My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

Hi all.

Hope everyone is well.

DS and I took a day off nursery/work respectively yesterday as we both had a cold. Looks like the germs reached Kew from Thames Ditton.

Have a lovely Halloween day!

rosmonster · 31/10/2007 12:45

hi all, sushi & Cov hope you get better soon!

I haven't heard from 2cute either, I guess there is a lot to sort out but I hope she is ok.

Sfx, no ds isn't reaching for the games (yet) but when I went back to try again to get him dressed he put his finger on my lips and said 'sshhh' , dh is going to find that hilarious!

Foxie - well done on your very productive day!

stepfordwife · 31/10/2007 13:12

example from assorted cliches R us...
the grass is always greener
halloween last year: on a guilt trip becuase my CM is taking brood trick 'n' treating while i'm at work (in a "proper" office that is..)
hallowe'en this year: shit...got to take them trick n treating...
have comandeered my next door neighbour to hold my hand..

have so far eaten half my body weight in sainsbury's mini treats from the stash for trickNtreaters....

stepfordwife · 31/10/2007 13:17

and how is everyone diddling anyways?
yes, it was a lovely walk sfx and. yes, the wellies made it home..

paddle - lol mini-paddle..she'll be displaying cake withdrawal symptoms today then!

ros - glad you had a nice anniversary meal - how many yeras was it?
i honestly forget i'm married half the time and have to think twice when someone refers to my "husband"

stepfordwife · 31/10/2007 13:20

foxie, just give us a shout if want me - or more likely dh - to fit stairgates. sure your dh will work it out, tho.

SJ99 · 31/10/2007 13:26

Steppie don't put ideas into my head - I have a pile of choc sitting downstairs, now I might have to have a nibble Nice to meet you at last btw

Demonaid - good luck with arrangements, try not to get too stressed about it. If they don't come then it's their loss.

Ros - party was arranged by one of the playgroup mums, it was very good, DS now out for the count.

If anyone is interested in coming over there is a Halloween event going on down Church St, Twickers 4-9pm. We might pop along when DS wakes up. I will keep him in spiders costume . I actually think I might have nightmares tonight about that costume, I hate spiders and the legs on it are too creepy.

stepfordwife · 31/10/2007 13:31

..go on, SJ, you know you want to..
lovely to meet you too and your ds is gorgeous

apologies to purists for referring to trick n treat...i know it's trick OR treat...
but i am very tired/old/a few sandwiches short of a picnic/intellectually challenged

sfrightx · 31/10/2007 13:48

hello all

have done my going out bit mostly to stop me screaming as dd decided to do drip painting on the sofa with her milk followed by pee on the floor all before 10am

so instead we did playground and mothercare where she played a recorder and compiled her christmas list.

hope those feeling under the weather get better soon.

foxie impressed with activity so the trick is no car and kid schools bit far away

SJ99 · 31/10/2007 14:26

Sfx - I hope her Majesty wasn't wearing her lovely new coat when she did the painting and wee

sfrightx · 31/10/2007 15:20

SJno just fairy skirt and wings on top of pj's

rosmonster · 31/10/2007 17:51

Well, we've now had 6 trick or treaters, I'm glad we stocked up on sweets, where we used to live we never got any!

foxensteinscreature · 31/10/2007 18:03

Right - pumpkin to cut and light and DC's to take trick o treating !!!!

Oh and glass of vino to be poured later on!

rosmonster · 31/10/2007 18:51

Ok, am scaring myself by thinking about going back to work . Might have a look around tonight and see if there's anything!

SJ99 · 31/10/2007 19:07

Good luck with job hunt Ros, hope something turns up.

Enjoy trick or treating Foxie. Halloween do in Twickers was really good, DS came home with a huge stash of choc - he had to share his pile with me after dinner, I forced myself to have some just to be social

Nice to bump into you there OXO, hope your kids enjoyed the story time

I am off out tonight for a few drinks with 2 single guys

rosmonster · 31/10/2007 19:41

Sj, sounds like ds has had a good day and, well done you for forcing that chocolate down, that is a hard job

Ds was a little nervous of the people in costumes until he recognised a couple of his buddies! I think next year I might have a halloween party...

Kewcumber · 31/10/2007 20:03

SJ you are obviously not aware of the MN rule that single male friends have to be shared with Paddle and I so that we may fight over them like a 2 dogs with a juicy bone.

evening all

had loads of little buggers, sorry, trick or treaters at door..
but also knocked on loads of doors with my own little darlings (along with my neighbors)

I reckon dd will think she should go around every night now with a bucket being given loads of sweets..
ds1 and ds2 nearly fainted when i told them i was going to chop up apples, carrots and offer boxes of raisins to callers....the shame would have killed them

stepfordwife · 31/10/2007 22:52

...and i've got a chocolate headache...

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 01/11/2007 08:15

Well I've got a chocolate head and its in melt down...

Still getting no sleep as chubba is keeping me awake all night

Steppy did you mean it when you offered your DH to fit the stairgates ??? Is he around for half an hour on Saturday?

Paddlechick666 · 01/11/2007 08:16

morning all, well we had no trick or treaters here last night Whoo Hoo! Heard a bunch of kids in the street 2 or 3 times but each time they turned they all said "oh it's a dead end, lets go another way" LOL.

dd was awake at midnight demanding her "bebbies" but settled herself quite quickly. awake at 5:30ish which is a huge improvement on yesterday's 4:30am

my friend's funeral today so will be going to that later

i've sent a couple of emails to 2Cute but haven't heard anything back. am a bit worried about her but not sure how to proceed tbh.

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 01/11/2007 08:18

[big hugs] Paddle - hope the day goes well

I'll text 2cute today too and see if she responds.

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 01/11/2007 08:20

Good name, foxie! In a spirit of eco-friendliness I'm recycling last year's...

sfxmum · 01/11/2007 09:13

good morning all

good seasonal names, shall keep out of this one as is quite British

paddle seems mini paddle moving in right direction, sorry it is such a sad day.

about 2cute I guess she will be in touch when she feels ready Diwali coming up and all I guess it is an emotional time.

foxie I know it means nothing now but it will pass is ds2 sprouting teeth yet?

really really must walk to kew today and let dd run around should anyone like to join us

expleusives · 01/11/2007 10:11

how is this for a festive name? (although I thin the original screenname gets a bit lost)

expleusives · 01/11/2007 10:13

Am I supposed to be britsh to participate in Guy Fawkes?
