Ta daaaa.
Welcome to our new home .

How about this one? it's another character from His Dark Materials. She's a Gallivespian, a tiny person who rides a dragonfly.

TheLadySalmakia · 03/10/2007 17:07

We kind of recognised each other. We've all promised not to search on each other's names but I've already stumbled across one of the others by chance and they will no doubt do the same.

MrsSeanSlater · 03/10/2007 18:05

Hmm, perhaps not. It'll get shortened to The Lady which makes me sound old.
Think again...

bogmyrtle · 03/10/2007 18:15

What about just Salmakia?

Cracked it!
This will do. In the book (for anyone who hasn't read it) this is the name given to Lyra by Iorek Byrnison, the armoured bear, and she never uses Belacqua again.

Zebedeedoodah · 03/10/2007 20:25

What do you think of this one? I'm liking Lyra!

LyraSilvertongue · 03/10/2007 21:23

Zebedeedoodah is good. It's going to be very confusing with all these new names.

Zebedeedoodah · 04/10/2007 09:08

And I don't think B (rather than BB ) is ever going to find us. Or is she here already?

Zebedeedoodah · 05/10/2007 10:00

Where is everyone?! I'm feeling all lonely and unloved now

binkleandflip · 05/10/2007 13:24

Hiya Z!!!

Like your new name though I am very, very confused! I've reverted to my old one - Igave dh a bit of a lecture about his naughty sneakiness and he is suitably chastened

Has Berrie been on yet or is she still on hols?

Zebedeedoodah · 05/10/2007 13:26

tum-ti-tum-ti-tum. I'll just sing to myself

Zebedeedoodah · 05/10/2007 13:27

A-ha! You sneaked in their Binkle when I was typing. I was getting very lonely. So, how the devil are you, besides giving DH a richly deserved verbal beating?

binkleandflip · 05/10/2007 13:29

I'm good, I've just taken delivery of a new tefal LOW FAT chip maker!!

I'm ridiculously excited about the whole thing I think the delivery man was embarrassed on my behalf as I ran down the drive to meet him

binkleandflip · 05/10/2007 13:30

We never, ever have chips, EVER but by God we will now !

Zebedeedoodah · 05/10/2007 13:44

Low fat chip maker? How? I don't understand?!

binkleandflip · 05/10/2007 13:48

I am sooo glad you asked - (thank you for indulging me )

  • Well, you put the chips in the maker then drizzle 1 tablespoonful of oil over them and then the machine keeps rotating them so they are heated evenly and they come out all crispy but soft and lovely alledgedly - I shall report back tomorrow!
Zebedeedoodah · 05/10/2007 14:03

Yummy! I'm off to Binkle's for dinner.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/10/2007 18:14

I've never even heard of a low-fat chip maker before. Let us know how they turn out.
I bought fish and chips for the DSs' dinner tonight as a treat. I really tried to resist but I had to have a couple. Ok, maybe it was a handful. And a bit of the fish, with lots of salt and vinegar .
DP and I are having home-made curry tonight which i don't think is too bad.

binkleandflip · 06/10/2007 16:26

Well what a revelation!

We had sweet potato chips (so extra points for being healthy and low G.I. !!)

They were lovely and I only used 1 tablespoon of olive oil ! These are chips that are virtually essential on any menu I feel

And easy to clean too which is a top gadget deal breaker IMO - hence why the juicer was used fervently for a week and has been malingering in the the back of the broom cupboard for a year now.

Whose covering for Lee in september? Is it Lewis then too. According to dh Lee had been spotted at a spa with his mum this week - bless!

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 18:17

In September? September's gone.
I'd get one of those chip makers if only I could shoe-horn another gadget into my small kitchen.

Zebedeedoodah · 07/10/2007 10:42

OK Binkle, I'm sold. So please can you divulge the name of this wonder-machine?

Berrie · 07/10/2007 18:39

Helloooo!
Well haven't you lot led me round the houses!

Berrie · 07/10/2007 18:45

I'm too tired to work out who anyone is by the way...if I were the parnoid type I'd think you were trying to shake me off

LyraSilvertongue · 07/10/2007 20:57

Welcome back! How was Cornwall?
Well I'd say it was fairly obvious who I am, Berrie. And Binkle.

Berrie · 08/10/2007 08:12

Yes, I was very relieved when you both morphed back into yourselves...you were making my head hurt!
Cornwall was gorgeous. The weather was so much better than in June and we swam in the sea (Berrie blows raspberry at Boing)
However I will NEVER EVER go on holiday with family again. There were horrible tensions between family members. We also expected to get a bit of a break but we just couldn't trust people to look after our children. We'd ask people to keep a close eye on ds on the beach, look round and he was playing at the water's edge which would be ok except that there were huge waves on a steeply shelving beach and no-one was with him. Or back at the house, dd would be tottering up and down huge flights of stone steps in the garden with no-one stopping her...horrible.
We did have a good time though and I am considering posting some hoiliday pics later!
