a little more relaxed this time(as much as one can). super excited to be on this journey again. Thank you everyone for your support and advice and I am tossing bucketfuls of baby dust your way.

Congratulations!!! If you don’t mind me asking, how long was this after your miscarriage? My surgical treatment for missed miscarriage was 2 weeks ago today and I’m still spotting a bit, but keen to get back to TTC! My mum keeps telling me to relax and that’s when it will happen (which was true last time but sadly it didn’t stick) but it’s so hard to do!

Bailee26 · 16/06/2020 13:52

@notalwaysalondoner my pregnancy stopped progressing at about 6weeks (Feb 28) we only found out at 8 weeks (March 12) my miscarriage was medically managed w cytotec at 11 weeks (April 4). my first period came back on May 23rd and my first vvvv faint positive came June 10. I know that’s a lot of dates but since everyone’s different I had no idea what to expect or when to start trying. I didn’t even get what i thought would be a positive ovulation test.

notalwaysalondoner · 16/06/2020 15:14

I relied on ovulation tests last time as I really didn’t get on with BBT and my cervical mucus really doesn’t change much, so hoping that we just get lucky as from what everyone says ovulation tests can be thrown off by residual HCG for the first few months after miscarriage. Hoping I get a negative pregnancy test next week then get lucky the first month like you!

Bailee26 · 16/06/2020 17:21

@notalwaysalondoner mine certainly were but then I started LH testing maybe on the 5th day after my period and you can ovulate anywhere from right after your period to right before on these next 3 cycles where things start to regulate themselves. my OB told me after the first cycle would be my best shot and they were right! Best of luck to you and buckets of baby dust ✨

Hoppyhops · 16/06/2020 21:55

@Bailee26 That’s fantastic! So pleased for you! 💓

Bailee26 · 16/06/2020 23:27

@Hoppyhops The waiting is the worst part. we’ve decided to keep it a secret until after 12 weeks. but my due due is proposed right around the day my unborn stopped developing and it seems like we’re getting a second chance. i’m so nervous i’m practically shaking just talking about it.

Hoppyhops · 17/06/2020 07:11

@Bailee26 Aww I can imagine- I know that I would feel nervous too. I really hope that everything goes well for you, I have a good feeling that this is it!

IWM20 · 17/06/2020 10:51

Can it be?!?! 😭😭

IWM20 · 17/06/2020 10:53

@bailee26 what fantastic news!! That's amazing! Congratulations to you hun 😍❤️

IWM20 · 17/06/2020 10:56

Today is CD27 after my MC. Going by my usual cycles, AF is due Saturday. Had loads of symptoms the last week or so so I was convinced I was but was unsure if I was symptom spotting/hormones all over the place after AF. Had some boots test strips (25miu) and I'm sure I can see something! I've done 4 other tests like this since MC (and other brands too. This is all I have left 😂) and they've all been stark white negative xx

IWM20 · 17/06/2020 10:57

Hormones all over the place after MC not AF (not had AF since MC). I'm so excited /scared/surprised I can't even think what I'm typing other than 😱😱😱😱😱

Bailee26 · 17/06/2020 14:54

@IWM20 I definitely see a vv faint line!

Bailee26 · 17/06/2020 14:55

@IWM20 I think a congratulations is in order for yourself as well!!
