I think it might be a raise in HCG because I'm perimenopausal?

I know it won't be leading to anything, but I just wondered if I should see my GP?

I have had a few miscarriages in the past and I'd rather know what to expect I.e early miscarriage or nuts perimenopause symptoms Grin

I did both tests yesterday evening - they are the 6 days early type.

I could smell a weird smell on myself all day which made me think I should test.

I think I need HRT, I can't go through the next few months feeling pregnant.and smelling weird.

Haven't RTFT so apologies if it's already been said, but I wouldn't take that very thin line to be positive. A true positive will be the same colour throughout the width of the line.

I guess you'll just have to wait a few days for some clarity. I hope you're OK either way.

Surely people must realise that most of these great grandmothers who had their last baby at 50 were bringing up a grandchild

With my ggm I've got all the birth certificates to prove it, she had her last dd at 49. I'm a professional genealogist to boot.
Tbh, not wanting to piss on anyone's chips but is having a baby at 50 really something to celebrate? When possible health problems with the baby , maternal age and the fact that mum might start to need care when their adult child is just starting out in life.

this is the thread you chose to ask that kind of question? Especially after what OP wrote. Come on, have some decency.

I know it's not common, but I do know someone who announced her pregnancy (twins) at her 50th Birthday.

She's 60 now, DC are 10 and doing great.

Life is never black and white, and we all cope as best we can. Will be thinking of you 🌷

Just being realistic as so many people on here think it's such a fantastic idea. I'm merely pointing out the potential truth and reality of things.

It's called being supportive. I'm sure OP knows the potential challenges and they seem to be going to a dr who, I'm sure, knows too..

OP doesn't need a tactless smartass to cause more stress than needed.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 09/10/2023 18:53

You can get the pink early response ones on amazon if that helps.

Namechangad12 · 09/10/2023 19:02

Fingers crossed for you OP

Right, did a test before I went to the GP which showed another line. GP's test didn't show anything but I expected that because mine was a 6 days early one.

He suggested waiting another two weeks to see if my period comes, so I'll do that.

I will take some pre-natal vits just in case.

I may well be pregnant but I just can't imagine it won't end in an early miscarriage.

I am not getting my hopes up because I would love another baby. My middle son is currently going through a diagnosis of a terminal condition, so it is impossible to feel hope of any kind.

I am so sorry to hear about your son.

KingsHeath53 · 09/10/2023 19:04

Read the updates.

You don't even need to read/scroll every post in the thread, you can just use the "see all" button on the OP.

🙂
