I'm 50 and I got this yesterday...

I think it might be a raise in HCG because I'm perimenopausal?

I know it won't be leading to anything, but I just wondered if I should see my GP?

I have had a few miscarriages in the past and I'd rather know what to expect I.e early miscarriage or nuts perimenopause symptoms Grin

I did both tests yesterday evening - they are the 6 days early type.

I could smell a weird smell on myself all day which made me think I should test.

I think I need HRT, I can't go through the next few months feeling pregnant.and smelling weird.

If you can do a private clinic get a Bhcg blood test. If it suggest pregnancy you can get one two days later and the value should have doubled indicating pregnancy. It’s way to early for scans but will give you the quickest answer

I got pregnant at 52. I was perimenopausal and my partner had had chemo for testicular cancer.
I didn't even realise l was pregnant (hadn't even considered it could be possible) until l miscarried at about 10 weeks. Thought it was just a very heavy period or uterine shedding until the penny dropped.
I'd either hang fire a few more days and repeat the test, or get checked out.

you are right not to get hopes up much, though of course sometimes miracles happen. I was a surprise at 47 to my mother - completely unplanned and totally healthy thirty-ish years later.

I wonder if maybe you might want to be on a course of progesterone in case you are pregnant. Maybe an obgyn or fertility specialist can weigh in here?
