Hello!

Ok so the plan is a child free yummy dinner. Small babies who can't be left are of course allowed.

Dates? Am assuming Fri/Sat nights are going to be best so

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th 18th or 19th December. Start telling us what you can't do and we can narrow it down!

Venues? I'd suggest the Gourmet Spot (because I love it) but dh might kill me as we are planning a visit to celebrate a sleeping dd (whenever that happens ) Where is good? Doesn't have to be an overtly Christmassy meal does it? Just something nice, fun as a crowd and a break from "family friendly" aka pizza and pasta.

And of course a sign up list!

Indith

Please point eveyone you see over here, lets try to gather the troups!

LissyGlitter · 03/11/2009 17:59

I will come if I am healthy enough after the birth (I bloody well should be as the section is booked for the 16th).

Coming from Washington (NE37) and would love a lift if anyone has space for me and possibly a newborn (depending on how BF goes). Juneybean - do you have space? I can give petrol money!

Looking good

How do people feel about the Capital? Curry is a good one as a group, lots of easy sharing around.

OP posts:
juneybean · 03/11/2009 21:25

Yep Lissy I can take my car seat out and make space for tiny one (as long as I get a cuddle!)

I like curry!

spiggy · 03/11/2009 21:28

have crawled out of my sick bed to add my name to the list (DS gave me his damn lurgey)

I'm coming from Boldon (NE36) I'll be aiming to get public transport so I can have a drink which will probably mean me going into Newcastle or Sunderland and out again. Not fussy about food except I'd prefer not a purely veggie restaurant. Don't know Durham so happy to be guided by anyone elses suggestions. (although have to say Indith that Gourment spot looked yummy, shame DP never takes me out!)

juneybean · 03/11/2009 21:39

Spiggy if you can get a bus from Boldon to Concord bus station in washington I could pick you up as it's near where Lissy is

spiggy · 03/11/2009 22:03

oooh thanks juney... will have a look and see what buses are available. I'm getting all excited about christmas now!

spiggy · 03/11/2009 22:14

just checked and I can get to concord bus station from Heworth within 15 mins so that will be dead easy. Sign me up for the juney taxi please

LissyGlitter · 03/11/2009 22:24
Smile
juneybean · 03/11/2009 22:26

Cool that's my car full now [grins]

LissyGlitter · 03/11/2009 22:36

Spiggy - if you are getting the M1 or M2 from Heworth to Concord you will go past the end of my road, if you want you could come to mine to wait for juney - that way you aren't waiting in the cold. The stop is Usworth Sixth Form College.

Indith · 04/11/2009 13:35

any more takers?

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 04/11/2009 16:34

Teamonster - I'll be coming from Teesside too - I live in Thornaby.

As I will be borrowing DH's company car, I am more than happy to drive, you can have a drink then (I don't drink except for Bailey's).

There is a very nice Mexican as well but I don't know where it is, I think it might be near the Gala theatre?
I also like Indian and Italian food.

I also don't sushi or any kind of fish!

BettySwollux · 04/11/2009 20:35

Oh this is where you all are!

Yep, sign me up for the 5th.
Curry sounds good.
BT, was it Chiquitos? We went there once and it wasnt very nice.
Might serve us right for ordering steak in a mexican restaurant though.

Indith · 04/11/2009 21:11
