Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Hello Ladies! So sorry that I haven't posted on here for a while. Don't know where time goes! Glad that Sophia had a lovely birthday! Spent the weekend trying to sort through baby clothes....a bigger job than I thought. Now trying to do loads of washing and catching up on things. DH has come down with the mumps and everyone else has runny noses! Feeling bigger and more uncomfortable by the day. Not long now - about 5.5 weeks! And so much to do still!!! Let me know when you would like to meet up with your schedules. I know things are going to get crazy soon so just let me know.

Firewalker · 10/10/2006 10:14

Fatbetty - so sorry to hear that you have been coping with so much. I can imagine the frantic washing you must have been doing recently - how I remember that well, although I didn't have two other children to look after and illness to deal with!!

Happy to fit in with whatever Steph wants to do re meeting up, all I will say is that I can't make week of 16th October as we are off then and already have a dinner and lunch booked up! But any other time is fine. Would prefer not Monday evenings as I'm always really tired on Monday nights, but any other is just fine. I assume it's probably easier to meet in Reigate again as you won't want to travel too far Fatbetty - which is fine with me.

Hope DH and everyone gets better soon.

Nice to hear from you Mary, must be getting hard now you are so close to giving birth and even harder with 3 kids to look after but worth it. Evening meet up would be good maybe we could meet up week commencing 30th October, either Tuesday or Thursday night somewhere in Reigate? Or could meet up somewhere during the day, say Monday 23rd? Hope u are all well, have a stinkin cold at the mo.

I can't do Monday, 23rd as I have an old schoolfriend I haven't seen for ages coming to see me. We've had the date in the diary for a few months. Could do evening of 31st Oct or 2nd Nov. Would prefer 31st as am up in London all day on 2nd Nov so might be a bit of a rush, but I'll go with the flow! I know it's Halloween on 31st though so you may have evening parties and things. Rhianna has one at nursery that day.

Steph - hope your cold gets better soon.

Could do either 31st or 2nd Nov, Mary how about you?

Mumpbump · 13/10/2006 16:11

Hiya. I live in Earlswood, near St. John's Church and have an 8.5 month old ds. If you're meeting up in Reigate on 2 November, I'd be interested. I don't think I can do 31st October as our au pair arrives that day and it might be a bit mean to leave her alone in the house with dh...

fatbetty · 16/10/2006 12:33

Are we thinking meeting up during the day or evening? I think the 2nd would work better for me. Mumpbump, it would be lovely for you to join us.

I'm getting very fed up of being pregnant. Definately starting to waddle and get tired quickly. Hope the baby comes a bit early - but probably will be 2 weeks late.

Mumpbump · 17/10/2006 10:47

I work, so if evening is a possibility, that would be better. If not, I will watch out for the next meet-up. Anyone going to the Brockham Fireworks??

funnytype · 17/10/2006 14:02

Welcome mumpbump! Looks like the 2nd of November is the favourite so shall we say we meet up in Reigate again but which restaurant this time? Have to arrange a day time meet up too although have to be a Monday as only day Paula can do, mumpbump, do you work full time? Of course, Mary we can meet up another day if you like?

Mumpbump · 17/10/2006 14:29

Hiya Steph. Yes, I work full-time, but can be home by 18:30 usually and can go straight to Reigate, if necessary.

funnytype · 17/10/2006 14:30

What do you do for work? I am a full time mum just do Avon for extra cash.

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 17/10/2006 16:48

Hmmmm. What do I do? Well, I work for a mutual protection and indemnity club which is basically where a group of shipowners pay money into a kitty and then pay out for legal liabilities. Self-insurance on a grand scale, I guess, and specific to shipping. Probably easier than being a full-time mum!!

Firewalker · 17/10/2006 20:27

2nd is great - will be good to meet you to Mumpbump. Are we going to go to the same place as before? If so, let me know and I'll book it up.

funnytype · 18/10/2006 10:26

Hi Paula,

Hope you are well, dont mind going to the same place unless you would prefer somewhere different? Will have to arrange a day time meet up soon.

Hi Steph

No I don't mind going there at all - so long as Mary is happy to go there too and Mumpbump (Mumpbump, we went to Ask in Reigate). I'll wait to here from them and then book it up.

When we meet on that evening, we can arrange a daytime meet as well. Be good to get one in before Chrimbo.

Sounds good to me ladies! Let me know what time so I can make sure hubbie is home to watch the kids.

Hope you all are well!

stokeymonkey · 18/10/2006 17:32

Hello all,

We moved to Reigate in the summer, I'm not working, I don't know anyone here and I'm having my first baby at the end of December.
Can you, will you accommodate a newbie?

fatbetty · 18/10/2006 17:42

Hi Stokey! Welcome! How do you like Reigate? We moved here only last summer. I have 2 kids (3.5 and 2) and I'm expecting no.3 mid November. Would love to have you join us in our meetup (the more the merrier!). If you'd like to get together even and just chat that would be great too!
