I think it might be a raise in HCG because I'm perimenopausal?

I know it won't be leading to anything, but I just wondered if I should see my GP?

I have had a few miscarriages in the past and I'd rather know what to expect I.e early miscarriage or nuts perimenopause symptoms Grin

I did both tests yesterday evening - they are the 6 days early type.

I could smell a weird smell on myself all day which made me think I should test.

I think I need HRT, I can't go through the next few months feeling pregnant.and smelling weird.

Do come back in a few weeks - I have everything crossed for you.

My grandmother got pregnant at 52 and it was twins

She already had 10 children

One of her other children weighed 14 and a half pounds at birth

I think she is due some sort of posthumous award

I’m very sorry to hear your middle son is so unwell.

I have had those lines on CB tests before and I wasn’t pregnant, they are notorious for them unfortunately. You really need to do a pink dye test, another poster mentioned FRER are available on Amazon. I always find them in my local chemist so might be worth checking there too.

nobodysdaughternow · 09/10/2023 20:46

Thank you for being so supportive. DH is 8 years young than me so I am not as concerned about my age.

I did everything 'right' when I had my middle child, I was a fit and healthy 36 year old, I breast fed him, I loved and loved and loved him. And now he is really poorly and I cannot make him well. But I have had the joy of being his Mum for 13 years and what a blast it's been.

I genuinely hold no hope for this little flicker of life but it is a welcome distraction from the madness of grief.

Sorry about your middle son. My friend got pregnant at 49 when she thought she was peri. When she didn't have a period she thought that was just menopause starting. She only found out when she was 11 weeks because her breast were so tender and nipples getting darker. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
