My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

I'm probably around this afternoon so if the weather stays nice then I'll head over to Kew, might see some of you there!

SushiMummy · 23/10/2007 11:49

Morning all.

Bad mother alert! DS had a strop this morning and wouldn't want to wear his shoes and coat for nursery so I took him out without them (in this cold weahter!). I managed to put a coat on him on the way, tho. Hope he hasn't got pneumonia!

And of course, I was late for work!

sfxmum · 23/10/2007 11:54

sushi - pretty sure you are not a bad motherI am sure he will be fine but I guess it was quite stressful too.

ros - yes probably later but I will try and avoid C&C - famous last words

SushiMummy · 23/10/2007 12:07

Thanks, sfx.

I am thinking of getting this for DH so DS and I can sleep in the same bed at my in-laws this Xmas.

Kewcumber · 23/10/2007 12:15

don't you think he'd fit in a ready bed then, Sushi?

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 23/10/2007 12:32

DH in readybed? No, it's a roll-up matress which would be more useful as we often have quests.

Paddlechick666 · 23/10/2007 12:37

you can't get adult ready beds can you?

quickest trip to the library ever! ended up talking to bf for a while about her MIL who is so ill.

the hospital don't think she'll last much longer. it is desparately sad but apparently the cancer support nurse said this is one of the most peaceful ways to go. they have stopped the saline drips and so on now as well. over the years they've become a 2nd family to me and bf mum/mil was always so delighted with dd and all her other g/children.

kew this arvo for sure. doubt C&C will be avoidable

sfxmum · 23/10/2007 12:44

sorry to hear paddle it is always so hard

speaking for myself the hardest thing was watching my mum die slowly but palliative care is very good these days - btw my sister is a senior nurse at UCLH oncology.

rosmonster · 23/10/2007 12:45

Paddle, am so sorry about your bf, that's so sad.

Will also be at C&C as at least I can contain ds to some extent there!

Paddlechick666 · 23/10/2007 12:47

whoo hooo! i am to admit how pleased i am to find out the hotel has wi-fi!

will pack both laptops now

SJ99 · 23/10/2007 12:53

Hello all

Asuuming DS has his nap I might venture out to Kew also. Am a Kew virgin, where to go where to park, any help appreciated??!

Sorry to hear about your bf's mum must be really sad for her and you.

Happy b'day to mini Yingers!!

Also like Demonaid, very clever

Paddlechick666 · 23/10/2007 12:56

sj, you can generally get a park quite easily on kew road especially during the week.

have you got your membership yet? not sure if you can just sign up at Victoria Gate or if you have to go in then join......

it's sooo worth joining believe me!

SJ99 · 23/10/2007 12:58

Still a lot of chat coming from DS cot but I only left him about 10mins ago. Great will drive out there. Didn't get round to joining earlier as the summer was such a wash out so will prob join today, yay!

sfxmum · 23/10/2007 13:03

Sj always worth it I remember last winter having picnics in the greenhouses, jumpers and coats off - lovely

ok we are off now ... I think

SJ99 · 23/10/2007 13:04

Re; fake coughing, Ds does that too . He once did it to an old lady on the bus who was coughing. I don't think she was impressed, I was dying not to laugh LOL

SJ99 · 23/10/2007 13:06

I am dead excited about going as I've never been and it is such a lovely day, looking forward to it

Paddlechick666 · 23/10/2007 13:36

dd just dropped off so i guess we'll get to kew about 3ish now.......

fantastic day for it too.

rosmonster · 23/10/2007 14:39

Ds just woke up, so will be at C&C for about 3-ish

rosmonster · 23/10/2007 17:46

Nice to see sfx, sj & paddle this afternoon however briefly, sorry we had to dash off but ds was getting a bit antsy at being in his pushchair and not going anywhere!

Think I will definitely avoid C&C for the rest of halfterm though, busy wasn't the word to describe it!

foxensteinscreature · 23/10/2007 18:08

Glad you had a nice arvo

SJ99 · 23/10/2007 19:58

Thanks for the intro to Kew, a whole new world has opened up for us now. Really nice to see PC, SFX & Ros today .

Wagamama's was long overdue in my diet, it was so good [yum] DS demanded a ceral bar and packet of buttons when we got home, I guess the noodles were not to his taste

Good luck for course PC, hope you maange to get ther on time

Yingers74 · 23/10/2007 20:14

tah for the b-day wishes, willow farm village was surprisingly good and I had never heard of it till today. There are animals to pet and see, adventure playground, inflatable castles and slides, walks, sand pits, tractor rides and little tractors, fun fair rides and shows for children. The only downside was that it was absolutely packed today. Also during pumkin festival (this week) all kids get a free pumpkin!!!!

Paddlechick666 · 23/10/2007 20:41

evening all, great to see you guys at kew earlier. sj, sorry dd was sooooo hard work on the walk thru to C&C. wagamama was fab wasn't it!

assume you got home okay, sorry i couldn't drive you all the way. dd had a flannel wash and went straight to bed!!

message on phone when i got in to say that my friends' mother died earlier today. desperately sad
