The virtual girls' holiday in Ibiza thread - moving on from mc with or without ttc but with plenty of wine and virtual all night dancing

freelancegirl · 03/05/2011 10:24

Ok ok I succumbed to peer pressure to create the thread. This is a place for some of us (and anyone else who wants to join) who have been through the downs of mc and are ready for brighter days and a place to chat nonsense away from the How Are You Feeling Post MC thread. The How Are You Feeling thread should still survive, especially for those newly going through the process, but here we can move on to hopefully brighter days.

Really (newly minted with a BFP and therefore the first of the group to be properly ttc) can kick us off with her no doubt filthy dalliance with a Geology student (was it?) in Crete and we can all pretend we are in a girls' holiday in Ibiza. Grab a glass of sparkly and plonk your (this is virtual so we can look exactly as we want to) toned bikini bodied bum on a bar stool! xx

Me lounge? Damn this phone: it's covered in sand too!

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 14:06

Have you guys gone on to another thread already? It's quite lonely here! Or are you still in bed after the late night partying? Anyone had afs yet? Ok, I'm outtahere! x

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 14:43

Welcome back diamonds, pleased the break did you good!

I'm currently waiting for my 2nd AF since mc. My cycle before the mc was all over the place, so when I got AF 4.2 wks after the ERPC I was pretty chuffed. However it now looks like it's going back to it's usual inconsistent self! Did a test this morning just to make sure it wasn't anything else, but got a bfn. It took a year for me to see a bfp in the first place and I don't want to go back there again, or get too obsessed about it all - yet I feel it's creeping in

diamonds I'm sure your body will find it's previous rhythm once it's fully recovered, they say this can take time.

We are still here. But like Free said maybe we're all partied out and it's time to take a trip to the 'luxury' spa.... loving that thought.

pixie100 · 14/05/2011 15:31

Welcome back DIAMOND - glad you had gr8 time. You look wonderful in your new bikini x [hands over large jug of vodka laced sangria] x

I'm a huge hormone today - 1st AF since m/c. I cried at the telly earlier... Smile

FREE - it looks like this is your period - or at least your body is moving in that direction ...

Hello CREAM - when is your AF due?

PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME HERE... II'm not finished partying yet... Wine

I want to make the most of it as we hope to ttc at end of the month. so before then I'm gonna eat as much cheese, drink wine & be as merry as poss until then.

Where IS everyone else?

I'm off to play a game of tennis to try & beat hormones out of my body...

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 15:48

Hi pixie I'll party with you for a little longer then. That didn't take much persuasion did it! Well I thought my AF was due this week, had all the signs it was coming, but now nothing and no AF symptoms anymore - and a bfn to top it off.

Good news about your AF. Enjoy the next couple of weeks, Ibiza style, then you can hop to the Spa for your 2ww.

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 16:18

Cream: hope you're body stays regular, inconsistency sounds hard. Do you temp or chart? Been informed on the good ladies here that they're useful tools in getting to grips with things. Maybe it's the way forward for us all.
Pixie: I'll keep you company! I'm not ready to stop partying either. Virtual or RL : I think we owe ourselves that! I see what you mean about when period would be due had I not fallen pregnant, and regular cycle continued...well- that would mean period wouldnt be due until next Sunday. But why would I have ovulated nine days after ERPC? Thought the ERPC would have counted as cd1 due to the ovulation?! Oh well, what will be will be. It's just sometimes I think if the answer is on MN then it's easier to ask it rather than a wait and see approach! Plain lazy! Am in a good place at the mo. Long may it continue! Not partied out at all just yet... But if the ladies do move again, I'm sure they'll be in good company- and I'm not averse to jumping between threads! So let the ladies do what feels comfy to them...if they're partied out, they're partied out! Good luck to them x

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 16:22

Xposts cream! I'm still here ( there and everywhere!). Sorry you're in limbo, if it's any consolation, then I'm just as lost! Don't know whether I'm coming or going. One thing I am 100% certain of is that I am not pregnant as we didn't plan to be (condom). We agreed to ttc after a few cycles: just to build up the lining after ERPC.

Shellshocked1 · 14/05/2011 16:32

Afternoon. Now I'm pretty sure someone dumped a whole load of hormones into our sangria last night because I've had a very low day, just like a lot of us. Was bound to happen, weather's not helping, better hit the sun in Ibiza!

LIG - Sorry the tests were so confusing. Looking forward to the hedonistic phase with no ironing! Hope the flat hunting improves.

Waves to Mopey, Cream, BLL, Blue, Diamonds, can I offer you a Twister lolly?

