Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Morning! Just to say how nice it was to see you again/meet you (Stacey) yesterday. It was quite a late night for me at the moment, so am feeling pretty whacked out today! Hope the babies slept through and that you got home without any problems, Steph.

Speak later!

Firewalker · 23/03/2007 11:03

Hi there

I hope you all had a lovely time last night. I certainly did and ate far too much. My lucky friend is jetting off to Oz tomorrow morning - not that I'm jealous!

Speak soon.

staceym11 · 23/03/2007 15:48

nice meeting you too Helena! hope the walk wasn't too cold! Would be great to go out again sometime!

last night was quite a late one for me too, and dd has been a nightmare today, as well as ds not eating as usual so a bit stressed, but enjoyed the time off!!

oh and the kids both slept the whole time i was out!! why couldnt they have been badly behaved and then dh would realise what a nightmare they both are

funnytype · 26/03/2007 13:13

It was lovely to meet you Stacey and thanks again for the lovely dress. It was great to see you Mary and Helena again. Must set a date for another meet up next month and hopefully this time all of us can make it.

Hope you are all well, all got colds here yuck!

Hi all

We've just come back from a weekend in Butlins!! We went with friends and their 3 year old daughter and we weren't sure we'd like it. I thought the place would be horrible, heaving and "chavvy" but it wasn't at all. Our accommodation (it was the best option) was basic, but OK, but the weather was great and there is so much to do there, the children loved it. We're going to go again in September! Not as good as Center Parcs, but, much easier with toddlers in tow to get around and just about everything is free.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter. We have several birthday parties to go to and then it's Rhianna's party on 14th April. 20 children and all their parents - eeek!! . Have booked a nervous breakdown for the Sunday!

funnytype · 12/04/2007 14:06

Hi,

Where has everyone gone? Hope u are all well and had a good Easter. Better arrange another meet up soon. Was hoping to meet up in the holidays but assume u have all been busy? Got another job now, start work at Virgin Megastores in Crawley on Saturday, looking forward to that.

Hi Steph

Thanks for Rhianna's birthday card. How is your new job going?

Rhianna's party was great fun - although exhausting. We had 24 children and all their parents, plus my parents. Of course it was so hot as well, but a brilliant time had by all. I'm just so glad we don't have to it again for another year!

Hope everyone is well.

funnytype · 23/04/2007 15:16

Hi Paula,

Glad Rhianna had a lovely birthday, work is going well very tiring but the people seem nice. Seems to have gone quiet on here, where have u all gone? Lets arrange a meet up very soon.

Hiya! Sorry to have been quiet. Have been a bit preoccupied with working on our house. We had the week off and I was doing painting and looking after my stepchildren whilst dh was building the timber-frame garage with our builder! We have polish decorators arriving this evening to sand and varnish the dining room floor - dreading the mess - and paint the outside of the house. And then we are having work done to the garden. Next few weeks are going to be hard to get through and any excuse to get out of the house will be welcome!

May is clear for us at the moment as we are meant to be saving our pennies for my second round of maternity leave...

Firewalker · 24/04/2007 16:15

Hi there

Good luck with everything Helena. Steph glad the job is going well, if tiring. Had three more parties at the weekend so pretty exhausted here, but Dh and I went to theatre and out to dinner on Saturday night which was really nice.

May is really busy for us as have so much going on with Rhianna's thousands of birthday parties, weddings and goodness knows what else. I'd prefer to go for the end of the month as things calm down a bit then. Hope that suits everyone else.

Mumpbump · 26/04/2007 10:36

End of May is better for me. Can I suggest one day in the last week just to get the ball rolling?

I think there was a suggestion that we might try somewhere in Horley so as to be near Steph. We will also have to make the trip north to Purley at some point!

Firewalker · 26/04/2007 14:56

Sure - any day apart from the bank holiday Monday is fine with me and Horley is fine too. Perhaps we can do somewhere near Purley the time after that.

I hope all is well with Mary as she hasn't been on here for ages.

funnytype · 26/04/2007 18:44

The end of may sounds good to me too! Seems like you have been busy busy busy! Hope it all goes well with the decorating Helena and sounds like your family are party animals Paula lol! May is busy for us with the girls being christening a week on Sunday and we are off on hols on the 15th of May for a week so lets make a date for the end of May, how about Tuesday the 29th or Thursday 31st? If we can set the date then we can decide the restaurant?

Hope you are all well, have a bit of cold here, was quite poorly a few days ago with aching and shivering probably some bug going round.

Either date good for me!

Firewalker · 27/04/2007 11:20

Hope you soon feel 100% Steph and that the children's christening goes well. Party animals is the word at the moment We're going away on our own next weekend though for a wedding in Canterbury (Rhianna is staying with my parents) and what I'm really looking forward to is to lay in bed until 10am on the Sunday then get up for a huge breakfast!!

Must admit that out of the two dates I would prefer 31st as my boss is out the office on Friday so I can come into work late!! However, will go with 29th if that suits everyone else.

funnytype · 27/04/2007 15:00

Shall we go for the 31st for the time being and hopefully Mary and Stacey can come too.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Just realised I have a work function on 31st that I can't get out of as it is external. How about 29/30th or even 1st June?

funnytype · 01/05/2007 22:09

Can do the 29th and the 1st June, cant do the 30th as have my amateur dramatics every Wed. Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.

I can do any of them so will go with the flow.

I hope Mary's OK, she's been very quiet. Does anyone have a number for her?

Mumpbump · 02/05/2007 14:28

No. Could try and find Staceym as I think they see each other a bit so she might have contact details. Chances are she's just run off her feet with three children!!!

Can we go for the Friday night then as then no-one has work the next day?

Firewalker · 02/05/2007 15:12

Fine by me - although Steph works on Saturdays, so....

Mumpbump · 02/05/2007 15:36

Oops - overlooked that... I'm happy to do earlier in the week if you'd prefer...

funnytype · 02/05/2007 19:05

I dont mind the Friday but guess as it will be local to me be nice to have a few glasses of wine and not have to worry about work the next day then again having two kids is really work every day!

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 03/05/2007 17:38

Okay - so shall we go for 29 May? What are the foody choices around your way, Steph?

BTW, I drove through Copthorne when I went the wrong way back from Haywards Heath the other day after dropping dsc off. Freddie was having an over-tired howling fit so I missed a turning and didn't realise for about 5 minutes!! Looks like a nice part of the world...
