Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Hi All! Just wanted to let you know that I might be a little late meeting up. DH has a leaving drink with a friend after work but promises me that he'll be home in time. If I am late I'll meet you at the restaurant.

Good morning! Just a quick message to say it was lovely seeing you all last night and meeting you Mumbump! Hope we can do it again soon. Have a good day.

Hi there

I really enjoyed last night too. Nice to meet you mumpbump and hope to see you all again.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

fatbetty · 03/11/2006 10:35

Hello All! It was so nice to see you all again - and meet you Mumpbump. It was lovely to get out and have a night out without kids and hubbie. Let's organise something again soon! I'll keep you posted on the arrival of LO - and Steph, thanks so much for the gorgeous pink baby clothes!

Have a great weekend and a safe bonfire night

Firewalker · 03/11/2006 12:29

Yes - it would be lovely to meet up again soon. Shall we put a date in the diary in January once baby and Christmas is all out of the way. I always find January really flat (not to mention cold) so it will be nice to have something good (and fattening!!) to look forward to in that month

Mumpbump · 03/11/2006 14:33

Having a hectic day, so sorry for being slow off the mark, but I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed last night and it was good to meet you all. Thanks for organising. Keep me posted on the next evening meet-up... Best of luck with no. 3, fatbetty! Have a good weekend everyone!

No baby yet and no contractions to speak of. boo hoo.

stokeymonkey · 09/11/2006 22:18

I have a cold. A great big stinking snivelling snotty one.
And I can't take any lemsips or beechams or proper drugs so I have to sit here with my head feeling like it's full of cement.
Happy happy happy!!

Firewalker · 10/11/2006 10:17

Oh dear Stokey - I'm sorry to hear that. All I can say is that at least Beanie is not around so you can relax and take it easy anyway. Hope you feel better soon.

Steph - how about 4th December to meet up?

Mary - guess your suspicions might be right then that baby will be late?

Mumpbump · 10/11/2006 17:09

Any news from Stacey about whether her lo has arrived? Just trying to sort out dinner at a weekend with friends and it has hit me how few weekends there are left until Christmas!! Can't believe it... I don't know when I'm going to make it to the shops to do Xmas shopping. Might have to go to Bluewater mid-week, I guess - what's Crawley like at the weekends, Steph?

fatbetty · 10/11/2006 17:19

Stacey had her baby - a little boy (she's on the due in November thread - same as me). Still no news here. I'm sure I'll go over by two weeks again and have to be induced at this point. sigh! Tempted to put up Christmas decorations while I have some motivation left. Shopping at Bluewater anytime during Christmas is a nightmare. Don't know how Crawley is.

funnytype · 12/11/2006 21:52

Paula, 4th December sounds great will put in diary when I can find it lol! Whats Crawley like for shopping? It is not bad but this time of year everywhere is busy, trying to get bits and pieces as I can along for xmas pressies rather than one mad dash at the last minute! Congratulations Stacey on your baby boy, look forward to hearing all about it soon. How are you doing Mary, if we dont hear from you hopefully you might be in labour! Hope you all are having a good weekend.

If you had to choose between Xmas shopping in Crawley and in Bluewater, which would you go for? I have a day off on 11 December and am planning to get the Xmas shopping done in the pm. I am thinking Bluewater might be better, but is further away and likely to be busier. But I think Crawley has all the shops I realistically need - is there a GAP? - so would probably be an easier run...

I'm so indecisive at the moment - ds has 4 (yes 4!) teeth coming through at the moment and is waking up a couple of times a night which is definitely affecting my grey matter.

LIZS · 13/11/2006 15:27

No Gap in Crawley . Bluewater is much more varied

Mumpbump · 13/11/2006 15:37

Well, that's easy then as dh has requested (another!) pair of GAP jeans for one of his Xmas presents - probably his 40th pair!! Bluewater it is!

Firewalker · 14/11/2006 12:34

OK Steph - 4th Dec in diary! Will contact you nearer time to sort out meet-up. My Mum is thrilled to bits as they're coming up to babysit on 2nd Dec so they will see Rhianna twice in three days!

Congratulations to Stacey, I hope all is going well. Mary - any signs as yet?

Mumpbump - i think you will find Bluewater is absolutely HEAVING unless you go very soon. I remember going three years ago in November during the week and it was hideous. I might be tempted to go to Crawley (quite civilised) and then go to Gap in Oxford Street or the one right by Piccadilly tube station to get DH's jeans. Just my thoughts though!

fatbetty · 15/11/2006 08:42

No signs of baby as of yet. Due date on Friday and have midwife appt tomorrow so I imagine I'll get an induction date tomorrow.

We used to live close to Bluewater and Bluewater was practically my second home! It probably will be heaving, but then again, what shopping centre isn't at this time of year. I'm partial to Bluewater as parking is abundant (usually!), and they have everything. I think if you did evening shopping, like around 4ish then it wouldn't be too bad. It only takes me about 45 minutes to get there door to door from Reigate.

Mumpbump · 15/11/2006 11:12

Think I'm going to combine the two. Do most of my shopping in Crawley and then nip to Bluewater for a quick foray into GAP! The nice thing about an inducation is that at least you know when it is going to happen and can get fully psyched up for it...

LIZS · 15/11/2006 11:16

mumpbump Guildford to Bluewater might be a pleasant alternative for Gap . You could even go direct by train to save the hassle of parking.

Mumpbump · 15/11/2006 11:20

Hadn't thought of Guildford, but that's a very good idea! Particularly if you can avoid the parking hassle... Think I'll do the whole lot there! Thanks, Lizs - inspired lateral thinking on your part!

Mumpbump · 16/11/2006 15:20

Hope your midwife appointment was uneventful, fatbetty. Any news on the eta?
