My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

Wishing mini ppaddle a speedy recovery. Hopefully she'll be fast asleep and won't hear any cheers

Kewcumber · 20/10/2007 19:52

so sorry sushi - am not very well have developed mild stomach bug to go with heavy cold and my brain is like swiss cheese. And DS got up this morning at 5.30, which really helped. It's not often I miss having a partner (not having had one at the same time as DS!) but I really could have done with one at 5.30 this morning. I did remember but only at about 3pm .

Can we do next weekend sometime and I'll try to be a bit more on the ball.

No worries, Sue. Hope you get better soon. DH seems to have tummy bug, too (constantly complaining about it).

Suspect everyone is watching the rugby now? Did you know Japan was part of it? Made a very quick exit.

Paddlechick666 · 20/10/2007 20:09

i had rotten tummy ache all day on thursday as well as my own personal vomit fest last week.

definately seems to be something going around.

dd is snuffling away and sounding quite restless so we'll see i guess.

i tried really hard to get passionate about the SAFFAs but it's impossible! can't help but inwardly cheer for England lol.

hope everyone's feeling better soon and that we all have a relaxing/peaceful evening!

CovenOVeneer · 20/10/2007 20:13

Evening all. We have the rugby on tonight too. Despite his SA heritage DH is supporting England. Have had a lovely day, we all went out for lunch then I dropped dh and dd off at the cinema to watch Rata.... (can't spell it but the animated film about the cooking rat ), ds fell asleep in the car on the way home so had a couple of hours to myself, so pottered in the garden (making the most of this lovely weather). What is everyone up to next week? Is it half term for you lot? I know sometimes Elmbridge is not in sync (sp) with Richmond.

foxensteinscreature · 20/10/2007 22:34

SJ - I wouldn't worry too much. The later the better IMO for the MMR - you can just call the surgery and make an appointment with the nurse to get the first jabs.

Kew - if its any consolation, men tend to aquire selective deafness/inertia and tend to be pretty useless when kids are up all night I was up half the night with DS2 as well ...

CoV - Richmond has half term next week too

** So no one wants loads of Boden nearly new size 16 fabby gear then?

rosmonster · 21/10/2007 14:31

Am a bit about the rugby but SA deserved it I think!

Foxie - I would love the clothes but unfortunately am a teensy bit bigger than a 16

Hope all the various dcs (and mums) are feeling better today.

We've been to the park today and to mass so am feeling very pious now! Will probably head to the bunny farm this afternoon

slng · 21/10/2007 15:48

Where/what is bunny farm?

SJ99 · 21/10/2007 17:15

Hi All

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday and not too down at rugby result.

Foxie - I agree the later the better re: MMR but it's such a pain getting an appointment as DS needs to have it done at hospital because of his allergies.
Would love the clothes but wrong size for me!

Yes where is bunny farm, would like to try and go next week.

Went to Bushy park this morning and saw loads of deer, very majestic

My parents are here for the day, causing chaos & mischief for DS. The'll be up at 4am to go to LHR hope they don't wake everyone up...

stepfordwife · 21/10/2007 19:44

hi everyone
how you all diddling?

paddle, i'm so sorry about your friend's mum

foxie....ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yes please, i'd love some clothes if they're still knocking around.

yes, what is this bunny farm you speak of?

been pretty hectic weekend..oh shite, got to go, dd is summoning me in her dulcet tones...

Kewcumber · 21/10/2007 19:52

You don;t need to be about Japans rubgy team Sushi - I saw them play some years ago and they weren;t too bad - obviously not in the same league as northern Europe or the Southern hemi teams but considering there is no rugby tradition that I know of, I think honour is served!

I'm feeling a bit better today just normal cold rather than wondering how I'm going to get trhough teh weekend. Sadly I think my ussual post-cold sinusitis is developing. Just once it would be nice to escape from it.

