For when the August thread runs out.

rosmerta · 02/10/2007 14:04

Hi slng, its in Ealing but I think to sell items you have to book in advance unfortunately.

Yingers, thanks, am off to get something this afternoon to help shift it a bit.

Kewcumber · 02/10/2007 14:18

I am around Sunday morning and part of Saturday as I try to meet my mum for a few hours on a weekend, I can usually move it around within reason.

What do you want to do Ele - I suppose it depends on the weather

sfxmum · 02/10/2007 14:47

oh my giddy aunt just saw someone with Christmas decs by the windowit is just so wrong.

must keep an eye on those NCT sales (she said optimistically no even being pregnant yet) anyhow mean to get a moses basket next time when ever that might be.

2 of my 4 cousins have just been in touch, we lost touch 16yrs ago, the eldest, 40 now has a 13yr old girl, the youngest, now 31 has a 6yr old and is expecting now. am gob smacked but happy always liked those 2 but happy to ignore the rest of the family

eleusis · 02/10/2007 16:10

Hmmm... what to do? Is it too cold for Kew? Find somewhere to feed ducks and have picninc?

I'm at a loss for indoor... ideas please. WE could do my house if people want to venture out to Sunbury.

Can we do Saturday afternoon? We are going to church and then church picnic on Sunday ('tis Harvest Sunday). Saturday we are going to the gym in the morning but should be out of there and ready for the day by 11:45.

ScaryScaryNight · 02/10/2007 16:11

Guys, what just happened, did Cod, Blu and LadyMuck really get banned????

Kewcumber · 02/10/2007 16:19

have no idea - why would they get banned?

lemonaid · 02/10/2007 16:25

What for?

I saw UCM getting banned last night (which was not an edifying sight) -- is this related?

Kewcumber · 02/10/2007 16:26

what was she banned for Lemon - her immigration thread a while ago was not a pretty sight though so it doesn't surprise me.

Paddlechick666 · 02/10/2007 16:29

god, i'm so blinkered into my west london thread and a couple of others i have no idea this stuff goes on!

how do you "watch" someone being banned?

sfxmum · 02/10/2007 16:35

was that about all the equal opportunities blasphemy threads? sorry but
amused

lemonaid · 02/10/2007 16:37

This one started off with "we should stop all immigration right now and fingerprint and DNA everyone in the country" then moved on to "if we aren't careful there will be a Muslim MP" then (when pointed out that there were, in fact, several Muslim MPs already) that in that case if we didn't watch out there would be twenty, and then apparently it was a matter of mere minutes until the entire country was under the sway of Sharia law and we were all having to wear burquas. Because apparently "they" are breeding faster than us and soon "Muslims will outnumber voters" [sic]. With various similar digressions along the way .

Then the thread got deleted, and then in true MN style there was a thread about the original thread, and then a couple of people got emails from UCM saying she'd been banned but wasn't sorry and wasn't going to change her opinions. And then UCM herself turned up under an alias (presumably using a different email address) to reiterate that. And then I think it got a bit personal, but I lost track...

sfxmum · 02/10/2007 16:39

now the BNP thread seems tame by comparison

can you tell I have spent too much time indoors lately

Kewcumber · 02/10/2007 16:40

how do I miss these car crash threads?

Actually its because I'm tucked up in bed and if UCM is true to fomr her wilder threads start after a drink or ten late in the evening.

eleusis · 02/10/2007 16:45

Oh jesus, I miss all the good stuff! Are these threads all deleted now?

lemonaid · 02/10/2007 17:07

I think, SSN, that Justine was just taking the piss on that one...

By JustineMumsnet on Tue 02-Oct-07 15:08:12 (from MNHQ)
Right that's it...

we're banning you Dullwitch for being a smartarse, Blu for sticking up for Dullwitch and Cod because then CD buys me a Mohito.

ps I'm not tetchy - that tetchy person is a namechanger

pps We're also banning you, LadyMuck for misuse of nickname change application.

...although it's been a very odd 24 hours on Mumsnet.

foxensteinscreature · 02/10/2007 18:15

Well I think its right that people should be banned on MN for inciting racial hatred.

There is a huge gulf between being inocently un-politically correct and peddling racist scaremongering - that's how facism started

Anyhow - when are you Grrls going to get into Character for the witching month?

Ele- Sat afternoon is best for me too and I'd love to see you as I feel we haven't had a good old chat since that day we spent 6 hrs together in Kew Gardens!

Rose - We need a basic baby walker. Mellow gave DS2 a lovely one but its a bit complicated for him - a cheapie very basic one would be great - oh and stairgates which fix by springs - as opposed to having to drill holes. I'd be grateful if you keep your eyees peeled and I can reimburse you.

CoV - LOL at your DH working at the station. We used to meet a friend in Kew Gardens a lot and eventually I realised that Ds1 truly believed that the family in question actually lived there!!

Am knackered - first day back in the office today. It was fine but DS2 had a temperature last night (first one sonce he was born and it was during the night before I return to work), plus I had to get up at 2am to bid on an Ebay item

I won it though!!!

ComeOVeneer · 02/10/2007 18:21

Foxie I have a stairgate like that in box never used I could lend you. I also have a door bouncer, and a stationary play zone thing if you are interested (my sister has the door bouncer and the play zone but is returning them shortly as she is done with them but I'm not ready to sell them just incase we have number 3).

ComeOVeneer · 02/10/2007 18:26

Like this

rosmerta · 02/10/2007 19:04

Ok foxie, I'll keep an eye out for a walker! How much are you willing to go up to just so I don't go wild

I usually miss all the good threads!

foxensteinscreature · 02/10/2007 19:24

Oooh yes please to thre stairgate Cov - will return it afterwards

The play station looks interesting - He might enjoy that!

Rose - one that he can whizz around on rather than one with lots of fancy bits. - may be £10/£15 - the more basic and simple the better though - mobility is more important than what it looks like Thanx

Kewcumber · 02/10/2007 20:15

Foxie - if Cov's stairgate doesn;t fit you can try mine as I'm going to take the one at the bottom of the stairs off as I've stopped using it. Also would like it back for same reasons as COv

ComeOVeneer · 02/10/2007 21:04

Foxy the play zone allows them to spin around using their legs. I bought it instead of a walker as we had stairs in our living area and was scared dd ould launch herself down the stairs.

foxensteinscreature · 02/10/2007 21:36

CoV - could I have a peak at the play thingy when we visit on 13th maybe (if you have it back by then obviously!!)/

Kew - Could I borrow your stairgate for the other end of the stairs as I will need one at top, one at bottom and possibly one to stop him climbing into loft!!! He is moving around a lot at the moment - like a wiggly worm but with a proper hairstyle

eleusis · 03/10/2007 06:24

Fox, I gave my walker to friend who I think is finished with it now. Do you want me check and see if she still has it?

I'm sure I have an extra stairgate or two around as well.

Kewcumber · 03/10/2007 09:54

sure foxie - I'll take it down Friday and bring it over with pirate stuff (coffee after work?)
