My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

cov, hope you're feeling better today.

sfx, what's your secret? had another 5am start this morning.

bit disoriented when i first woke up but so glad to find myself in my own bed and own house. therefore could allow dd to chat and shout a bit till 5:30am then lay down in her room with her till 6am.

when does this stop!!!!

dd was so cute in her bath last night. as the water was draining she crouched down on her haunches and said "i being a frog". this morning from her cot she was calling "i here mummy".

she also told me she didn't want to sleep in her cot anymore last night. she said she wanted to sleep in my bedroom

luckily that was all forgotten when she went to bed. in fact, once she was in her cot after her milk she said "GO"!

having another small "do" for her today so am getting organised for that. as usual i have over catered so hope people come hungry!

sfrightx · 30/10/2007 09:03

paddle dumb luck is what it is I think no method to this madness

but they are so so cute at this stage we were talking last night about how ready she is to move to a big bed and own room

and so are we except this means me and dh is same room all night it may all end very badly indeed

sfrightx · 30/10/2007 09:04

all evening I meant we do usually spend the night together, too much of a good thing and all that

foxensteinscreature · 30/10/2007 09:30

DS2 kept me up half the night as per. usual

Paddle hope you all have a lovely time today

That's really cute re. minipads (oops sounds like an item of feminine hygiene!!) -
When DD moved to her "big bed" we bought her brand new duvet covers and covered her bed in sparkly pink fairy lights. It worked but I know "minipads" isn't into pink is she?

Paddlechick666 · 30/10/2007 09:41

lol foxie, minipads loves pink! she's already got her "pretty lights" and I got her a pillow and duvet just recently. she tells me she "no likey that pillow" tho half the time

actually, when we move I am planning to convert the cotbed into a bed. being in a flat I'll be happier about her managing to get out and wander around then.

dd is all be-decked in purple today. going to clash horribly with her red shoes but hey ho!

sorry to hear ds2 kept you up all night. are you still co-sleeping? that would make it less exhausting i should imagine....

SJ99 · 30/10/2007 09:52

Morning

Yes DS seems to still be waking up an hr earlier, d'oh. Lucky you SFX

Hope your night's get better sleep soon, drink lots of coffee

Joined Kew, yay but they said I can't go until my card arrives - doesn't make sense, I thought I would get a temporary card seeing as I've paid up now

SJ99 · 30/10/2007 09:53

Meant to say Foxie - Hope your night's get better sleep soon, drink lots of coffee

SJ99 · 30/10/2007 09:54

Minipads soudns v. cute with her little chats

rosmonster · 30/10/2007 10:18

Sj, chase Kew up on that because I certainly got a temporary card

Will catch up properly later, must dash out

CovenOVeneer · 30/10/2007 13:28

Hi all, feeling a bit better this morning although still full of cold. Anyone have any pearls of wisdom re things to do to boost your immune system as I need to stop myself catching everything going. I am attempting to put some photos of the halloween party on my profile, but don't hold your breath

rosmonster · 30/10/2007 13:33

Sj, hope you don't mind me posting this here but saw this and thought of you!

CovenOVeneer · 30/10/2007 13:50

Right I have added some photos (I think).

SJ99 · 30/10/2007 14:14

Rang Kew again and they said they'd get a temp card out to me by the end of the week, hope that's the end of the matter.

Ros thanks so much for link, there is a potential job on there that might suit, will follow up...!
The agency that I sent my Cv to has come back with nothing suitable. I have seen some jobs that I'd really like to do but location deosn't work. I'm being quite picky and would prefer something more local. I love being with DS so it has to be the right job & location to lure me away from him.

Cov - nice piccies. As for boosting immune system, take lots of rest (if poss!) to give it chance to rebuild, take vitamin c, you can also try taking some superfoods like spiruluna. Hope you feel better soon

sfrightx · 30/10/2007 18:21

where is everyone?

boo to real life

foxensteinscreature · 30/10/2007 19:29

Oh sfx I am too busy on here and Ebay or RL

Paddlechick666 · 30/10/2007 19:54

evening all

"I TWO"Paddle had a perfectly lovely day today. Her 4th party and we are well and truly partied out now - well I am anyway. She was still singing happy birthday adn saying "Cake, blow candles" in her bath!!

