Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

I'm okay with those dates too. The pub sounds a good place. It's always good to try someplace new.

Firewalker · 19/01/2007 10:40

I agree, it is nice to go somewhere different. Can you give me directions nearer the time please Mumpbump? Do we need to book?

Sorry to be a pain, but I've just found out we have an office move on 8th Feb which means I'll be packing up and unpacking boxes and crates all day and I think I'll be too tired to go out in the evening. Would you mind if we went for the later dates in February? I can do either of them.

Mumpbump · 19/01/2007 12:17

Here is a link to the yellow pages map for the Joshua Tree. You do need to book as it is quite popular, but shouldn't be much of a problem if we agree dates a few weeks off...

22nd sounds good to me. I will put it in my diary for the time-being. Let me know if you want me to make a reservation at the pub...

Firewalker · 23/01/2007 16:49

Sounds good to me too - have put in my diary as well.

Steph - will see you twice in one week!! Did you get my reply to your mail?

Firewalker · 30/01/2007 09:23

Hi all

We seem to have gone very quiet on here! Hope all is OK.

Fatbetty - I wanted to ask you a question as I saw an advert in Rhianna's nursery last week that Gatton park in Reigate has an open day on Sunday pm and it sounds lovely, so we might go if the weather is nice and Rhianna isn't too tired after her party in the morning. Have you been? As it's near you I thought you might and wondered what you though. I was going to pm you, but couldn't find your address, although I know I've seen it.

Thanks

Mumpbump · 06/02/2007 15:52

Was ill last week so didn't post. It looks like there will only be the three of us. Shall I book a table at the pub?

Sorry Firewalker for not getting back to you about Gatton Park. I've been bad about checking mumsnet. I haven't been to Gatton Park but have seen ads about their open days. Have been thinking about going. I think you can even get a little backpack for the kids that talks about the wildlife - okay, maybe that's more for older kids but a nice thought! Let me know if you went and how it was.

Still up for meeting up on the 22nd. I have it down in my diary. Chat to you later - better go and try to bake my cookies dough that I made this morning.

If anyone is looking for a good swimming pool for kids then Horsham is great. It has the shallow pool with jets etc... for babies a deeper pool for young toddlers a jacuzzi for Mums, a good 'swimming' area round the corner a water slide and an outside heated bit with a rapid and swimming area. It is lovely. I personally don't like K2 as much as Horsham.

Hi there

Steph - I haven't had a mail from you so I'm not sure what happened there, but still up for the 19th. Just let me know the timings. Thank you.

Fatbetty - thanks for your info about Gatton Park, we ended up having friends round for lunch so we never got there, but perhaps we'll try and go in March when the weather's better and more Spring-like flowers might be out. Maybe I'll see you there!!

I'm so sorry, but I can no longer do the 22nd as I'm in Liverpool overnight of all things. i've only ever had to go away with work once and this is a one-off because it's half-term, everyone's on leave and I'm the only one who can do it. As you can all make that date, please don't change it for me. I'll just have to come along to the next one. I'm so sorry I won't see you Fatbetty and Mumpbump, but I'll see Steph on the Monday anyway.

Mumpbump · 09/02/2007 10:52

Right - well I shall book a table for 3 for 22nd then, funnytype, fatbetty and me. Sorry you can't make it, firewalker...

Thanks for the tip about Horsham swimming pool, fb. We might try that out one weekend. The jacuzzi sounds very tempting!!

Mumpbump · 13/02/2007 11:50

Table booked in the name of Helena for 3 people at 20h on 22nd Feb. Hope the time is okay, but if not, let me know and I will change...

funnytype · 13/02/2007 15:59

yeah 8pm is ok, I dont know where this pub is, could someone email me directions please at funnytype at hotmail.com. Thanks. How is everyone? We are ok here. Been offered a job today to work in the local estate agents all day Saturday and Sunday morning but am a bit unsure as dont mind the Sat but prefer not to have to work Sundays, I am waiting to hear from an car dealer in Crawley to work just Saturdays so if they offer me a job will have to make an decision.

Hi Steph. If you click on the link in my message of 19 Jan, it should (eventually) open up a map. It's very easy to get to. You basically get on the A23 and stay on it until you get to the crossroads where you turn right for East Surrey Hospital. You go straight over and cross Earlswood Common, passing the tip on your left. It is the first turning on your right. If you pass a green with a small playground, you have missed it, but you can take the next right hand turn (almost back on yourself) and reach it that way as well.

I can understand that you wouldn't want to work all weekend! I'd hold out for the Saturday only job, if I were in your position...

See you soon!

funnytype · 21/02/2007 19:13

Look forward to seeing you both tomorrow, shame Paula couldnt make it but will have
to arrange another next month. Where has all the other ladies gone? Hope you are all well.

Hi Guys! Sorry I haven't been on here lately. Feel like I've been rushing around and getting nothing done.

I have come down with a horrible cold and was hoping to shake it off by today - or at least feel a bit better - but still feeling miserable. I would hate to pass it on to the rest of you as it's not fun being sick and trying to take care of children. (I lost my voice on Monday and it's slowly coming back but the kids just laugh at me when I try to discipline them.) So, I'm afraid that I'm going to pull out of tonight's meetup. I'm so sorry for the late notice but was hoping that I would have been better today. I was really looking forward to our meet up. Let's arrange another one soon!!

Hope the rest of you are well! Mary

funnytype · 22/02/2007 14:43

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 22/02/2007 17:37

I don't mind. The pub is only down the road from me, but a bit of a trek for you, so if you'd rather put off for another day, that's fine by me.

Mumpbump · 22/02/2007 17:40

Steph - I am leaving the office, but will check this thread when I get home to see whether tonight is on or not... Helena

Mumpbump · 22/02/2007 17:42

Mary - I have only just got over a cold which lasted 4 weeks, so I know how you feel. There's a really horrid one going around at the moment. Hope you get better soon and we will definitely have to fix another date up whether Steph and I meet tonight or not...

funnytype · 22/02/2007 18:09

Helena, shall we leave it then as feel a bit tired anyway, arrange for next month.
