My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

happy birthday minipaddle! glad you enjoyed the course as well.

Just had a bit of a rant about booking train tickets and that if I want ds to have a seat I have to buy one (under 5's travel free but don't get a seat) and its ended up costing only £40 for the pair of us return! Dh now laughing at me a lot

rosmonster · 26/10/2007 20:10

Happy Birthday mini-Paddle!!! That's all I have to say. Not been a great day, several (VERY) minor set-backs and me totally not able to handle them in a hormonal, angry pregnant way oh dear god! Um, so giving up and heading to bed now and planning to be totally lovely and accommodating to everyone who crosses my path tomorrow

Kewcumber · 26/10/2007 22:09

Hiya

Steppy if you are out there I cannot find my mobythis morning - if you wanna pop over to view clothes ring on landline or post on here M'Dear

Sister coming over for lunch today before she moves down to the west county.

I', having serious fantasies now about country life after visiting Kittywits last week in a village outside Brighton. As an ex-Londoer, she says she made the right move getting out of town.....could I really live somewhere without M&S food hall though?

DS2 is seriously crawling now

Has anyone got any spare stair gates we could borrow until you need them again? The ones you don't need to drill holes. I'm scared he might fall downstairs..we need 3 in total....

OK last call for Boden size 16 clothes - have a couple of 14 "bottoms too - cut of cargo type trews and some shorts

Had a nice evening yesterday - went for my walk and bumped into 2 old friends who were walking into Richmond for a drink. So joined them and came back smelling of fags and booze

stepfordwife · 27/10/2007 11:49

morning, all
how you all diddling?

foxie, would love to have a butchers. will come round at 3.30ish, if that's ok.

know what you mean about being tempted by country life. i like it in theory. (like my theory i'm a "morning person" which dh always guffaws at )
but i get twitchy if i'm not in walking distance of a cappuccino shop..

had a nice time at my ma's. took the little felklas and my nephew to see stardust
loved it, loved it, loved it.
think the boys quite liked it, too, but that's by the by..

happy (belated) birthday to mini-paddle

liking your work, ros
toodlepip

foxensteinscreature · 27/10/2007 11:58

I will not bore you yet again with my country living fantasies oh ok then it is a lovely.......

SushiMummy · 27/10/2007 14:09

Hi all.

Happy birthday, mini-paddle!

Have a lovely anniversary meal, ros!

QC are you doing something special on your family day? Family day sounds lovely (much better than 'Gotcha' day)!

Went to S&L in Syon park in the morning, followed by lunch at Wagamama where John Hannah's family sat next to us and we had a lovely chat about Japan and China.

Paddlechick666 · 27/10/2007 14:56

god I SO fancy John Hannah! you lucky things!

sj, where was he when we were there LOL!

right, we're off to the airport shortly. dd has been coached into saying "auntie L is a ROCK CHICK!!"

back at the family homestead it would appear things are very stressed. am sure there will be meltdown on the way. DSis is not best known for her care and consideration of others mum will be putting far too much emotional stability on having a "perfect" family time etc etc.

might take a hard hat LOL!

anyways, back on monday so have great weekends all.

mellow2 · 27/10/2007 17:28

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's well.

Happy anniversary ros and belated birthday greetings to mini-paddle.

I'm counting the days till I finish work now so I actually have time to Mumsnet and spend time with dd.

SJ99 · 27/10/2007 20:53

Hi all

Happpy Birthday mimi- paddle, enjoy your party Want to see pics of her in the Rock chick t-shirt

Happy Anniversary Ros, hope you enjoy your night out!

Have a nice meal too Sfx, no harm in 1 glsss of wine. It's when you have several you're in trouble, LOL.

Hi mellow, hope you're contract is easing up a bit now you're getting towards the end of it.

I'm suffering today but had a great night, band were excellent and what a top venue it was really good atmosphere. Felt like a normal person going out to a concert, forgot what that was like .

foxensteinscreature · 27/10/2007 22:40

sj

sfrightx · 28/10/2007 11:03

hi all hope everyone is well and having a nice weekend.

had a lovely time last night including being amused by the fancy goings on across the street at A Cena all evening dress and flashbulbs.

unfortunately on the way home there were 4 kids on the bus, all about 10/12 throwing things at the passengers and spraying cheap deodorant all around, the bus driver sorted them out but an older man nearly went apoplectic and we had to calm him down. quite sad all in all.

dd had a great time bossing babysitters around, she made them form a queue to read her stories at bedtime

dh working today so he can look after dd tomorrow as I battle Portuguese bureaucracy at embassy - I feel ill already

foxensteinscreature · 28/10/2007 11:39

SFX - glad you had a lovely time in St Mags

LOL at your DD. I told you she is a future Prime Minister!

I have a big walk planned at 2pm with a friend (2 Irish women with big strong legs) - hope it stops piddling down...

Kewcumber · 28/10/2007 19:33

Oh Paddle I had such great plans for dropping a b'day card off for Paddlelette which were thwarted by a sodding puncture. Parked in M&S yesterday evening and didn't realise it had a kerb in front of one of the wheels which I clipped on the way out. So now have huge puncture. Planned to get it fixed today but tyre places either not open on a sunday or I have to put the spare on and drive there (not bloody likely!)

So tomorrow I will walk DS to Cm then walk to tube and my mum will get one of the mobile tyre places over to fit a new tyre.

You know when you;re not exactly broke but not exactly flush either? Suddenly any spare cash for the month is now going to be spent on a tyre

Hi all, we had a lovely evening last night, can recommend Green Chilli in Hammersmith, food really nice and a good vege menu as well! Was nice to get out and have a proper chat with dh

Paddle, hope your family time is going well!

Kew, know exactly what you mean, for whatever reason we've always had something come up in the last few months so that any money put to one side has already gone!

foxensteinscreature · 29/10/2007 07:16

Mornin' All

Back to school today for the kids and all their various lunch packs, PE kits, homework and reading bags

sfrightx · 29/10/2007 07:23
