Hello!

Ok so the plan is a child free yummy dinner. Small babies who can't be left are of course allowed.

Dates? Am assuming Fri/Sat nights are going to be best so

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th 18th or 19th December. Start telling us what you can't do and we can narrow it down!

Venues? I'd suggest the Gourmet Spot (because I love it) but dh might kill me as we are planning a visit to celebrate a sleeping dd (whenever that happens ) Where is good? Doesn't have to be an overtly Christmassy meal does it? Just something nice, fun as a crowd and a break from "family friendly" aka pizza and pasta.

And of course a sign up list!

Indith

Please point eveyone you see over here, lets try to gather the troups!

Sorry, I meant to come on here earlier after you kindly came and found me Indith!

I don't think I'll be able to make it this time - baby is due on the 26th Nov and DD was 2 weeks late, so I'm expecting to be massively overdue and fed up on the 5th (mind you, a hot curry and a hobble up that hill to the train station might be the perfect way to bring on labour )

If anyone fancies doing some child/baby-friendly daytime stuff nearer Christmas let me know. There are lots of nice things going on in Newcastle, such as The Snowman at The Sage, which I mean to go to every year but never quite make it.

juneybean · 12/11/2009 17:59

Laugs...I think I've met you before .... in the library on a Wednesday lol

Laugs · 12/11/2009 18:17

Ooh really? How exciting. What do you/ your DC look like?

juneybean · 12/11/2009 18:19

I'm actually a nanny but we had a chat last week about you being ready to pop and I think you thought I was mum but I didn't think til afterwards that I should have said lol.

I wear glasses and my little charge is almost 2 with light brown hair. I'm on the larger side too lol if that helps hehe

Laugs · 12/11/2009 18:30

Yes, I remember. Hello! You missed some cracking stories about tigers this week... But how did you know I was me, IYKWIM?

juneybean · 12/11/2009 18:31

Mutual friend on FB, recognised LO in your icon lol, super stalker

I'll be there next week I think, finished at 2pm yesterday so couldn't come

Laugs · 12/11/2009 18:35

Aah... was thinking I must have said something very Mumsnet-ish when we spoke. I'll be there next week too, unless the baby comes early!

Indith · 13/11/2009 09:17

Laugs if you are overdue and change your mind you'll be most welcome!

Right so am going to book today for the following:

Indith
Spiggy
BT
juneybean
lissy providing things don't go wrong/she doesn't end up visiting family.
stickylittlefingers
teamonster
Betty
foxytocin
Indith's friend who isn't a MNer but really should be.

Post any changes of mind here so I can ammend the booking. Anyone who comes to this thread late and wants to come too just yell!

Laugs we went to the Snowman last year and dd1 (who was 4 at the time) really enjoyed it. She amused all the oldies in our row by barely being able to contain her urge to dance in the first half (which was all snow-related tunes)

Indith · 13/11/2009 19:08

Ok table is booked!

Saturday 5th December at The Capital on Claypath.

10 people

8.30 (they already have a table of 10 coming at 8 so they said to keep up good service best a bit later but if we arrive a bit early no problem)

So meet from 7.30 in the Market Tavern then off for curry. If anyone is just meeting at the restaurant the table is booked under Roberts.

We need a way of recognising each other in the pub, we've not all met before! Can we do a small flower pinned on or something? All carry a copy of the Daily Mail?

juneybean · 13/11/2009 23:13

As per SPB's recent thread I think we should all wear alice bands

Laugs · 14/11/2009 08:30

It sounds lovely stickylittlefingers. I took DD on the day last year to see if we could get tickets, but it had sold out. She is only 3 but there seemed to be a lot of young children going.

BouncingTurtle · 16/11/2009 14:53

'All carry a copy of the Daily Mail?'

That we can set fire to,presumably? No problem finding each other then

Indith · 16/11/2009 15:20

How far is it to walk between pub where we meet and resaurant?
Im thinking what shoes?

Do I wear my boots with the wobbly heel, the shoes that I love but cant walk far in, or am I gonna have to ransack the house for my fave lost boot?

OR.......shall I buy some new ones?

Indith · 18/11/2009 08:14

What a dilema! Not far at all but up a hill.

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 18/11/2009 14:22

New boots, new boots!!!

BettySwollux · 18/11/2009 20:59

Ooh a hill?
Not sure I like the sound of that.

BT you have twisted my arm.
New boots it is then!

(Unless I find my fave lost boot .)

Indith · 19/11/2009 13:00

Betty dear we are meeting in Durham. Everywhere is up a hill.

juneybean · 20/11/2009 11:46

stickylittlefingers · 20/11/2009 15:23

Sorry, am obviously more suited to working on the phones...

juneybean · 20/11/2009 15:45

Haha well...

stickylittlefingers · 20/11/2009 16:00

Sorry, it's Friday afternoon and I'm a bit frazzled!

juneybean · 20/11/2009 16:12

You at work? When do you finish?

stickylittlefingers · 20/11/2009 16:29

Well, sooner if I stopped farting about on Mumsnet ! I think I've only got about an hour to go, it's just being a bit dull... sigh... but, as I keep telling myself, I should be pleased I have a job and stop complaining and do some drafting!