Free, thought yours was a great post and summed up a lot of my feelings. I keep looking at the mc boards but feel it's to early to even start to offer advice. Hopefully everyone will see this board and come here. Lots of hugs to you and hope the birthday celebrations are continuing for you and DH and that you're having some fun. It does sound that BAF is coming though so fingers crossed!

Ibiza or Spa, I'm just going to follow you girls like a sad hanger on!

Pixie hope the tennis has got those damn hormones out! And thanks again for sending me over here.

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 16:36

Hi diamonds good to see you are in a good place, even though you are in limbo waiting for your AF to arrive. I think pixie is right about it being like a watched kettle - it takes forever to boil. I think I actually try to push my AF out every time I go to the loo, as if that will bring it on.

I've never took temp or charted, up until this last pg/mc I was led to believe I had fertility problems so I just left it to fate, but now I've had a taste of it (being prg) I seem to want more. I really want to stay with my what will be will be attitude - but I can feel that slipping away now. I do feel more in tune with my body now though

Maybe I should do as you are doing diamonds and take this 2nd bfn (since the mc) as a positive as it is all extra time to build my lining up after the ERPC.

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 16:44

Shell yes please to the twister lolly. Although I wish we had the sun to go with it.

I think someone must have spiked our sangria with yucky hormones last night, I've certainly got my fair share. Hope you feel brighter soon x

Sounds like we need to stay on this party thread for a little longer.

freelancegirl · 14/05/2011 16:48

Welcome back Diamonds and Cream and Shell too. It's lovely to have you all to chat too.

Ok, you've convinced me. We can stay here in Ibiza for a while. I might just nip up to a hillside spa tomorrow though and have a few treatments before coming back to the party...

Damn that shady character we met in the bar last night who spiked our mojitos with a load of hormones!

Oh dear goodness, I just don't know what to think about the period situation for any of us. I have seen on other threads that people's 'usual' cycles are no longer always usual after a mc. I have just sussed out that I might be having one now. God I feel like shite. BUT I have just been off (in real life) to get a manicure (my nails look luvverly!) and I have stocked up on body scrub, face mast and moisturiser and am about to have a long, hot soak, slather myself with loads of goodies, dry and straighten my hair before doing make up etc and going out. I just feel like my body needs a layer taking off it! And also on Group On I bought a voucher for a massage and Dermologica facial for £29 which I intend to make use of next week. So I am really treating myself and starting to feel mentally better already.

So - we are staying in Ibiza for the time being. Anyone else want a manicure and massage before we hit the town? xx

Diamonds hello again and welcome home. We are still here.

As usual I am probably 10 mins too late for the session. I am just home (shortly before 2am here) from my night out with my girlfriends, and the true end to my hedonistic stage is still, realistically, a couple of weeks away. I just need a hedonistic-free day. Sunday tomorrow, that ought to do it. Smile

Incidentally, did anyone know it is not just corn chips that work with melted cheese? As far as midnight munchies go, any old chips with melted cheese will do.

g'night love youse all, please don't exclude me from the spa, I think I will need it tomorrow.

freelancegirl · 14/05/2011 17:01

BLL we live in England so you are preaching to the converted about chips and cheese. It's a pub staple. I think I ate nothing else for three years when I worked in one one. AND I was really skinny. It is practically a health food. Unless you are coming over all foreign, like, on us and mean crisps and melted cheese. In which case that really is a revelation!

Glad we can 'real time' chat! But you have probably gone to bed now, smeared in cheese and chips, and I am about to smear myself in scrub.

DH ran the bath for me and keeps saying - come on get in the bath! He just offered to take over from my mn-ing. I said what would you say? And he said he would 'go on about bleeding all the time'. Looks like he has me sussed.... :)

Free sounds like you are doing well at creating your very own spa experience. I had a dermologica facial today, I treat myself to one every 3 weeks. Going for a manicure, pedicure, neck, shoulder and back massage next weekend, all courtesy of Groupon. We all derserve a little pampering.

bll yum to melted cheese on chips - hope you have too many cheese induced hedonistic dreams, on the other hand.....

Free I think she might mean 'crisps'. In any case I feel I should give it a go, be rude not to. Now where are those walkers salt and vinegar....

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 17:08

insert a don't into 'hope you don't have too many cheese dreams.....'

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 17:14

Lol freelance! Thanks for the warm welcome, twister gratefully received, am going to make some chips and sprinkle tuna and cheese on top with a smidgen of chilli sauce - yum! The sleep off sounds good BLL, as does the pampering session freelance: You ARE one very busy girl!
Feel right at home. Just nice to see that we are all heading in the right direction, sometimes right back to our grumpy selves(!)- ducks to avoid the egg throated! Thank goodness the mc days are in the dim and distant past. Cream: I'm sure that you'll fall pregnant quicker this time- they do say you are more fertile after a mc. Hope it's true. We'd been trying for a while. At least we know it has happened for us once?! Where is that lucky lady: Reallyuseful? I'm hanging about so I can snog her, in the hope that some of those vibes can rub off onto me!

