My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

Have nice time at your ma's Steppie

rosmonster · 25/10/2007 16:19

I'm a coward, I wussed out of the baking and got out the playdough instead! But will definitely try it one day.

sfxmum · 25/10/2007 17:21

foxie - so you know Christy Moore added extra dates for December so since you will miss tomorrow you may still get tickets for the later gigs -Ticketmaster alerts are sometimes helpful

Ros think I beat you to coward have not even been out as decided to clean kitchen quite thoroughly and other odd jobs around the house.
have a very bored toddler

CovenOVeneer · 25/10/2007 17:46

Ds is yet to be allowed to cook, but dd helps me regularly. (mind you you all now how anal I am about cleaning) [grin. Today she helped me make 2 quiches, a banana loaf, chicken and veg soup, choc chip cookies and devil's food cake. Was too tired to do it last night.

SJ99 · 25/10/2007 19:19

We finally did the Tesco trip that I'd been putting off since Tues. Worked out fine, speed shopped whilst feeding DS crackers, paid up and was back by 5pm which I thought was good going until I opened up the boot and my pumpkin fell out and started rolling down the street

sfxmum · 25/10/2007 19:38

ok I shall have to get back later and work out what the heck bored tech is doing

I don't like it

rosmonster · 25/10/2007 20:07

CovenOVeneer · 25/10/2007 21:25

I have 2 pumpkins in the garage awaiting carving. DD has very highexpecations after the last couple of years.

CovenOVeneer · 25/10/2007 21:32

Ele we must sort outour hotel room for the MN christmas evening, very soon.

foxensteinscreature · 25/10/2007 21:50

sfx - thank you thank you thank you!!!! I have been thinking about Christy Moore non stop the past week. I think your update is a signalthat I must get my act together this time and book some tickets. If he's been advised not to tour due to his heart it may be my last chance. Although I spoke with my Irish friend about it just now and she said "oh strapping Irish men take no notice of the Doctor anyway"

sfxmum · 26/10/2007 09:26

morning all

foxie not to put a damper on things but since that email yesterday about CM I have been looking for details and all I could find was that there were still a few tickets on sale for Saturday night.

well another wellies day and try to entertain child somewhere indoors how lovely

hope you are all well

rosmonster · 26/10/2007 10:19

Was expecting a quiet morning with ds in nursery but dh is home moaning and groaning with man-flu!

SushiMummy · 26/10/2007 10:22

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.

We normally leave DS to cry himself to sleep but the last two nights have been amazing. After reading books (by daddy) and a little chat with mummy, I said you are two and a big boy now so you can sleep on you own. He said yes and rolled over to sleep! No crying, no whinging!! Am still myself. Just hope this will last...

foxensteinscreature · 26/10/2007 12:29

Still tickets for Saturday eh?

The extra dates are for Dublin and someone has just offered me a house near Dublin to stay in if I want to go over there and see Christy!!

sfrightx · 26/10/2007 12:53

foxie sounds like a plan

sushi I am glad you are seeing results I have never done CC, not built for it.
one of us just stays with dd until she sleeps, for now.

Ros did you start a thread about your dh? sympathies for the man flu

am trying to gather up the nerve to go puddle jumping, so not in the mood

SushiMummy · 26/10/2007 13:04

sfx, if I stay with DS till he falls asleep, he'd be up chatting away till 11pm.

Happy puddle jumping!

sfrightx · 26/10/2007 13:08

bless him, I think mine is so tired of seeing me she just shuts her eyes and goes to sleep once the lights are out.

procrastinating puddle jumping means I have to put shoes on and all that

sfrightx · 26/10/2007 13:12

actually I think I need a new everyday coat that is incentive enough

actually I would dearly love if dd would oblige and go back to sleeping through most nights, the end of night feeds might just do it.

why on earth am I planning another one

SJ99 · 26/10/2007 13:50

Hello all

Well done Sushi, fingers crossed it continues. I always thought sleeping and eating would be intuitive but DS has shown that's not always the case. For example I thought he'd gone for his nap as he'd been quiet for past 30mins but now I can hear him chatting, d'oh.

I have to wear him out today so he sleeps heavily tonight as we're going to Kaiser Cheifs gig tonight with Electric proms, cannot wait Puddle jumping this afternoon for us

Foxie you might get lucky with tickets on ebay if tour is sold out

rosmonster · 26/10/2007 14:28

I didn't start a thread sfx, just thought I'd have a quick moan on here

Think I might take ds swimming this afternoon to Richmond, or I might go shopping. We're off out for our anniversary tomorrow night and it would be nice to have something other than jeans to wear!

sfrightx · 26/10/2007 15:19

ros - thanks for reminding me I need to book a table for tomorrow night, we have babysitters

SJ sleeping and eating intuitive yes you would have thought so, I overheard a convo at C&C the other day where some mothers felt it had a lot to do with the kind of birth they had
btw I wanted to see Editors more my thing but alas not poss and dh hates them

sleep has always been a problem here, dd dropped her naps very early and night times have only been ok for the last year or so, she might not have had crying but I did ans quite often - bygones

puddles where great no shopping painting noe

rosmonster · 26/10/2007 18:04

Well, we went shopping instead, first to Kew Retail and then to Tescos. Got ds a couple of toys to try and entertain him on a train journey. I'm planning on taking him up to my mum and dad's next weekend by train [gulp]

Sfx, any plans on where you are going to go tomorrow?

Paddlechick666 · 26/10/2007 19:31

evening all

dd is 2 today!

course has been very heavy going tbh but still enjoyed it. managed to get back for about 4:30ish with balloon and card and presents.

she had a stack of cards and gifts. h had sent a card and money and dhl'd a trampoline and had balloons delivered

dd hates one of the balloons he sent tho

he's also been texting a lot. i'm still ignoring him.....

she has been running round shouting "happy birthday to you" and "cake" and "I two" and is now out like a light.

sister arrives tomorrow then big family party on sunday.

hope all who are out on the razzle tonight and tomorrow have a great time!