Foxie, dd has taken a permanent aversion to the lovely coat and so it has been passed on to MiniSFX who suits it wonderfully. Am as I loved it and thought dd looked fabulous but the stubborn little miss wouldn't be swayed

I am knackered tonight!

sfrightx · 30/10/2007 20:32

paddle hope you manage some rest many thanks had lovely time

dd loves the coat and looks very 70's rock dolly with her sunnies on.

steppie thanks for walk and chat hope the wellies made it home.

dd completely beat and rather challenging, she had been awake since 7.30am ,now fast asleep

SJ99 · 31/10/2007 09:23

Boo to you all!

How are you? Hope you had a good night's rest Paddle.

DS is dressed up in a spider costume today ready for his Halloween party, looks so cute

Last night at bath time he declared he was 'going in river' Imaginative play takes on a new level

rosmonster · 31/10/2007 09:31

What's the halloween party ds is going to sj? Sounds very cute!

I'm trying to get ds to come around to the idea of getting dressed and going out but so far he's just lying down on the sofa and going 'NO'.

How's everyone?

sfrightx · 31/10/2007 09:35

hi everyone

think we will pop to the playground or kew at some point.

dd has slept through the last 2 nights so am keeping fingers crossed this is not a passing trend but a new healthy habit.
unfortunately i have such a light sleep I keep waking up at her slightest whimper

spider costume sounds cute, dd continues to be her majesty the fairy princess

hi ros is ds reaching for the games console? if not then don't worry

demonaid · 31/10/2007 10:29

Were there some vague plans for a bonfire thing / fireworks at a school somewhere Kew-wards this week(end), or am I hallucinating?

Bits of DH's family not talking to each other means that (almost literally) the thing I am most stressed about with this pregnancy is having to go through a naming ceremony and the seismic repercussions of Who Is Invited. Shouting FFS grow up, the lot of you! is the most tempting option.

eleusis · 31/10/2007 11:31

That's easy. Don't invite any of them.

Has anyone heard from 2cute? I'm a bit worried about all the silence. Hope she's okay.

COV, check your mail, please.

demonaid · 31/10/2007 11:45

Oh, we rise above it and invite everybody. Then those who have the emotional development of toddlers can decide to stay away if they don't want to risk sharing air with the others. But it still causes me stress because, apart from this one area, they are all lovely people and I want everyone to Just Get Along.

demonaid · 31/10/2007 11:46

Mind you, allegedly by inviting everyone even-handedly we are choosing to favour one party over the other...

foxensteinscreature · 31/10/2007 11:51

Demon - I hate all that "who to invite" politics...wait until you get to school-age birthday parties and have to invite half the people you can't stand just 'cos they are the same gender, vaguely the same species and in the same class at school LOL!!

SFX - glad minisfx likes the mini-afghan coat - it is very Janis Joplin isn't it?

Monti still waking me hourly at night - oh Lordy!!! Did I mention he is pulling himself up now and stregthening his legs.

I will find out what's a happening about the fireworks as we normally receive a letter and it has't appeared yet. Someone is bound to know at the school.

We've been quite productive today (unusually) - walked DS1 to school, been to Richmond, to bank (which was closed) to Boots, paid a bill by phone, done lots of practising letters/DD's wordbox. She is now watching "Maisy's ABC", prior to having her lunch and us walking back to school. I have 4 school runs today (that's 10 miles healthy bottom-shrinking walking )!!!

Steppy - thanks for the stairgates. DH hasn't quite worked out how to attach them yet. Reckon DS2 will be walking by the time they are put up .

QC - do you still have a spare stair-gate? I think I may have the screws to your one - were they in a bag with DD's pirate gear?

Ele - no haven't heard from 2cute. Has anyone else?