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 17:21

The crisps with cheese sound like the nacho covered cheese delights you get at the vue cinemas: straight to seventh heaven- you feel every mouthful sticking onto your thighs and bum! Worth every bite!

Shellshocked1 · 14/05/2011 17:39

Cream, I did read somewhere that it's better to take about 3 months after an ERPC to build up your lining, so def take it as a positive. I'm the same as you and will definitely be taking a 'professional' attitude when we start to try again. Good to have all these experts on the sun loungers to help.

I have a friend and a SIL who had MMCs, both took a while to conceive again and now we have a lovely nephew and I'm going to meet my friend's arrival next week. There's definitely hope out there. And particularly from Really!

Free I bet you're looking absolutely gorgeous! Although I hope I'm not talking to Mr Free right now! I'll join you in a massage and a manicure and probably need a spot of waxing too (that should send Mr Free running for the hills!).

creamcracker · 14/05/2011 17:51

Oh shell you have me thinking now - I wonder how many Mr Free's, Mr Shell's, Mr Diamonds, dread to think this but Mr Cream's we have taking a sneaky peek at these threads!! They must get the shock of their lives!

Does anyone ever have a time in RL when they're talking about something and say 'oh I have a friend that....' and your asked which friend? Before realising it's one of your virtual MN friends and suddenly you feel slightly embarrassed and just reply 'oh just someone I kind of know' - not wanting to admit to your pool of virtual friends, which of course we all are 'friends' even though we've never met! Well apart from free, really and pixie who have actually had the pleasure of meeting in RL.

I must seem very sad today as I seem to have been on here all afternoon, when in fact I'm on the laptop doing study but I'm a sucker for procrastination.

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 17:53

Shell: you are so right! Just build up that endometrium fx for all of us! x

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 18:06

Not sad at all cream! Ooh that thought makes me cringe! I've never divulged anything to my Dh- he'd think I was a right loony bin!Not sad at all- nice to have thecompany. Am trying to keep up on iPhone. x

pixie100 · 14/05/2011 18:53

CREAM - this was hystrical when REALLY, FREE & I did actually meet, as later on in the eve (once we were well & truely sozzled) we did meet someone I knew (well, it was one of my clients actually) who asked us how we knew each other .... it was very very funny Smile Grin

I think we made them try to guess... & then left... hehehehahahah ...

& it happens to me.

My DP calles m/s 'my hobby' -- she askes, "are you doing your hobby now?" "what's happening in your hobby world?" etc... I think she is genuinely happy i have somewhere to talk to people about this kind of stuff to. she's not so great with 'gunk' & 'gooey' stuff/talk.

mmmm - chips & cheese - now there's a blast from the past Smile.

BABY - is it you who lives in OZ?

SHELL - tennis was okay, not my best way every - you are more than welcome about this place- I'm gld you made it.
BTW you make amazing cocktails - I've just had one of your 'ON THE BLOB' - delicious.

on the blob Cocktail Ingredients

happy partying everyone x

hugs & hi's to eveyrone else x

pixie100 · 14/05/2011 19:24

DIAMOND - re. your ovulation/period.
after a m/c your body goes all over the place & ovulation can happen at odd times,,, I'd go with the dates pre. pg more than anything, as I think that too many hormones were involved with anyting/everything else.

I'm sure your AF will be some time between now & next Sun (but maybe even after Sun, if you are knicker checking to see if it arrives).

Stay hyere in Ibiza, chill out with un-hormone spiked sangria/ cool cocktails (i found a fab site for these;

www.cocktailmaking.co.uk/displaycocktail.php/

& help me make my way through this long list of cocktails ... yummy x

I've already started on the rum, sugar & lime ones .... D E L I C I O U S x Wink

Diamondsamdrubies · 14/05/2011 19:47

Pixie: you are one lovely cheeky minx! Those cocktails and that link(I've saved for ideas for bbqs over coming weeks) are fantastic. And the concoctions you're serving up: bring em on Hunni! Let's get sizzled together. Wish I'd been around for the get together- oh well, maybe next time.
Here's some sticky ribs with chunky chilli wedges and stuffed potato skins that I made earlier ; for anyone who is a bit peckish. Enjoy x

pixie100 · 14/05/2011 20:00

hic hic hic... DIAMOND.
I'm already there honey... Wink .

BTW - your food is fab - wot a gr8 idea... I do love some sticky ribs & those chillie wedges put the cheesy chips to shame... Smile.

anyone else joining in ?????
