It's the surgery to remove it under, I opted for it as mine was a mmc picked up at 13 weeks and not confirmed til 15 weeks, by which point I just wanted it to end. If you're considering it I can recommend it, I was home by mid afternoon with no pain, minimal bleeding and a fairly quick recovery.

MyNameIsSuz · 25/03/2015 22:30

Just tested and it was negative, what a relief! Waiting until I've had a period then trying again.

AtAt · 25/03/2015 22:55

I was never more happy to see a negative than this morning. I'm not going to wait for my period, as I was on the pill then implant for so long, I don't know how long it will take to get back to normal. We are just going to go for it and see what happens. Hope it happens quickly for you suz

MyNameIsSuz · 25/03/2015 23:00

Thanks AtAt, hope it happens quickly for you too.

UnderEstherMate · 26/03/2015 02:25

Thank you suz, if it's given as an option I will definitely consider. Sorry it came to this, I'm glad it's all over for you now though

Bunty1976 · 26/03/2015 13:07

Hi suz,

Sorry in delayed reply I'm trying not to surf as much as I have been.. ?? no I still haven't gone natural yet & it's completely heartbreaking as it raises false hope?? however the medical pill is a No no for me I have read 8/10 need a D&C after so it prolongs the closure and can become very complicated for some ladies & I could not mentally cope with that if it does not come naturally by Wednesday 15wks I will book in for D&C as really cant prolong this much more... My bump has become huge all though there's nobaby ?? & my symptoms have flared up also... I've had nausea, heartburn, increased urine & lower back pain all these symptoms stopped around 9.5 wks & it's very confusing tbh but apparently this is normal as body thinks it has a viable pregnancy & does not recognise the loss b4 EPRC I will have a further scan just to dbl check which we all know & have come to terms with that it is still going to be the same outcome of Fetus 8.5wks or less with no fetal pole or H/B!!! But I couldn't have the procedure without being 100% sure as it is now 5.5wks past loss totalling 15wks ?? I wish all u ladies the best & baby dust for the future with hugs & love from me ...

Anyone going through or have been through IVF I'd be interested with your views & outcomes also xx

gingerbreadmam · 26/03/2015 15:13

hi bunty, i didnt have ivf however my baby stopped developing at 5+4. wasnt discovered until 9 weeks. i then waited 2 weeks for a rescan to confirm and was told to expect to miscarry in that time. i didnt. rescan confirmed the news then i was advised to go natural. i waited another 2 weeks and nothing happened (so was 13 weeks by this point). i contacted the hospital and was prescribed medical management at home.

this failed although it wasnt completely obvious it had failed and upon a telephone conversation with the hospital they reassured me it was ok.

two days later i started getting contractions then loosing a lot of blood which went on for three hours. i didnt panic as i just assumed my body was finally doing the process naturally. i had read too much on the internet and properly put myself in danger.

as i assumed it had happened naturally i returned to work 2 days later, the same thing happened at work at which point i had to go straight to hospital and was admitted. fortunately (or not after several internals and manual attempts at removal) i was discharged just beforw midnight that night. i thought again it was finally all over.

the process began again on the saturday where i was admitted to hospital again and this time i wasnt allowed home until i had undergone an emergency erpc and was finally discharged on monday when it was thankfully finally over that time.

my story is quite unusual, not many people (thankfully) go through those added complications. for me in hindsight the erpc would have been my best option and made the process much less traumatising. i am now receiving counselling for my loss.

i know some people are concerned about how erpc affects your womb and to give you a little reassurance, even after all of that, i am now 10+3 in a new pregnancy having only had one af after the erpc. everything is perfect so far too (had a scan last week after a scare).

hope u r all ok and you find that informative, not trying to scare anyone so i do apologise if it comes across like that. Thanks

fromwesttoeast · 26/03/2015 16:05

Glad to hear you are doing well Ginger.

gingerbreadmam · 26/03/2015 16:31

thanks west. ok jus willing away the days till 12 week scan now (7 april). hope after that one i can relax.

hope u r ok Thanks

fromwesttoeast · 26/03/2015 16:57

Yes, I'm ok thanks. Everything seems ok, as far as I can tell!

gingerbreadmam · 26/03/2015 20:04

everything seems ok? do you have some news west?

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 10:00

No, no news. I just mean that I still have mild pg symptoms and no bleeding. I haven't even got as far as calling the GP yet, let alone anything more! So, all I mean is that at this stage it all seems ok, but there is the possibility that I'm having another MMC and just don't know yet. I'm staying cautious.

gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 11:47

huh, so are you pregnant again? I think I may have got you and wonky confused at some point. I thought wonky was pregnant.

