TTC after miscarriage

Hello Ladies

Please give me some hope and confidence. I have been through a miscarriage recently. Had d and c and then retained products. Had to wait for my first af 9 weeks after d and c. Now in the last scan I was told that almost everything is gone except that of a very very small 8mm tiny bit left which will eventually come out in the next cycle. Doc has asked me to wait for just one more cycle to ttc. Somehow in the length of this whole episode which dragged for 3 months now, I feel very hopeless and scared to death about ttc. I really want to hold a baby and have a second child. I sob everyday endlessly alone. There is no one to talk to, I have no sibling or close friends and lost my mother 2 years ago. I am a full time working women and it takes a toll on my emotional health. I am terrified and abosultely scared to death to go through this emotional pain again. When I was going through miscarriage this forum has been my single strong support and I have come back again to get some hope from you lovely ladies. Please help

Hey lovelies hope you’re all keeping well and safe.
I’ve just got my bfp 3 months since my mc. I had “given up” this month, I hope this gives you ladies some hope and I’ll keep everything crossed that you all get yours soon.

Hi ladies

I realise this is an older post however I’m so glad I found it.

I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago on Wednesday and thought I was okay, I’ve realised recently that I’m not. I didn’t think I could get pregnant, I have PCOS. I’ve always wanted to be a mum - now I want it more than ever!

It’s the only thing I can think about I have so many questions & feel speaking to someone in the same situation will help.

When is it okay to start trying again?
How can we try again if I don’t have regular periods or know how my cycle works?

Sending love to you all after reading your posts on here x

Trying93 · 14/04/2020 01:17

@LaurenB1 it's not an old post, it's been going a while but people are still actively posting.

Sorry your going through this too. We're all here for you to talk to and answer any questions the best we can.

You can start trying again as soon as you stop bleeding but its recommended you wait until you've had 1 period as they use your period to date your pregnancy. That's generally the advice unless you've been told otherwise.

Sounds like your situation is a bit different since you dont have regular periods. Have you considered using OPKs to see when you ovulate?

I dont know much about PCOS so apologies if I get anything wrong. Can you get any treatment/medication to help with ttc.

Take care of yourself 💕

@littlegem638 no problem :)

10 weeks!! Your a quarter of the way there. I hope you can relax a bit now. You give me so much hope

Lottieloux · 17/04/2020 20:53

@LittleGem638 so happy for you! Was this an nhs scan or private? I’ve got midwife next week for booking appointment and worried about when my first scan will be because of everything going on x

LittleGem638 · 17/04/2020 20:57

@Trying93 I know! Part of me feels like its flown by but on the other hand I feel like I've being pregnant forever with me losing my other pregnancy in december. I'm going to try my best to be calmer now since seeing baby at this stage has given me confidence x

@Lottieloux thank you! Congrats to you too! This was a private scan as wanted my partner there due to anxiety. I had my booking appointment at 8 weeks then my nhs scan appointment came a week later in the post for when I am exactly 12 weeks, I know that they are saying scans can be anything up to 14 weeks x

Hey ladies I think I’m going to be rejoining your soon. I’ve had a large pink bleed today after seeing heartbeat last week. I’m heartbroken and can’t do this again

Bailee26 · 30/04/2020 17:54

Today I’ve just gotten my second blood draw. I’d been spotting and cramping and assumed it to be implantation bleeding after a few positive tests. On Tuesday, I had a blood draw and I got the results back this morning that said HCG was at 27.6 and my progesterone was extremely low at just .29 :(. Yesterday I took a Clearblue Digital and I’m hoping maybe it’s just taken time for the levels to change. I don’t know, this is all so hard.

@LittleGem638 Congratulations 🎈:)

@Lottieloux i’m really hoping for the best in your situation :(

Trying93 · 01/05/2020 14:10

@Lottieloux im so sorry to hear that, I really hope it's not another mc. Have you spoken to EPU? Are you able to get an early scan. I've got my fingers crossed for you that your baby is okay.

@bailee26 do you think your pregnant again so soon? Hope you get good news.

Both of you keep us updated

Bailee26 · 01/05/2020 14:41

@Trying93 I really hope so. Today marks 28 days since the beginning of my miscarriage (which I took medication for just to recap) still no period and I’m extremely bloated with tender breasts, very fatigued, back killing me and even cramping ever so lightly. I still haven’t gotten the results back from my second blood draw yesterday. It feels like ages since then. My biggest fear however is that maybe it’s an ectopic :( because of low progesterone. But I’ve been taking my Vitex religiously along with folic acid and I’ve been doing food therapy(which is basically eating fruits and vegetables that can promote a healthy environment inside your body), I hope so much that I am.

Trying93 · 01/05/2020 23:44

@Bailee26 have you had a negative test since your mc? Hope you get your results soon

Bailee26 · 02/05/2020 00:50

@Trying93 yes and no. like i’ve had the tests go negative but also in the same day gotten a faint positive. i’m not sure what my levels were at the end of the bleeding but at the beginning they were well over 100,000. doctors office is closed today so maybe will get them tomorrow but most likely monday. gonna be an anxious weekend.

Trying93 · 05/05/2020 09:39

@Lottieloux @bailee26 how yous getting on?

Lottieloux · 05/05/2020 11:03

Hey @Trying93 I’m okay still having a pink bleed every few days and brown spotting. I managed to get an epu scan last week which showed little speck fine and heartbeat is strong. Can’t see any reason for the bleed but I’ve got a private scan Saturday.
Trying to not worry but it’s so hard after a mc to not think the worse! Only saving grace seems to be that my morning sickness is awful

Bailee26 · 05/05/2020 12:55

@Trying93 the OB told me that from Tuesday to Thursday my hcg didn’t rise and essentially if it’s the same next week, I’ll need a D&C. But he refused to schedule me for an ultrasound to even see what’s left of anything of the miscarriage. I mean I could accept not being pregnant if i hadn’t been spotting for 11 days, sore boobs, lower abdominal pressure on both sides, and so bloated i can hardly move but apparently it doesn’t warrant the slightest bit of concern for my OB. i’m just in a really hard spot right

Hoppyhops · 07/05/2020 09:21

@Lottieloux Hope all goes well for your scan on Saturday and it can put your mind a little more at ease. It sounds promising that you’ve seen a strong heartbeat and your symptoms are strong.

@Bailee26 Sounds very confusing for you. How are things now?

I’m still waiting for AF after my MC. It’s been 7 weeks now and I just want to get back to normal. Naturally, my irrational side has started symptom spotting for pregnancy but I’m trying to be rational and tell myself that it’s taking so long because my cycle is all over the place and my hormones are settling. I did cave and do a test a few days ago and got a BFN. Then I was annoyed with myself for doing a test. I think I’m finding it tougher or as tough now, waiting for AF, as I did when I had the MC.

Shinea · 07/05/2020 10:04

I had miscarriage on april 6th at my 21st week, I had to deliver baby. Later I had bleeding for about 3 weeks and my periods returned today exactly 1 month after mc. This is giving me bit of hope after a huge loss. I am thinking to try after this periods, any advices? 3

Bailee26 · 07/05/2020 22:15

@Hoppyhops I get that. It’s hey been almost 5 weeks since MC and after a trip to the hospital they pretty much told me they don’t know why I’m bleeding but I’m definitely not pregnant again so there’s that. Admittedly we keep trying but taking ovulation tests are so hard because I’m not sure if they’re positive or dark because of the leftover HCG or if it’s really a peak.
Three of my friends are progressing normally in their pregnancy and even though I’m happy for them, I’m absolutely gutted to see their beautiful ultrasound pictures. I want that so bad.
