Anyone fancy meeting up and having a picnic in the summer holidays at Nottingham castle - it's free to get in and there a lovely playarea and area to have a chat and picnic.

Would love to come as well, pretty free for the second week onwards.

Presume it's fairly easy to get to on foot/bus?

Hulababy · 05/06/2005 21:50

No idea of distance, but it would seem there are a few of us coming by train and walking to castle - so must be quite close!

Hulababy · 05/06/2005 21:53

This map of the centre suggests it is pretty close to station.

pootlepod · 05/06/2005 21:53

Ohh, that's grand, thank you.

Quite excited there's going to be a meet close to me.

jamiesam · 05/06/2005 22:34

Blooming marvellous! Thursday 11th August we could do, please count us in. We'd probably drive as I don't think I can trust my 2 ds's on the train for the entire Sheff to Nott. journey. (What a coward I am!)
(Note to Senora - will you be bringing Slef along or just writing him about the day???)

Frizbe · 05/06/2005 22:39

Aye Hula, its not far from the station at all, you just have to hop over the main road twice! but its got crossings all over it, so you shouldn't have too much bother!

Frizbe · 05/06/2005 22:42

jamiesam, if you don't want to drive all the way into the centre of Notts, you can get the tram in from J26, (well just off it anyway!)get off in the market square and just walk up Friar Lane to the castle! Think its couple of quid return, not sure what age you start paying for kids, but dd is 19mths and currently free!

jamiesam · 05/06/2005 22:48

Frizbe - thanks for that tip! I'd spotted someone refer to tram above/below and meant to ask about it. Didn't know there are trams in Nottingham, my ds's are addicted to them (spotting and riding) here in Sheffield, so it will make their day.

fairydust · 06/06/2005 08:01

fantastic - lots more mummy's and little um's

Frizbe are you catching train ???

OP posts:
Hulababy · 06/06/2005 08:35

lilaclotus · 06/06/2005 08:39
