Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Hello everyone, I usually only read other postings on mumsnet but since I live in Warlingham thought I'd join in on this thread, hope you don't mind!!
I live with my dh, dd (4.9 yrs old) and ds (just 2 yrs old. I haven't really taken my ds to many groups but the ones I have seem to have a lack of boys! So as a result he hasn't got any boy friends to play with!! He just sticks with me whilst my dd plays with her girlfriends!!

fatbetty · 18/08/2006 11:15

Great getting together with you guys last night. It was so nice to get out of the house without the kids in tow and have a civilised meal!! Have a great holiday Paula!

Welcome HappyFace!! Where is Warlingham again? It sounds very familiar, but can't remember where it's at. I'm in Reigate. Know how you feel about ds. My ds2 is also 2 and all his friends are ds1 age (3.5) and he sometimes gets left behind by the older boys.

Kaloo20 · 18/08/2006 12:06

Sorry couldn't make it (crisis in office) but am interested in staying on this thread and meeting at some point.

Have two children slightly older than some of you dd7.5 ds6.5

Firewalker, borders of Sanderstead and Purley ?

VestibularProwess · 18/08/2006 15:24

Oh. Sorry. I didn't realise this was a private conversation.

Kaloo20 · 18/08/2006 15:36

me ? no not a priv con. sorry if it seemed that way

Firewalker · 18/08/2006 16:42

Hi there

Managed to get on her - just doing the last bits of packing before going to pick up DD from nursery.

Lovely to see you both last night too.

Hope to see you again when I get back from holiday. Will be in touch.

Kaloo - yes, in Purley, but on the border of Sanderstead.

Welcome Happyface - Warlingham is very near me, but I can't help out with your DS as I have a DD! Still if he wants another girlfriend....

Take care all and will be on the thread when I get back. No doubt I'll have a lot to read by then! Have a nice weekend at the wedding, Steph.

Love Paula

Hi there

Well we're back from Cornwall. Had a wonderful time, brilliant weather, spent loads of time on the beach where Rhianna was in her element, visited theme park, seal sanctuary - ate far too much.....

Was surprised to see so few posts though!

Steph I didn't realise you did am dram??

Sorry only seen your postings today. The show is on tonight and tomorrow night but tickets are sold out. I havent been well last couple of days and doesnt look I am going to be well enough which is disappointing as had a duet and songs in the chorus. For the last 3 months I have been having aches and shivers for 2 days and also a sore throat. Went to doctors and he perscribed me antibotics which seem to be taking effect but my mouth and tongue seem a bit numb. Am having blood taking next in case I have glanduar fever but didnt think it was recurring. Paula, glad you had a great holiday and will have to arrange a date to meet up s

OP posts:
Firewalker · 01/09/2006 15:05

Oh dear - sorry to hear that Steph. That does sound bad. Hope those antib's do the trick and that's a shame that you are not going to be able to perform after all the work you must have done.

Hope you feel much better by next week and will be in touch.

funnytype · 02/09/2006 09:33

Decided to go last night and didnt overdo the chorus numbers and sang my duet and none could hear that my throat wasnt quite right so that was good. Throat feels so dry today so hope I havent overdone it as got to do it all again tonight. Have a good weekend.

Good for you making the effort to go. Hope the second night went well. Are you feeling better now?

Strange that everyone else on the board suddenly seems to have disappeared!

Glad you are feeling much better Steph.

I've checked the diary - can't do next two Mondays, but could do the one after that (25th. I'll check with Mum later that she's around that day too so I can pop in and see her.

Hope you are around too Mary - must have a get together before DD is born as well.

funnytype · 08/09/2006 15:23

The 25th sounds good, did you want to meet down this way if you are going to see your mum?

Mary, hope you are ok.

fatbetty · 12/09/2006 17:11

Sorry for not writing! My Mom is over from the States and haven't had much time to write. Been busy going places and doing stuff with the kids. Are you talking a daytime meet up or evening on the 25th?

funnytype · 13/09/2006 16:28

Hi Mary,

Nice to hear from you. We are planning to meet during the day on the 25th hope you can make it. We could meet up somewhere or you are both welcome to come over to my house. We must arrange an evening meet up too maybe we could try Horley this time, let me know when you are free. Hope all is well with you.

Hi there

Hope you have a nice time with you Mum Mary.

25th Sept is fine for me so let me know what you think. If it's raining, it might be better to meet at your Steph (if you can bear us all descending on you). I have to work round Rhianna's sleep time (1 - 3pm) but should be OK otherwise.

Must do an evening meet up before Baby appears too.

funnytype · 14/09/2006 14:14

Well we could make it we meet up at 10.30 either my house or somewhere else, any ideas? Hope you are all well and speak soon.

OP posts:
Firewalker · 15/09/2006 13:42

Steph

Would you mind if we met at yours at 10.30 as I really can only stay for about an hour because my Mum won't have seen Rhianna then for three weeks (they've been away) and she's chomping at the bit to do so. She said that as Rhianna sleeps for two hours at lunchtime that makes the time with her even shorter and I can understand.

Is that OK? PM me and tell me where you live if you are happy with that and hopefully we can then arrange an evening meet up soon after that.

I'll bring the biscuits!!

Have a good weekend.
