Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Ok 29th May it is! There are plenty of restaurants in Horley, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Spanish, what does everyone fancy? I dont mind any of the above.

I am not keen on Chinese, but any of the others sounds good... Have a good long weekend!

Not keen on Chinese either - but I like all the rest (especially Italian). Have a good weekend all.

Hi Ladies! Sorry for the lack of communication. Just got back last week from our holiday. Went back to the good ol' USA and finally getting over the jet lag. Had a good time and nice to come back to some decent weather. Usually we come back to England and have loads of rain and dreary weather.

Hope you all are well. I should be fine to meet up whatever date. Not too picky about food, although I have somewhat gone off Chinese but will eat it.

Off to go throw some dinner together for the troops. Will check in later.

Mary

Hope you had a lovely holiday Mary, lovely to hear from you. So how about Indian? The Fort Raj in Horley is very good. Shall I book it? Hope you have a good weekend, had a good day at work and having the girls christened tomorrow so going to be a busy weekend.

Indian sounds good to me and lots of veggie options! Thanks for organising, Steph...

Fine by me - sorry I have taken a while to reply. Dh and I have had the week off doing things at home and catching up on jobs that need doing so didn't get a chance to get on here. Anyway, glad you had a lovely holiday Mary and I hope the girls' christening went well Steph.

funnytype · 22/05/2007 22:22

Ok will call them tomorrow to book for 4 of us week today, anyone heard from Stacey? Would love it if you could join us next week.

Hope everyone is well, just got back from our hols went to Zante for a week.

I saw Stacey post on another thread and tipped her off, but she said she would be away from 26th for a week (I think), so I guess she won't be joining us.

Mary - let me know if you want a lift so you can have a drink with your meal. I can't drink anyway, given my pg status!!

Firewalker · 27/05/2007 21:25

Steph

Can you tell me where exactly the Fort Raj is and where to park. I used to work opposite the old Waitrose (which I think is now a Lidl) and above the Nationwide Building Society, but I haven't been to Horley since I left there in 1999 so am not very sure of the area now. Thanks

funnytype · 28/05/2007 20:03

You can park in either the car park behind Collingwood Batchelor, the turning for this car park is between Waitrose and Collingwood B. Or park in the car park behind the Nationwide, the turning for this is just past the Nationwide on the same side of the road.

Fort Raj is on Victoria Rd, on the other side of the road from Nationwide and a bit further on, it is almost opposite a Thomson travel agents on the corner. Hopefully if you are all coming by car you could meet at the car park. I will be getting a lift from my hubby and a taxi back.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at 8pm.

Thanks Steph

I will probably park in the Collingwood Batchelor one if that's nearer - I know it. Happy to meet you there if Simon is dropping you off.

Look forward to seeing everyone tonight x

Mumpbump · 29/05/2007 11:48

Just to say that I'm still okay for tonight so see you all later this evening! Helena

funnytype · 29/05/2007 14:22

Can meet at that carpark so we can walk together but I think Simon was hoping to drop me off a bit earlier about 7.45 so if you can do that time we could meet there otherwise will get him to drop me at the restaurant as dont want to be left at car park on my own.

See you all later.

I'll have to see you at the restaurant as I am unlikely to get there before 20h.

Firewalker · 29/05/2007 15:27

Don't worry Steph - probably just easier to meet you in the restaurant as I don't want you hanging around on your own in the car park. If I can't find it, I'll call you as I have your mobile number. See you later.

funnytype · 29/05/2007 18:05

Thats fine, look forward to seeing you all later, havent seen Mary on here for a while, hope you can still make it too.

fatbetty · 30/05/2007 09:21

Lovely seeing you all last night. Hope that you all got home okay. It's so nice to be able to get out now and again without dh and kids. Must do more often really.

Let me know when the next meetup is. I'll try to be a bit better about checking into mumsnet

Mumpbump · 30/05/2007 11:48

Likewise, it was very good to see everyone last night. I thought the food was very good and have told Neil that we have to try to go there sometime - much more tasty than our local and not that far away!

Hope you made it home safely, Paula, and that Madeleine didn't wake you up every two hours, Mary... Thanks for arranging, Steph! Next one in Purley, I guess!! Will post tomorrow about the scan...

Firewalker · 31/05/2007 09:24

Morning

Lovely to see you all on Tuesday. Thanks for arranging Steph as the food was lovely too. If we go ther again I think I'll jsut have a whole plateful of Sag Aloo. That was yummy! I got home fine thanks as the traffic was good and got in a lie in yesterday while DH took Rhianna to nursery and then we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean - OK, but over-long and silly in places, although the special effects were amazing.

Do hope your scan went well Helena.

Dh is going out in Purley tonight with some of his friends for a Thai, so if it's good and we fancy that, that's an option for the next meet.

Mumpbump · 31/05/2007 09:37

Hello all! Pleased to report that the scan went well! The baby was a little unco-operative so it took a while to get all the measurements, but it has everything it should have in the right places so that's a relief. Currently in a breech position, but it's got plenty of time to turn!

Thai in Purley sounds great, Paula - there is a great Thai restaurant in Sevenoaks where I used to live and I really miss it... As I said, the one in Reigate isn't that good...

Hope you all have good weeekends - hopefully the weather will be better this time...

Firewalker · 31/05/2007 12:19

Helena

Great news. So pleased all went well. Don't worry about baby being breech, Rhianna was beech until 38 weeks when she suddenly, of her own accord, turned. It's much more comfortable having them breech as then you don't get all that kicking in the ribs!

Just looked at the weather for the weeknd and it looks good, although Sunday looks a bit dull which is a shame as we're off to the RSPCA summer fun day in Godstone on that day and I was hoping it would be nice and sunny. Oh well, hope everyone else has a good weekend.