I didn;t actually watch the rugby felt so shit I can't actually remember what I did watch.

foxensteinscreature · 21/10/2007 22:49

pacifying chubba with a dr who pen which says you r an enemy of the daleks

lemonaid · 22/10/2007 07:42

DS had MMR at 2.5, and they said at that appointment that he should have a booster in 6 months (which will not be happening after his reaction to the MMR... I think we'll be going with singles for the booster). So maybe they've brought it forward from 4?

rosmonster · 22/10/2007 09:15

morning all , finally got a decent nights sleep last night so don't feel like a zombie so much!

Am off to get ds some new clothes this morning at Kew Retail and then off swimming this afternoon if anyone would like to join us

SJ99 · 22/10/2007 09:28

Morning

DS also slept soundly last night 13hrs straight which was nice

No car today so will stay local, will try and go to Kew Retail later in week, want to check out ELC and find DS a winter coat

Glad you are recovering QC

foxensteinscreature · 22/10/2007 09:45

SJ - I was woken every 110 minutes by DS2 all through the night

SushiMummy · 22/10/2007 10:11

Morning all.

Is it just us that think Kew is getting crowdier every year? DH spent 40 minutes trying to find a space to park yesterday (ended up parking on the side of the railway!). I know Henri Moore exhibition is attracting so many people but it's becoming increasingly difficult for residents to park. Do you think we should complain to the council? AIBU?

QC, I know it's bit late but I'm happy to look after your DS for a few hours at weekends. Or do some shopping for you. Just give us a shout!

Paddlechick666 · 22/10/2007 10:16

foxie, check this out www.mumsnet.com/Talk/9/406783?reverse=1&rnd=1193044448788

sfxmum · 22/10/2007 10:32

good morning all

hope LO are ok now
KC are you well enough to work today?hope you a re feeling better.

about MMR dd had hers when she was 12m, no adverse reactions but I don't want any more vaccines until she goes to nursery at least

sushi I don't know about the parking but the art lovers are a nuisance at Kew stopping the toddlers having their funI expect most people try to avoid parking charges.

glad to hear some of you managed to have a proper night sleep

here not so bad but dd sort of cried in her sleep a couple of times which startled me, not a good thing when I am lying very still trying not to be sick

still feeling unwell here which is quite annoying as felt ok for most of yesterday, but evening was awful

dh&dd so far impervious to all of this, fortunately.

foxie thanks foe dropping off the book, dh is horrified at the idea of cold showers said he does not want a son that much
sorry about your night

SJ99 · 22/10/2007 12:21

Sorry you had a rough night Foxie
DH is teething so that was the first night in about a week that he slept through, nothing compared to your night wakings though. Is your DS going through growth spurt maybe and waking up hungry...?

Do cold showers lead to males being born...?!

Kewcumber · 22/10/2007 12:29

DH is teething?!

OP posts:
SJ99 · 22/10/2007 12:45

Ooops, meant DS

Maybe DH is having sympathy teething pains which would explain why he needed a few pints yesterday afternoon - to numb the pain no doubt

CovenOVeneer · 22/10/2007 12:50

Hi all. First day of half term and the children are already trying to kill each other. Our shower decided to leak through the ceiling this morning so have been stuck in waiting for the plumber. Have tyo sort out playroom as my sister and family are coming for the weekend and that is our guest bedroom. Foxie I haven't posted ds's coat yet but may be heading to Kew on Thursday, shall I just pop it through your door?

foxensteinscreature · 22/10/2007 14:12

Oooh yes please CoV!!

SFX - the only methods we used were: frequency of "trying" and when we tried in relation to when the egg pops out

The book is quite handy in terms of pinpointing ovulation though

Generally speaking, if you do naughties on the day of, or within 24 after, ovulation you increase the chance of having a boy, as the boy sperms swim quicker so reach th goal first!

Ovulation has happened when you get the egg white

Its easer to concieve a boy than a girl, as with a girl you are stopping "naughties" at least 2 days before ovulation - which is tricky as ovulation rarely happens the same time each month
