Well, she was fine...niot sure whether she realised what was going on but I'm home...I'm alone...and I can't escape the fact that i have a date with the hoover...

binkleandflip · 20/11/2007 10:36

Glad your dd was ok at playschoold drop off Berrie, I say sod the hoovering and reward yourself with a nice big brew and a cake for being so brave!!

Berrie · 20/11/2007 10:42

Done that already!

Berrie · 20/11/2007 10:44

Am going to think twice about making such a delicious birthday cake then cancelling all the guests next year. Gonna stick to the old victoria sandwhich.

Berrie · 20/11/2007 10:44

sandwich...

Zebedeedoodah · 20/11/2007 10:53

Can't go wrong with a victoria sarnie Berrie, that's what I say. Glad it went well though.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/11/2007 11:01

It's weird to be alone though isn't it?

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/11/2007 11:14

Very odd...no tv...no fighting...I can speak to people on the phone, read a book, go to the loo, hoover...no-one minds!

LyraSilvertongue · 20/11/2007 11:19

Liberating, isn't it. And you can leave the house without any faff/last minute wee wees.
I've got DS2 at home today because he had a high temperature this morning but it's been really nice. We've had a hot bubbly bath together while listening to LM's album (it's definitely a grower) and now he's playing his keyboard while warbling his own made-up song into the microphone, Elton John-style. It's amazing the difference a dose of ibuprofen can make.

Zebedeedoodah · 20/11/2007 11:27

Which keyboard Lyra? I'm thinking of getting DS one for Christmas as he loves the one at nursery, but I don't want to spend too much.

Ooh, and you get to drink a whole cup of coffee in peace whilst it's still hot.

Berrie · 20/11/2007 11:27

Yes indeed.
We had a drama this morning. DS came in at 6.20 saying he'd bumped his head on his bed) He had a bump on his temple. He cried and cried for an hour and couldn't tell us what was wrong which was most unlike him, he doesn't fuss. He sid he felt sick. He suddenly fell asleep right in front of me...I was all set for calling an ambulance. I roused him a couple of times to check he wasn't unconcious, went to the loo, got dressed, woke him up properly and he sat up and watched Rory the racing car and ate some rice crispies. It was all very strange...he seemed to be fine so off they went to playschool but I'm still a bit worried. Do you think I did the right thing?

Berrie · 20/11/2007 11:28

...and you can put it down anywhere...

Berrie · 20/11/2007 11:33

Anyone know any thing about curling tongs...I bought some and nothing happens!

Zebedeedoodah · 20/11/2007 12:00

Sorry. Can't help on curling tongs. My hair's dead straight and it likes it that way.

I hope DS is all right, but if he seemed fine, I think you did the right thing. You can always phone to check he's ok.

binkleandflip · 20/11/2007 14:04

dd has a keyboard that lights up and has pre-recorded tunes that you can learn plus a microphone - it's rather fab actually - it was from Early Learning Centre and is around £45 I think - we got it two years ago and the batteries (much to my occasional distress) are still going strong!!

LyraSilvertongue · 20/11/2007 14:16

Binkle, I think we've got the same one. Ours is also from ELC and it's blue and green with the prerecorded songs and lights and microphone. It's even gone an effects pedal. I don't think we paid more than £30 though.
Berrie, that must have been scary. But the fact that he perked up means he must be fine, surely. He probably was just worn out from crying when he fell asleep suddenly. You could always give NHS Direct a call if you're still worried.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 20/11/2007 14:21

yes, dd's is pink with pedal and I remember they had the blue/green one at the same time - definately the same one, so cheaper than I remembered!

binkleandflip · 20/11/2007 20:32

evening where is everyone??

LyraSilvertongue · 20/11/2007 22:28

Dunno.

OP posts:
Berrie · 21/11/2007 07:16

In bed of course!

Have been going very early this week...am feeling rather down again

binkleandflip · 21/11/2007 10:01

On dear Berrie, is it anything specific bothering you or just the 'weight of the world' kind of feeling?

LyraSilvertongue · 21/11/2007 10:24

Are the ADs not working anymore Berrie? Are you still taking them?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 21/11/2007 10:24

Sorry if that was too personal a question.

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 21/11/2007 10:27

Hey Berrie ! I'm trying to think of something to cheer you up a little. Will http://www.turbophoto.com/Free-Stock-Images/Images/Gummy%20Drops.jpg this do?

Zebedeedoodah · 21/11/2007 10:27

Opps: Will this do?
