My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

Ros we aren't likely to get to any either, may be dh could take dd to one but I'm not up to it and in the dark he is likely to loose ds, so it is too difficult for him to take both of them on his own.

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 02/11/2007 18:00

Oh yeah and you can park on Queen's Road and walk through to Friar's Stile Road via Park Road or Marborough Road BTW

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 02/11/2007 18:03

Lemon I'd say about 6.40/6.45pm -

Paddlechick666 · 02/11/2007 18:21

evening all

mental day at work. foxie, sorry didn't reply to your text. hope train got shifting and you were okay.

think 7pm too late for dd who is normally asleep by then.

i'd be up for richmond athletic ground on sunday if anyone else is going?

ros, finally dd slept until 6am today. bonus!

i hate coming home from work on a friday night. richmond is always so full of people going to pubs and restaurants and the cinema holding hands and looking loved up. or parents with small babies strolling around the shops.

oh well, time for dd's bath. have seen her for all of 40 mins this evening!

rosmerta · 02/11/2007 18:58

You're right paddle, I should be grateful that he's just waking up at 6 and not any earlier! I'm hoping that having the next week at my parents will get him back on track, they have a blind in the room he sleeps in which doesn't let in even a chink of light and he usually sleeps really late there!

Sorry you're having a mental day btw, and I know its not nice not seeing dd for very long tonight but you will have the next two full days with her

MrsRecycle · 02/11/2007 19:25

Hi everyone!

We're off to a "Charlie & the chocolate factory" owners party at the caravan site tomorrow and they always have a brilliant fireworks display (not to mention chocolate fountains everywhere).

Had a lovely week in Tenerife taking my mind off next Monday (when I have the biopsy). dds had a lovely time swimming all day long whilst ds slept and I sunbathed (when the sun was out). ds liked it so much he decided to reset the combination on the safe (that I couldn't even do) and we couldn't get our passports out to go home. The hotel had to call out the safe company to break in. Not bad programming for a 14 month old eh?

Foxie - thanks for the advice re car - hope your sister's move goes ok tomorrow.

pc - who knows some of them are probably looking at you wishing they could go home and get lots of cuddles off their son/daughter.

Ros - did I read you were looking for work? My df works at EMC, I could get her to ask around for you.

sfxmum · 02/11/2007 20:03

hi mrsR nice to see you around, hope you have a good weekend, sounds yum. be thinking of you on monday {{hugs}}

paddle my old maiden aunt sneer at too much coupledom saying it will all probably end in tearsshe is such a cheerful and optimistic soul!

think we are leaning towards Ravenscourt but friday night is not decision time for dh am I don't fancy making executive decisions just yet

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 02/11/2007 22:15

Hi Mrs R [waves]

I'll be thinking of you Monay too

Did my sister e-mail you to tell you she didn't need your DH? She can be a bit self centered sometimes and forgets

Paddlechick666 · 03/11/2007 08:07

dd slept till 7am

i on the other hand was up at 3am then when i did go back to sleep had a horrible dream where dd fell backwards down a fire escape metal staircase. awful!

my solictor tells me i am on schedule to exchange & complete on the same day 3rd december.

MrsR, need some removal firm advice I think. WB btw, glad you had a great time. Finger's all x'd for next Monday too.

sj, dd keeps asking where your ds is

also she just asked if she was getting "happy birthday to you cake" today

Paddlechick666 · 03/11/2007 08:10

oh and can anyone recommend a cheap flooring place?

think i will re-carpet the bedrooms and consider laminate in the hall/lounge.

am toying with the idea of laminate in dd's room then a big rug but carpet gives a cosier feel doesn't it.

can't wait to decorate dd's room!

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 03/11/2007 09:06

Paddle- Carpet Righ are cheap and good -google them to find the one closest to you.
We had a good removal firm - very reliable and good VFM - I'll try and find their number.

Mornin' All w- hat a glorious day!!

