For when the August thread runs out.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 25/09/2007 11:51

ah well, too late now as i'm about to drop dd off at CM and don't have anything like a headscarf.

as i said, i'm not 100% on the sikh thing nor am 100% on how religious 2cute and her dh were.

hopefully my clothes won't offend........

MrsRecycle · 25/09/2007 12:02

I'm wearing black as well (with white decoration) so should be okay. See you at 12.30 pc

sfxmum · 25/09/2007 15:00

hello everyone just back all I can say is 2cute's dh was dearly loved by many people.
we managed to give her a hug and a few words.
now is when she will start needing us

rosmerta · 25/09/2007 15:29

hi everyone, basically what sfx said

eleusis · 25/09/2007 15:35
Sad
stepfordwife · 25/09/2007 16:54

hi everyone
been thinking of 2cute today - sure she really appreciated you going paddle, sfx, ros and mrs r.

kew - dd and your ds played nicely at cm today..apart from the odd spat and swift swipe, of course
btw, you omitted my name from the list of contributers. only mention it in case you've forgotten abt the tenner i gave you on sun and have one of those:"oh...deep joy...a tenner i'd forgotten all about" moments...

ele.. i bet teachers love playing "match the parent with the offspring!"

ComeOVeneer · 25/09/2007 17:43

So pleased a few of us could make it to let 2cute know we are here for her.

Paddlechick666 · 25/09/2007 17:56

evening all, it was a very emotional service and the crematorium was absolutely packed and overflowed into the car park.

2Cute had asked 2 of her dh's friends to speak and they painted a picture of a deeply loving, comitted man of integrity and respect and honour. they referred to his and 2cute's great love for each other and their ds and altho tragically short that his life was full of many that those who live longer sometimes don't manage to achieve.

2cute is clearly devastated but she was surrounded by family and friends today. i gave her a hug and told her how we all sent our love and support both today and far into the future.

she will need us now and altho we must respect her need to grieve we need to be as much of a presence in her life as we all can be.

my heart broke for her today....

Yingers74 · 25/09/2007 17:57

kew - tah have just sent you some money, hope you get it.

I hope 2cute got some comfort knowing her dh was loved and is not forgotton.

Yingers74 · 25/09/2007 17:59

mrs r - i never got your message, do you have to be a paying member to get CATS now?

If my contribution was too late, can it be used for something else for 2cute?

foxcub · 25/09/2007 18:56

Paddle did you find out what caused his death so young?

ComeOVeneer · 25/09/2007 18:57

Foxy email me.

rosmerta · 25/09/2007 19:03

Foxie, nothing was said

Kewcumber · 25/09/2007 19:49

He died form a heart condition on the hockey pitch. Not sure they knew he had it - I suspect not.

So sorry I couldn't go but pleased that those who could managed to let her know that we will do what we can for her.

Steppie - you read my mind - I did indeed look n my ourse today and think "Oh goody no need to draw out cash for cleaner had moer than I expected!"

Have also have contributions form Quokka, Ros and Yingers. Unless there is anyone else to give that is ...

Kewcumber
Foxie
SFX
Cov
Mellow
Paddle
Lemonaid
MrsR
Quokka
Ros
Steppie
Yingers

That £130 because Quokka send more (dont ask me why, ask her!)

I'll send £40 to MrsR (plus her £10) to cover the wreath that leaves £38 left to spend later. MrsR - can I paypal you on the email address I have?

Can I suggest we buy her food but wait a week or so whenever she wants to talk/go out and we can talk to 2Cute about what she'd prefer. Or should we just buy something without asking?

foxcub · 25/09/2007 20:11

Kew thanks for letting me know the cause of death

Kewcumber · 25/09/2007 22:04

and Eleusis so that makes £48 extra to use.

quokka · 26/09/2007 01:13

I thought the biscuits were expensive? Anyway I'm not there to take her out for a coffee and a cake etc, so thought I would give a little more.

What about a big box of Krispy Kremes when someone meets her for a chat?

eleusis · 26/09/2007 06:47

Do you think 2cute will thank us when she gains 3 stone?

quokka · 26/09/2007 08:05

Think thats the least of her worries, I'm sure her ds will appreciate them as well (and I know I would)!

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 08:44

morning all

we're full of the sniffles here

wrt to the left-over money and 2Cute, i wonder if she has Kew membership and if that might be a good way to spend the money.

it won't buy much food and it would be a much longer lasting gift and very typical to our west london group/focus.

thoughts?

findaproperty just listed a flat in the same area as the one i am buying. different block but exactly the same otherwise. it's come on at 199k and the address is listed as Isleworth!!!!

doesn't look like i will be finished with all this till early december

eleusis · 26/09/2007 09:00

I was just kidding Quokka.

I think Kew is a fab idea, Paddle. Can we get the premier one so that she can take some guests (family?) with her now and then.

£199, is that higher or lower than the one you are buying?

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 09:17

good morning all

we've got the sniffles too, oh joy!

paddle - a membership sounds good, lots of fresh air and a safe place for kids to run around in, but I am partial, so let's see what everyone thinks.

wish I could give 2Cute anther hug today, her completely distraught face and demeanour broke my heart

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 09:26

sfx, yeah totally know what you mean. it's a memory that will take a long time to fade.

hope we didn't give you our sniffles

i think the premier friends is about £70 unless there's an offer on but it'd be good if we could get the extra so she can take guests. i'm as partial as sfx on this one! as a single parent my kew membership is a lifeline. it's always somewhere i can go at weekends with dd and not feel quite so much family envy!

ele, i'm buying for 182k and my place was on at 187.5 originally.

tbh, they're being optimistic coz they're deffo not worth nearly 200k IMO.

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 09:30

premier friend individual is £57 and I'd be happy to put the extra in to make up what we have currently.

ComeOVeneer · 26/09/2007 09:46

Morning all. I think the kew membership is a good idea too. We are all coming down with colds here too. I think it is the change in the weather.
