Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Sorry not got back to you Fatbetty, dd is better than she was but dont want to risk it, not going tomorrow as bit far for me. Also I feel like I am getting a cold so dont want to spread our germs.

Have a good day whatever you do. Will try to re-arrange for a couple of weeks time.

Take it easy Steph. At least it's a great day to stay inside and stay warm and cosy and watch the snow fall.

So is anything on for tomorrow then? What was this about Flying Fortress. Somebody will have to clue me in as I have no idea what is going on. Help!

Hi Fatbetty

I think I read on another thread about the meet up at Flying Fortress at 2pm tomorrow. I think I was getting confused as to what thread it was on and meantioned it on this one ?
I am new here and was just looking for chat and possible meetups around chichester area. I may go tomorrow, then again if it involves lots of people I may chicken out, sad but true
I shall see how I go !

Hi Littlepickle, I was just checking whether tomorrow's meetup at the Flying Fortress is going ahead but got the wrong thread (should have clicked on West Sussex mummies)!

I have been to one MN meet up in another area (but I chickened out of one before that) and really enjoyed it. If you are not sure about whether to go or not, why not turn up, try to locate the other mums and see how you feel before identifying yourself. That's what I did, as I thought all the mums would be really young (and I'm not...) and we would have nothing in common. Happy to say that I was wrong.

fatbetty · 24/02/2006 16:19

littlepickle, hope you made it to the meet up today. I know it's always strange going out and meeting somebody you've never met before. We're all in the same boat really.

Hope you all have a good weekend. At least the sun is out!!! Hurray!

littlepickle · 25/02/2006 22:03

Hi there Fatbetty

I didnt make it to the meet, i was feeling so worn out after a long, cold wet week, I suppose thats more a reason to go ! but I guess when we are a bit blurgh we sometimes act illogically !
I had to be back for a plumber too, trying to get our bathroom updated which is long overdue.
Really do like this site, found lots of recipes I have already tried and tasted to top reviews from dd, and I really do hope to meet up with some of you in RL.

Bye for now x

fatbetty · 26/02/2006 20:38

Know exactly how you feel! Just the thought of venturing out into the cold and unknown - well, I think I would stay home too (no offence to anybody on here!). Hope your home improvements are going well. We had lots of building works done to our old house and it was an absolute nightmare living through it.

funnytype · 28/02/2006 08:13

Right, are we ready to try again for a meet up? Fatbetty if this ends up with just us so be it as we were planning to meet up again anyway so what are the best days for everyone? I prefer Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Can do Mondays or Tuesdays afternoon - but probably Fridays are the best for me. Steph, let's do plan something here soon. I have nothing really going on during the next couple of weeks - so you pick a day Steph.

I'm feeling very lonely and down today. I hate feeling like this - especially when the sun is FINALLY out! No excuses! Trying to motivate myself to get out but I'm somehow stuck to the sofa! Ugh!

satine · 28/02/2006 13:10

I'd love to meet up - I'm near Chichester - but pref not at the Flying Fortress and you have to accompany all under 4s into the bleeding thing so I wouldn't see anyone (other than whizzing past you on the slide!) and it's knackering! I'm struggling to think of alternatives, though. The Weald and Downland Open Air museum is great on a nice day but it's very expensive unless you've got a season ticket thing.

fatbetty · 28/02/2006 13:13

I know what you mean about meeting up at a soft play area (I'm assuming that is what the Flying Fortress is). I'll be chasing after my kids and getting them unstuck from a difficult position that they have wedge themselves into. Maybe a park would be better - but harder to plan that with the iffy weather.

satine · 28/02/2006 13:18

It is a HUGE soft play frame in the shape of a plane, and although my kids enjoy themselves, my dh and I really have to try hard to summon up the energy and enthusiasm to go!!

fatbetty · 28/02/2006 13:21

Sounds great for the kids. I took my kids to a gym class this morning and I'm absolutely knackered from just going to that for 45 minutes. I'm debating about getting out and going for a walk but if I do that - I might just wipe myself out for the rest of the week!

satine · 28/02/2006 13:27

One option might be a village hall. There's one near me in Singleton (on the A286 between Chi and Midhurst) which I could hire for a few quid. If we all brought a few toys, I'll provide coffee and cakes! At least it would be safe and warm and it wouldn't matter if the weather was bad!

fatbetty · 28/02/2006 13:32

That's a good idea. Anybody else up for that?

satine · 28/02/2006 13:37

Just realised, you're in Reigate, fatbetty - it would be a bit of a trek for you to make it over here!

fatbetty · 28/02/2006 13:39

It probably would be, maybe we could find something inbetween. Otherwise I really don't mind the journey.

funnytype · 28/02/2006 17:49

Yeah bit of a trek for me too. Shall we say a meet up Friday 10th? Can anyone make that? How about Arctic Jungle in Crawley? Sorry to hear you are feeling down Fatbetty hope u are feeling better now.

Think I just need to put the kids to bed early (which I did!) and get myself to bed early!

funnytype · 01/03/2006 11:39

So can anyone make the 10th?

OP posts:
fatbetty · 01/03/2006 14:48

Sorry, I forgot to say that I can do the 10th.

funnytype · 02/03/2006 08:06