CoV if you are reading this - a teey reminde about DS2's coat Thanks M'Dear

sfxmum · 03/11/2007 09:37

morning all
paddle result on dd! LOL about the cake, well you did give her 4 birthday parties so what is a girl to think.

am trying to gather up the will to go jogging

will talk to dh about which fireworks to attend.

lovely sunny day

hauntedvillas · 03/11/2007 13:16

Paddle - when we moved 4 years ago we used Central Moves (Wood Lane, Isleworth)- and they were great. Mrs R - glad to hear you had a good hols - good luck for Monday.

sfxmum · 03/11/2007 16:12

hi haunted are you unemployed yet? when you are let's meet up and commiserate

we off to Ravenscourt fireworks, dd managed a nap just after making parkin with dh how very appropriate

Paddlechick666 · 03/11/2007 17:19

evening all.

ta for the movers info haunted. have emailed them.

well i feel very smug and virtuous as i cycled to kew this arvo with dd on the back [smug] [virtuous]

was lovely took about 25 mins and i really enjoyed it.

bought a book of cycle rides recently so think i will be getting that out and planning more excursions.

kew was absolutely beautiful.

am also hoping the excercise will help me sleep thru tonight!

hauntedvillas · 03/11/2007 17:26

Gosh PC you are so fit and active and a credit to us all! V disappointed no fireworks for us tonight as dd under the weather - so calpol at the ready at this end! SFX, nearly unempoyed - 4 weeks to go and limbering up for my new role at home

hauntedvillas · 03/11/2007 17:41

PS: Paddle what is happening at Richmond Athletic Ground tomorrow, is it more fireworks? (in case dd takes a turn for the better!)

SJ99 · 03/11/2007 17:45

Hello all hope you're enjoying your weekends

PC - your DD is really sweet my DS woke up asking for Makka Pakka

Kew pass arrived today woo hoo so we'll head out there tomorrow

Fireworks display was great last night. I think DS enjoyed the ones we saw as we were walking up the display, but was a bit scared of the actual display we went to as the bangs were really loud, even for me. Will bring earmuffs for him next year.

Enjoy the fireworks tonight those of you going

Thanks for reminding me about parkin SFX, forgot to make some this year. Will have to make some later this week instead

Paddlechick666 · 03/11/2007 17:46

yes it's a display that starts at 6:15pm so i thought it might be just the ticket for dd.

spoke to foxie earlier tho and it's a bit pricey and i'm pretty sure dd will be a bit freaked out by it all so i think i'm going to skip it tbh.

not paying thru the nose to make dd cry!

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 03/11/2007 18:16

Paddle did you go to Kew today? DS2 slept from about 2.15 to 4pm then drank some mik and slept again until 5.30pm. Hence me not going out

stepfordwife · 03/11/2007 18:42

blimey, got a fab view of the fireworks from my 'manhattan-style loft office space."
damn decent to set them off because I've actually managed to finish some work

stepfordwife · 03/11/2007 18:44

..and evening everyone
hope you're all enjoying fireworks, too.

paddle - i've got as bike which has been in my shed unused for, oh, 10 years. maybe you've inspired me, tho...

hauntedvillas · 03/11/2007 18:54

Ah, ok PC - probably same for us in that case. OK - gentle fireworks party for small people at mine next year

Paddlechick666 · 03/11/2007 19:34

i officially hate bonfire night!

dd has been a bit jumpy this evening but i think she has actually gone to sleep despite being in the middle of something that must be akin to an enemy firestorm!

i am on tenterhooks waiting for her to wake up screaming. the bangs and strobes are unbelievable.

and just when the 7pm display finishes, the 7:30pm display will start. i suspect they'll be on the half hour till 10pm

BAH BLOODY HUMBUG!

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 03/11/2007 19:59

Humph. Tried to go to the Vineyard school fireworks party, arrived at time advised by Foxie, and it was already sold out. Bah humbug. May try the Richmond Athletic Ground one tomorrow -- it is a bit pricy though (hmm... suppose that makes it less likely to be sold out) so will play it by ear.