How far gone are you? I kept telling myself in the early stages of this pregnancy its not often you hear of people having two mmc's in a row, you wouldn't think it by all of us on this thread but they are apparently quiet rare.

I hope you are ok and keeping as positive as you can, it does get better the further on you are I think by 8ish weeks I was feeling a lot more positive until I had my scare. even now though just short of two weeks past it I am back to feeling a bit more positive.

TMI warning - do have a little spot on my pad today though which is making the panic alarms go off, but its is a deep yellow. I was wondering this morning if I have a bit of thrush or am a bit dehydrated, don't think its anything to worry about but its still enough to set me off a bit!

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 12:02

Yes, I think you have mixed me up with Wonky. I have mentioned my pregnancy on here, well on the old thread anyway, and you have commented on it!
As far as I recall Wonky hasn't announced a new pg yet.
I'm 8+3 now. I know what you mean about what we get from these boards. Although the support is great I think it can also skew our idea of normal. MMC is very common on here, and I can immediately recall a poster who had two in a row. But you are right, in the wider world it's not that common.

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 12:03

Don't think you should worry about the yellow spot, unless it increases significantly.

Bunty1976 · 27/03/2015 12:20

Morning ginger bread,

Thank you very much for your reply it has shed a lot of light for me.. Congratulations on new pregnancy I shall be thinking of you & hoping for the best for u & your baby, I can only imagine the heartache you have been through as that was very traumatic & confusing & for such a length of time! I can understand how frightened & worrying it must be this time around but all being well you will make the 38-40 weeks with no major issues, As of today I still have no signs of MMC and have booked in for ERPC/D&C Wednesday 01/04 April Fool's Day lets just hope all goes well as I really need to get on with it now and excepting my loss & moving on.... I hope I manage to do this successfully only time will tell.

I wish all of u the very best & thank you dearly for sharing your losses with me xx

gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 12:31

ahh west I certainly did. Apologies wonky as I think I asked up thread how pregnancy was going, so sorry.

Well you are coming along just fine west, are you thinking of an early scan? At my scan last week (after scare) where I was dated 9 weeks the midwife said once you have seen all is well at that point there is less than 5% chance of anything going wrong. it may help you if you had that reassurance (although I know after what we have been through a scan is a very scary experience).

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about too, I am putting my faith in what the midwife said about things being good after that good scan at 9 weeks.

bunty it must be a relief that you can now see an end point, I hope that everything goes well for you on Wednesday. Once it is all over you will hopefully feel at a better point to look to the future. Get all the help you can though whether it be on here, in real life, or if you have considered it counselling, I have found mine invaluable! I hope you are feeling ok today and thank you for your lovely message.

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 13:01

I'm not thinking of an early scan. Unless I start bleeding I'm going to put off calling the GP for a couple more weeks then take it from there. I've been exceptionally busy these last few weeks. Looking forward to a couple of much more restful weeks coming up, then deal with the pg issue after that.
I think your chances of going successfully to term are now excellent, Ginger, you are young, you had a good scan. It's all good.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Bunty. Flowers

gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 14:26

well it sounds like u r coping just great west well done! a couple of weeks will pass in no time. might be worth bareing in mind though i had to wait 3 weeks for booking in apt then another 2 weeks for scan appointment to come through. if ur thinking of tests and stuff it might be worth making contact sooner as i know they do them in a certain timeframe.

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 14:32

Yes, I've taken that into consideration Ginger. I don't want the tests. I expect I will be scanned at some point over 12 weeks, but hopefully before 16 weeks.

gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 18:03

ahh you already have it all planned out! great news. really pleased everything seems to be going ok.

ive had a few more spots and the tiniest (maybe even seeing things-amount) bit of brown when wiping. being pregnancy after mc is emotional torture. i am off out tonite so going to try to switch off from it and assume that maybe im just a bleeder or theres somewhere else it may be coming from. im sure its nothing. 12 week scan is a week on tuesday so if i can just plod on nicely until then ill be happy Grin

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 18:24

I expect it's just old blood from your scare last week. So hopefully not a problem.

gingerbreadmam · 27/03/2015 18:35

west how wonderful u r. that never even crossed my mind. thank you so much Thanks

fromwesttoeast · 27/03/2015 21:09

You are most welcome!

MyNameIsSuz · 29/03/2015 14:52

I have a question for anyone who's come out the other side. What was your first
period like? I had my erpc two weeks ago and bleeding stopped about three days after. Did a negative test during the week. We're waiting to try again until after a period and I'd expected it would be roughly a month, but I'm having what looks like the start of one now. Could this be a period so early? How do the cycles work?
