mmc...totally lost

This is probably covered in other threads so apologies, but I don't have the strength to read them right now.
I went for an early reassurance scan this morning due to a couple of previous very early losses. On those occasions I always knew something was wrong as bfp' s were weak and symptoms non existent. This time I've had the strongest symptoms I've ever had, even compared to my two pregnancies that resulted in my children. Unfortunately I have a sac measuring 7 weeks (my days put me at 7w3d) a yolk sac but no fetal pole at all. Totally empty.
I still feel so pregnant though and my symptoms are strong.
How long can I expect to still feel like this and any idea when my body will realize there is no baby and let it go?
I'm finding this so so hard compared to my spontaneous mc' s.
Thanks.

i would if you can just makes it easier to date and gives your womb chance to build up a nice healthy lining for bean to nestle into.

hopefully af will come at the usual time altho i know on here people tend to call this cycle the wtf cycle.

Sams23 · 22/02/2015 17:11

Yes my bleeding has stopped now too I used to use those strip tests too. I've got tonnes of the proper tests feels horrible the hospital made me test to see if I was preg before I was allowed to go in to be scanned and my partner went a bit crazy buying tonnes and I thought what a waste won't be needing them! But at least I'm stocked up! I'm hoping periods will go back to regular and don't have to wait too long now until it comes!

gingerbreadmam · 22/02/2015 17:47

youll be glad of the tests sam when i just felt like i was pg i had to go out buying tests and then waiting until the morning to use them. wish id had a stack at home.

mind u i tested so early ppl would have claimed not to see the first bfp i got this time (5 days early and afternoon pee lol)

Sams23 · 22/02/2015 18:12

Yes you are right the amount of times I've ran out to get one from shops lol! Wow that is early to show up lol!! Btw what does bfp stand for (slowly learning all the code words haha!)

brickiemum2 · 22/02/2015 18:14

There's no real evidence that you should wait for your period before ttc after a mc...the only possible benefit is that you can date your pregnancy allegedly, but I wouldn't put a very high value on that personally. My 5 year old was conceived 14 days after mc with no af and ask was well. I specifically asked the consultant and the midwife specialising in mc and they both said it was fine to just go for it. There's no way I would use contraception until af decided to show up anyway...that would just feel Sad For the first cycle I'm just letting nature take (or not take) it's course. I'll think about opk and advice ttc after that.

brickie ive read that too. theres so much conflicing info around. for me i just thought may as well wait till af as if u had fell before and then something happened i would have blamed myself. silly i know. and you are proof that it really doesnt matter.

wonder if its different if u have erpc as that can thin your lining and damage womb, the dr who saw me after erpc did say wait 6 weeks or until first af, luckily mine came 28 days later.

i know super early. i used ovia conception app to see roughly when i would ovulate and dtd as much as poss around that date. i then dreamt on the saturday or felt even i duno it was weird that i had gotten pg then. was shattered from then on. tested on the thursday before af due monday. fmu didnt show anything. dont know why but did it again on the aft and got the feintest line lol! tested on cb digi on the sunday 1 day before af and got 2-3 wks lol!

bfp is big fat positive, bfn is big fat negative, af is aunty flo = period, ewcm is basically the discharge u get when fertile and 2ww is the 2 weeks following ovulation and before af is due lol. useful terms for when you are reading all the board on here.

gingerbreadmam · 22/02/2015 18:23

oh dtd is do the deed = shag lol!

Lauramum23 · 22/02/2015 18:27

Bfp big fat positive!

What i will probably do is wait till the all clear from scan and then we will not be very careful!? But having said that my dh and my birthday are at the end of march within days so I could have a drink if nothing happens this month!

Lauramum23 · 22/02/2015 18:28

When was your 5 year old born mine was 11 th march 09 so he's almost 6!

brickiemum2 · 22/02/2015 18:38

I had my MVA on Friday the 13th and my hpt was still +ve this morning. Did one now with afternoon wee and it's only just got a ghost of a line.

Stoatystoat · 22/02/2015 23:12

I don't know what to say. I can't believe I'm on a MMC thread.

Lauramum23 · 23/02/2015 07:37

I think it will take a few days to sink in love x

Sams23 · 23/02/2015 07:40

Sad it's so hard but yes we are here for you Flowers did you opt for the tablets? It's horrible you never think it's going to happen to you Sad Thank you for all the code words lol!

Stoatystoat · 23/02/2015 07:48

I didn't get the tablet option, I went for the pessary.

Spotting started at 5 weeks, on and off, no pain. 1st scan at 6 weeks was ok. At 7 it was small and in doubt, at 8 a MMC confirmed. That was Wednesday. On Thursday I booked in to hospital. On Saturday I went and had my pessary. I screamed. Being in hospital wasn't that bad, I was with my sister and DH. We sat around crying, laughing, reading magazines and I had contractions. After that I started bleeding but it was steady so they sent me home. The main event happened yesterday morning. I didn't look, I have been pissing in Tupperware as DSis or DH held it and checked it. It was on DHs watch. He said oh god. I didn't feel it. My sister had a look and was quite upset by whatever she saw, though bear in mind I only had an empty sac anyway. I have been hysterical.

Lauramum23 · 23/02/2015 09:46

Well I've just poas ( peed/pissed on a stick for you Sam) and it's totally negative! Can't believe I'm happy about that at the moment but hey!?

brickiemum2 · 23/02/2015 10:04

It's ok to be happy about that Laura it means that you're another stage forward in this being over. I'm still hoping for a bfn, still getting weak bfp so far.
stoaty it's early days and perfectly ok to be sad and miserable but if you feel like you are struggling to handle your emotions it's probably best to go and explain to your gp....there's no shame in needing some help to cope.

I'm having a bit of time off. I have counselling set up. Not feeling the need for meds though. Have had them before at a really bad point and definitely needed them but don't feel they are right for me now.

Sams23 · 23/02/2015 13:20

Sad feel for you it's not a nice experience at all having time off is a good idea I really needed that time to clear my head I liked being in my bubble at home felt safe now going back to reality and having to listen to people talk about things that really don't matter is really hard! Thank you Laura that's a new one lol!

Stoatystoat · 23/02/2015 13:39

I'm at my DSis house cuddling my toddler nephew, it's good. Nice to be out the house without being out in the real world.

My work were insistent I have some time off and not rush back to work.

brickiemum2 · 23/02/2015 18:01

I'm going back in to epau tomorrow for scan and bloods. My bfp today was still as dark as the day after the operation, I still have early preg symptoms and I'm still cramping. Hope there's nothing going on in there Sad
