My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

I think it was actually Kew who was quoting the numbers. Mine were face value and I've been trying to avoid finding out how much I could theoretically sell them on for, lest I be tempted...

CovenOVeneer · 19/10/2007 17:25

Hi all, not beenaround much the last 2 days, what with sorting out the school shed, baking for school cake sale, dh has today of work so went to Kingston for retail therapy and lunch, then selling cakes at school. Sorry about the disturbed nights, colds etc. Lemon, have a fab time in Paris.

We too had a disturbed night but it was rather an odd one. 4am I was woken up by the front door bell. So nudged (very hard) dh to get him to wake up, hissing there is someone at the door. Put on dressing gowns and creep downstairs, bell still being rung every few seconds, by the time we get there and switch on the light the ringing is constant as if someone just has their finger on the button all the time. Anyway open the door and NOBODY is their but bell is ringing on its own. Look up and down the street in the garden, no-one in sight, eventually have to take the batteries out the bell to shut it up!!! Amazingly it didn't wake the children, but every time we put the batteries back in it rings on its own, so off to B+Q tomoorow to buy a new one.

CovenOVeneer · 19/10/2007 17:31

AND we somehow have managed to come home with the 3 class goldfish for the half term week . I really must learn how to say no

lemonaid · 19/10/2007 19:30

sfx -- can you remind me what the family-friendly festival you mentioned at COV's was? (I don't even have the excuse of heavy drinking to excuse my sieve-like mind...)

sfxmum · 19/10/2007 19:54

Latitude it is showing the line up for last summer but I was sent an email saying they will do it again next year, 3rd time

and of course there is Womad

if I do manage to get pregnant anytime soon I shall have to miss it otherwise I am there
fab time

Cov - how weird just sounds like a prank

Kewcumber · 19/10/2007 20:07

no it wasn;t me quoting numbers I didn;t find out until last night what she paid. I think five of them went - cost including first class eurostar, tickets and hotel and food and drink was roughly the price of my mortgage FOR A YEAR!!! Sure I shouldn't be posting that but am still

sfxmum · 19/10/2007 21:36

foxie thanks had slipped my mind. will pop out for jog sometime in the morning then will text you see when ok

foxensteinscreature · 19/10/2007 22:29

sfx at you having jog! I just did a big walk to Roehampton and back - I have to wait until DH gets home. About 6 miles (90 minutes). I guess if I ran it would be quicker It was quite nice actually.

We don't get dressed until about 11am on Saturdays as its my Waynetta Slob day, but I have no plans for tomorrow, apart from to get the kids out of the house at some point for a stroll.

Paddlechick666 · 20/10/2007 08:37

morning all

well, dd is a snot machine today. poor little thing. i gave her medised at bedtime last night and she did sleep okay. along with a karvol plug and olbas oil on her pillow! still up at 6:30am tho

got a friend visiting today so we'll be at kew this arvo.

had a text last night that bf's mother is very ill. she's had cancer for about 2.5yrs and her treatment seemed to be keeping things under control. now apparently there's a tumour pressing on her brain and she's expected to slip into unconcsiousness and not come home from hospital.

so so very sad. bf's parents are both lovely and our families have been very close.

foxensteinscreature · 20/10/2007 10:17

orn All

Paddle sorry to hear the sad news about your BF's Mum

DS2 has the snots too - kept my up for 90 minutes between 2am and 3.30am

quokka · 20/10/2007 10:49

well I would prefer snotty noses to spewing every 20 min! I had to insert a suppository for thre first time the other night ! We are over the worst but have managed to infect our neighbours and most likely the pre school.

Sorry to hear about bf mum pc

Paris sounds lovely lemonade (mmmm cheese), I bet its chilly there as well. Am dying for a break in this weather

Have just got back from KL doing my baby course, but have loads of reading, assignments and rac I can't see myself being certified till March.

sfxmum · 20/10/2007 11:05

morning all

paddle so sorry about your friends mum

quokka - did you enjoy the course? guess now is the tough bit organizing yourself.
re suppositories, they are very much part of my childhood

foxie just up sorry, all 3 of us a had disturbed night now settling deciding what to do with the day

hope all DC feel better soon

quokka · 20/10/2007 11:08

yes so true sfx! Any more ideas for names? Thinking that it should be a general name as eventually I want to offer doula services as well the baby massage?

quokka · 20/10/2007 11:16

yes I did enjoy the course it was well worth it and I was appreciated by all when I got back for spew duty

sfxmum · 20/10/2007 11:23

quokka will bear that in mind, and yes I bet you had the glow of the saviour about you ad you walked through your door

sfxmum · 20/10/2007 12:13

btw we just received a note saying dd is due for her MMR booster, surely that is wrong? I though it was only a pre school booster at around 4, any ideas/ knowledge?

rosmonster · 20/10/2007 12:44

Sfx, it's possible they've cocked up a bit, we got a note saying ds needed a booster for something but he'd already had it! Have a look here, this might help

foxensteinscreature · 20/10/2007 13:31

sfx - I think DD got her letter when she was just about to start pre- school nursery i.e. when she turned 3.

OK does anyone want any Size 16 Boden/Monsoon clothes ?

Some are unworn, many hardly worn. Lots of snuggly winter things e.g. plum baby cord velvet trimmmed long skirt, plum velvet slouchy flares. Let me know as I having a clear out and the are in the direction of the charity bag atm

sfxmum · 20/10/2007 14:25

thanks both Ros & Foxie

not sure I can make it out of the house today, very dodgy tummy since last night, my two went out to get away from me

rosmonster · 20/10/2007 14:30

hope your tummy gets better soon sfx,

ds just woken up, am wondering what to do this afternoon, definitely get out of the house anyway!

SushiMummy · 20/10/2007 18:19

sfx, I got one of those today, too. the sheet tells you are supposed to have MMR booster at 18mo. Have things changed? He had his first MMR when he was 15mo so I'd delay it as much as poss, I think.

Hope you feel better soon, btw.

DS had a nap for 3 hours today. He too has the snotty cold.

QC, weren't you supposed to pick up your toys today? Or did I get the date wrong? A bit busy tomorrow but could do next w/e.

foxensteinscreature · 20/10/2007 19:19

Uh? thought it was first MMR at 18 months, then second aged between 3-4?

Ours had the single jabs and I left 6 months between each single jab.

Paddlechick666 · 20/10/2007 19:44

poor dd is really not well. hate it when she's ill, makes me worry all the more.

next door seem to have decided to watch the rugby at home this week

they'll be going off if england win.

considered going round now and appealing to their better nature and explaining dd is ill but a) doubt they'd give a toss and b) it's probably a bit unreasonable of me given the nature of tonight's game.

so all i can hope is that the Bok's win and they go to bed early in despair.......

SJ99 · 20/10/2007 19:47

I'm confused, DS hasn't had MMR jab yet he's still waiting for appointment to have his MMR, each time I call about it they say which jab the 1st or booster, so maybe the booster is now given a lot earlier i.e. at 2yrs...? No idea when he will have booster at this rate

Hope you feel better soon SFX

Went to Marble Hill today, DS played in park and then we went to lovely cafe for lunch and sat outside, got to make the most of the weather

DS went to Twickers ale festival, been called down now for my supper then time for rugby!
