Hello!

Ok so the plan is a child free yummy dinner. Small babies who can't be left are of course allowed.

Dates? Am assuming Fri/Sat nights are going to be best so

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th 18th or 19th December. Start telling us what you can't do and we can narrow it down!

Venues? I'd suggest the Gourmet Spot (because I love it) but dh might kill me as we are planning a visit to celebrate a sleeping dd (whenever that happens ) Where is good? Doesn't have to be an overtly Christmassy meal does it? Just something nice, fun as a crowd and a break from "family friendly" aka pizza and pasta.

And of course a sign up list!

Indith

Please point eveyone you see over here, lets try to gather the troups!

Arghhh just lost my post!

Child free dinner sounds great, I don't think we have anything booked in the diary but will need to check with DH which weekends we have DSS - would rather it is one of these weekends on the Saturday, as I know we will definitely be at home.

Is it girls only? Because DH won't be able to come as he'll have to look after DS & DSS.

Indith · 27/10/2009 20:19

I was going with girls only BT, I'd have to pay for a babysitter otherwise!

I've realised I can't do the 12th as I'm taking the Rainbows to the panto and if you want a Saturday BT then that leaves

5th or 19th

Girls only it is!!

Anyone else?

5th or 19th is okay with me.

LissyGlitter · 27/10/2009 21:59

Ooh, i fancy this! Not finalised when I am visiting family before christmas yet, but keep me informed!

Indith · 28/10/2009 14:16

Christmas booze meet up sounds good. I think the 5th would be better for me but I may be able to strong arm DP into covering other dates.

good luck for the next few weeks Lissy.

Indith · 29/10/2009 13:24

Ok so 5th? Where?

If you see anyone else around then stalk them until they come over here! I'm off down to Bristol tonight so I shall not be bumping much at the weekend.

I don't mind where we go.
Except not that chinese buffet opposite the Gates. I didn't like any of the food there.

Indith · 02/11/2009 17:30

Lol ok not the Chinese!

What do people want? I think places will be getting pretty busy then so I will keep bumping and book something in a week maybe?

juneybean · 03/11/2009 16:24

5th would be great for me!

Where we going? I'll probably have to drive as the fare for a taxi from here to Durham would be £20 or so! lol

I'm easy though, I like chinese, italian, traditional, mexican

Indith · 03/11/2009 16:27

right I have been stalkling people

If I could have a sign up llist pleae and an idea of where you can get to/where you are coming from/if you can offer lifts and food likes or dislikes

Those having babies soon/with small ones remember little ones are welcome and of course you don't have to commit 100% jyst generally better to book a table and then make the booking smaller than the other way round

OP posts:
juneybean · 03/11/2009 16:27

What about Fat Buddha (hoping that isn't the 'chinese buffet opposite the gates') lol

Indith · 03/11/2009 16:29

Thanks Juney

juneybean · 03/11/2009 16:29

Coming from Washington (NE38) can offer lifts if some petrol money is offered! lol

I don't mind driving wherever as long as there's free/cheap parking!

I like indian, chinese, italian, mexican

I don't like sushi

Indith · 03/11/2009 16:30

could do. Can't remember what the Chinese is called now, it used to be the salmonella elephant then it moved a few yards and revamped.

stickylittlefingers · 03/11/2009 16:31

ooh, I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier! I'm sure the fifth is fine (well, tis fine for me, just the babysitting DH would have to be consulted ).

I hardly ever go out in Durham! Actually, that should read I hardly ever go out unless it's with work. The thai place off Old Elvet was nice when I went there once. Also I totally adore curries - dp tells me the one up Claypath (is it the Capital?) is quite good. Other than that, I think I've only ever been to child friendly places like Cage Rouge and Bella Italia and the places by the Gala (and though I don't care deeply, my preference would be to not go somewhere I would take the children if poss).

Hooray! This'll be fun (and I don't have to drive anywhere )
