Hello!

Ok so the plan is a child free yummy dinner. Small babies who can't be left are of course allowed.

Dates? Am assuming Fri/Sat nights are going to be best so

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th 18th or 19th December. Start telling us what you can't do and we can narrow it down!

Venues? I'd suggest the Gourmet Spot (because I love it) but dh might kill me as we are planning a visit to celebrate a sleeping dd (whenever that happens ) Where is good? Doesn't have to be an overtly Christmassy meal does it? Just something nice, fun as a crowd and a break from "family friendly" aka pizza and pasta.

And of course a sign up list!

Indith

Please point eveyone you see over here, lets try to gather the troups!

Hi - so is the plan still to meet up round 7.30pm holding s - inside the Market Tavern?

What are we going to do with the biscuits - will we be swapping them kris kindle style or just dunking them in our beer

BouncingTurtle · 04/12/2009 17:22

I will be out of contact for most of tomorrow, as I will be at my inlaws for at my nieces' joint birthday party.

However I should tell you that right now I am feeling like shit

I have a horrid cold last few days and been desperately hoping I would be feeling better before tomorrow night. I am definitely getting an early night tonight and taking pain killers.

So watch this space

Indith · 04/12/2009 17:35

I hope there will be other people brandishing biscuits slf or I shall feel very daft! I should be there 7.30 ish.

BT hope you feel better for tomorrow. Failing that just dose yourself up and have a good hot curry to sort you out

gin in the pub

followed by:
curry
garlic naan
pilau rice

Happy Indith

Until I get home and find dd wide awake because she will have woken about 9 as usual and refused to go back to sleep without a bf.

I am panicking a little about parking I imagine Old Elvet will be full by that time and I have never done a multi story before and I had a proper full on panic attack in the car on Monday because I couldn't get out of a little, very full carpark and scraped the car rather badly on the wall

Fortunately I have driven DH's huge repmobile into Prince Bishops before lol, so I will be okay!

Really hope I haven't passed this on to everyone!!

BettySwollux · 06/12/2009 22:19

Hi all, great to see you all again, and lovely to meet sticky.

Juney, thanks so much for the lift .

Hope you feel better soon BT.

Indith · 07/12/2009 11:19

It felt so good to get out! Not done that for over a year!

Really nice to see everyone and have conversations that were not interrupted by "no don't hit" "yes what is it dear?" "you'd like a biscuit? Oh go on then". Great to meet slf too.

I shall look forward to a new year event

It sounds like you all had a lovely time. I'll definitely try and make it next time if that's ok.

My baby finally arrived! James Francis, born on Friday evening. He's lovely

If any of you are bookish/ adult-conversation-starved types, can I direct you to my Baby Book Group idea? here

Indith · 07/12/2009 17:16

Ooo welcome little James!

BouncingTurtle · 07/12/2009 23:35

Congrats Laugs!!!

stickylittlefingers · 08/12/2009 12:10

Thanks for a really great evening - I had such a nice time. Had no idea what I was letting myself in for and you were all so fun and lovely!

Congratulations Laugs! How wonderful! I'm sorry I haven't got to meet you yet... but I'm off to look at your thread now because one book club is proving just not to be enough for me..

Indith - sorry I only remembered at the last minute about the parking - it is a scheme that the Sage set up, apparently, and contacted various big firms around the place to see if people wanted spaces at their cheap rate. As you say, it could be worth your dh's firm contacting them to see if there is any possibility to extend the scheme to them.

Indith · 08/12/2009 15:44

Thanks slf, I've told him. It certainly seems worth and ask inthe right direction as the whole office is moving from somewhere with a carpark to the city centre so there are going to be a lot of people wanting to find somewhere!

Indith - I had a quick word with my friend who will be working in Newcastle city centre (and knows other people who work there). If your DH can get there early enough there is free parking in Chester-le-Street train station carpark, it is quite small though. Train service from there to Newcastle is pretty good, that might be an option? In addition, if he can't get in there, he can park in Lidl - my friend is currently working in Chester-le-Street says that she has parked in Lidl car park all day without any problems - despite the warnings that it is for shoppers only.
Otherwise, it is fairly cheap to park in Heworth and then get the metro from there.
