Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Welcome stokey! I am in Copthorne which is near Horley so not far away, I have two daughters Isabella 2 and a half and Sophia 12 months. Do you know what you are having? Are you on maternity leave now?

hello both!

Nope, I have no idea what I'm having. My mother thinks it's a girl, the lady on the till in M&S food reckoned a boy, my husband doesn't care as long as it's healthy, so who knows?
We're loving Reigate - so much nicer than where we came from in south London...at least here we get to sleep uninterrupted through saturday night without being kept awake by police helicopters!
I'm not working, gave up my job months ago in July. Was working in a gallery in London, but it was physically very hard work and I didn't think being asked to spend more than 6 hours a day on my feet with no break was particularly reasonable!
Am available to meet up pretty much anytime as my time is my own at the moment. I guess I'd better make the most of it!

fatbetty · 18/10/2006 19:10

I think it's so much nicer not knowing the sex of the baby. We didn't know with the first 2 and we decided to find out with no.3 and almost wish we didn't know. After 2 boys we were hoping for a girl and I think at least we could prepare (it is a girl btw).

My email is mhoyland at hotmail.com if you want to drop me a line or are interested in meeting up. It's always nice to meet another person - especially when you just moved!

Mumpbump · 19/10/2006 10:49

Ask sounds fine to me! I'm looking forward to it already!

funnytype · 20/10/2006 07:55

Ok so theres 4 of us for this meal, anyone else like to join us?

OP posts:
Firewalker · 22/10/2006 14:37

Right - I'll get it booked up then. Shall we say 8pm meet as before? I make it 5 of us though, not 4 Steph - am I right?

Welcome along Stokeymonkey will look forward to meeting you. I agree that it's better not to know what you are having. We wanted a surprise. I wasn't bothered either way so long as baby was healthy, but DH was rather hoping for a girl - luckily we had one! Make the most of putting your feet up and having some lie-ins!

let me know everyone if 7.45pm in the car park at Morrison's (as before) is OK to meet and I'll book the table at Ask for 8pm.

funnytype · 22/10/2006 15:38

Sorry meant 5, forgot myself! Hope you are having a good weekend so far.

Is everyone happy with this arrangement before I book?

Mumpbump · 27/10/2006 12:40

Fine by me! Can you let us know your real name in which the booking is made?

Firewalker · 27/10/2006 15:15

Right - all booked for 8pm on 2nd Nov for 5 of us.

Mumpbump - my real name is Paula. I've met Stephanie and Mary before but you don't know any of us do you, nor Stokey? We'll meet at the entrance to Morrison's if you like at 7.45 which is where we all park so if you see anyhone hovering it will probably me/us. Otherwise, we can meet you in Ask itself at 8?

Mumpbump · 27/10/2006 15:21

Thanks. I will probably see you in the restaurant, but will look for people lurking around Morrison's if I get there earlier...

staceym11 · 27/10/2006 16:26

hi mumpbump, i live in the new barrats estate at the end of St Johns Road....would be good to have a local meet up as i feel i am late for your meet up in reigate.

iv got a 2 yr old dd and am due my 2nd (a boy) in 2 weeks.

would be nice to get to know some local mums as have only been here 6 months and find it hard to meet people.

Mumpbump · 27/10/2006 16:37

Hiya Stacey! My ds goes to Tiddlywinks nursery on Emlyn Road - that's near you, isn't it? Where were you living beforehand? I'm bimbling around on Saturday afternoon, trying to keep out of dh's way as he has lots of work to do on the house... I will probably be in Redhill town centre at some point so drop me an email if you fancy meeting for a coffee - [email protected]

funnytype · 27/10/2006 17:31

Welcome Stacey, I am sure we could a accommodate another, I will give you all my email address if you wanted to contact through that. It is funnytype at hotmail.com. I live in Copthorne which is near Horley only a 20 min drive to Reigate and live there with my dh and our two daughters Isabella 2 and a half and Sophia 1. Look forward to seeing you all Thursday. Have a good weekend.

Hi all

Good luck with the baby Stacey first of all.

Stokey - maybe I'll get to meet you at a daytime meet up if you ever do it on a Monday (that's my only day off during the week).

Everyone else, look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
