Would anyone be up for it?

Could it be arranged somewhere in the middle of the country?

And would Carrie and Justine be interested?

La Tasca sounds great to me MTS maybe us two should be the organisers eh...eh? Drags you into it kicking and screaming and ties you to a chair with 'Organiser' written on the back!

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 16:14

fyi - I am on holiday 3 - 10 July

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:15

Well fine JT I was thinking maybe Saturday the 16th anyway lol..

mummytosteven · 12/04/2005 16:15

in terms of hotels IIRC there is a travellodge in central manchester, near Oxford Road station.

lilibet · 12/04/2005 16:16

I live near Manchester so that would be great for me, but aren't we better finding out how many wnat to come - if you have upwards of 50 you could struggle getting a restaraunt? (Sp?)

I woudl say what about sorting a date and getting numbers first?

I'm away 14 - 28 July and I missed the last one in Beety's field

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:18

Oh FGS I can't compensate for both of your silly holiday timings... I'll think of something!...

Ok date first, then numbers, then checking the size of La Tasca...

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:19

To accommodate both of your silly holidays lol it's going to have to be either the 2nd or the 30th! If it's on a Saturday that is.

hotmama · 12/04/2005 16:22

Can I join your gang? Am going on hols mid July so I will come if the date is free - a date will just have to be arranged to suit the majority - what about an annual/six monthly meet-up?

dyzzidi · 12/04/2005 16:35

I'm in manchester and would love to come !!

Just passedmy driving test today so don't mind where it is

Gizmo · 12/04/2005 16:37

And what about dancing????

I haven't embarrassed myself adequately on the dancefloor for ages. I'm assuming there are still nightclubs in Manchester since my student 'madchester' days?

golds · 12/04/2005 16:41

Love lavenderrs suggestion of Stafford, as I live in Stafford, I would definately come, not able to offer a big back garden to camp in though - sorry.

Down the road in Rugeley, you have a few campsite right in the heart of Cannock Chase.

Sorry if you have already decided where to go - haven't read all the thread, count me in if you decide local to me

dyzzidi · 12/04/2005 16:45

Heaton park has a hotel next to it a travel lodge I thik and good tram links int Mcr town centre fo a meal. I love La tasca but it is very busy so bookings would have to be made well in advance.

I can post a list of reasonable hotels tomorrow if people want, i have to book them for work so have a reasonable priced list.

Just finishing up work for the day will check back either later or in morning!

dyzzidi · 12/04/2005 16:46

Gizmo I can always do dancing!!!!!!!!!

golds · 12/04/2005 16:46

Opps just scanned down and read that its Manchester, sorry for the interruption

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:53

I'll book restaurant don't worry, a lot of people are on their hols so thinking around the 2nd of July at the moment that's the 2ND OF JULY get back to me on the date? And then I can think of numbers and then I can think of nightclubs!!

dyzzidi · 12/04/2005 16:58

Im up for a meet up....what about finding a hotel that offers evening entertainment???? I did this once before and we booked a hotel that had a health club attached so those that wanted to chill out in the pools and sauna could do so. Those that wanted to go shopping headed off for the day. On the evening the hotel organised a big sit down meal, followed by "a ladys night", drag queen, couple of rather young fit young men who took off all their clothes because the room was very hot and steamy....and the evening finished with a disco. Those that did not want to "see" were able to tottle off to another bar and have a natter until the disc started.

It cost £60 for B&B, evening meal and entertainment.

A good day/night was had by all and we have organised the same thing again for next year.

Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 19:31

Hey cool, is it in Manchester then! Easy for me! When is it? 2nd of what?

Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 19:32

Oh July, sorry! I can do that! Hurrah!

lilibet · 12/04/2005 19:52

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 20:18

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not the 2nd of July I'm on Holiday as well and since it was my idea I demand it to be a different date

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 20:20

Oh I think that's only fair - come on, different date!

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 20:20

Just to make sure NOT the 2nd of July

BTW though those plans sound great and Canal Street is fab for drinks.
