Shall we start a crusade? I really wish I'd taken my complaint further. I am a nurse, but for two reasons I never told them my proffesion whilest I was there. Firstly, I was a new and scared mum, who knows very little about maternity. Secondly, and even more importantly, I knew it would change the way they treated me, and I didn't want that. The more I think about it the more I would like to do something proper about it.

Flossam · 27/05/2005 23:43

try that again, profession. What happens to me after one glass of wine?!

tamula · 01/06/2005 16:24

Hi ladies,

I live between Manor Park and Ilford Station, but I dont really do Manor Park, I just walk up to Ilford when necessary.

I have a dd 2months old.

Has anyone actually met up, or do we just chat? I really need to lose some of my baby weight (well baby and junk food weight) Anyone wanna meet up and support each other in the battle against the jaffa cakes? Could also do with coffee morings and general woman talk heehee

Tam N Ava Xx

Bubbaloo..let us know as soon as you can how things go. Did you have an OK time with your first?

Where would be a good place to meet up girls?

fee77 · 01/06/2005 22:23

Ohhh can i gate crash!
I live in Hornchurch, and have 20mth dd.
I didn'tknow there were so many essex girls!
Don't know what else to say really! I taught in a school in Manor Park once - and never again!
Oh and i had dd at Harold wood - they were all really nice, but the food was awful. DH brought me cheese and salad cream sandwiches every day!

tamula · 01/06/2005 22:50

Hi Lou and fee77,

I love cheese, cucumber and salad cream sarnies! yum!

The more the merrier i say, i guess just where to meet is the thing in question?!

Thanks for that bubba, i figured it was an instant thing, i'll lokkk out for it tomorrow halz...

why dont we pool some ideas for a place to meet and choose one that we all agree with?

I'm a lazy cow so i say Ilford

tamula · 01/06/2005 22:51

Bubbaloo, hope your resting and get loads of sleep while you can!

bubbaloo · 02/06/2005 08:55

hi fee77,
nice to "see" another local mum.
im also having my baby at harold wood so thats good news and ive got a whole bag of food already packed-i like to be prepared.

yes loulabelle-we've chosen the names oscar james so lets hope the sonographer was right on the sex!

hi lukesmama-im trying to sleep but finding it really hard as im so uncomfortable at the mo.the afternoon isnt too bad as its lovely and quiet round here,dh's at work and the cats are in the garden.

tamula · 02/06/2005 20:13

Loulabelle, are you in a Sure Start catchment area? They usually have lots of local groups and events etc... Theres a Little Ilford one that I'm in, I have been to one group last week and it was actually quite good, you can tag along anytime

loulabelle222 · 03/06/2005 10:46

i think so. I really need to take ds to one!

OP posts:
loulabelle222 · 03/06/2005 10:55

any ideas of what i can do with ds now its getting warmer. I am taking him swimming today .. any other ideas

OP posts:
tamula · 03/06/2005 11:15

Have you taken him to Valentines Park? Its just a short walk from you. On a good day its nice for them to have a runabout, again i'm happy to come with for the walk and change of scenery, you may meet mums with children about your ds age too...

Its a bit of an outing, but when i was nannying i used to take the kids to battersea Park in the summer, it has a quaint wee zoo and nice play area.

Also local papers have info on activity days held every suimmer in local parks.

lukesmama · 03/06/2005 13:34

Hi Loulabelle
How about Hainault Country Park,my DS loves it we spend a few hours there feeding the ducks and looking at all the farm animals, and best of all it is free.

bubbaloo · 03/06/2005 14:30

hi lukesmama,
do they still have the cafe and toilets there do you know? we were only talking about that place the other day, saying it'll be a nice place to take the baby.
by the way...thanks for the info on the annie prendergast.i was there this morning seeing the midwife,so i asked her.the good news is yes i can take the baby there-i wont have to go seven kings so im really pleased.

Pinotmum · 03/06/2005 20:03

Bubbloo, yes the toilets are quite new I think but the cafes rather limited to sy the least. It's more of a tuck shop How are you? Still waiting ? Like your choice of names by the way, they're cool
