Foxie,
I clearly don't get out enough either.

Although we're going to a wedding reception for dh's colleague tomorrow evening and I'm getting all excited about it.

Your DDs are soooo cute!!! Yes, you were right about DD1 looking more European. All Anglo/Oriental siblings I know are the same, i.e. the first is more European looking and the second/third more oriental looking. Interesting, eh?

Watch out builders! Flirtatious Foxi & Minxy Mellow are about!

Foxi - I texted your old mobile, doh! Have got your new one now from the contact list.

QC - Really terribly sad about that little girl at the hospital. Fingers crossed for your mum's test results x

It's strange how ppl forget the past. So many things have been forgotten because they never made it to our history classes like the mass murder of masses of sikhs in 1919 ordered by a senior British Military Officer. Any muslim friend of mine has no idea about the massacre and rape of thousands of women and children in 19th century India by muslims beacause they refused to convert to Islam. Sadly there had been many incidents of these rapes in Birmingham during the 80's & early 90's until the police cracked down on it. I think it is very important to know what has happened in the past but not to let it negatively affect our relations with ppl today.

Right, enough about politics.

Mellow - Everything looks so good that I'm having difficulty deciding which samples! I'll let you know.

2cute,
That's really sad that it even happened in the 80s and 90s.

You can have a sample of everthing that looks good! Let me know.

morning all. Managed to do some studying last night, had to write ds's birth story which although I thought it was all ok it was actually quite upsetting. Nothing major, just things like in the week leading up to his birth I saw 8 different midwives, they didn't listen when I asked them not to cut the cord immediately and the whole feeding issue. I felt quite after writing it but I guess that's the whole point of doing it!

Anyway, sorry about that! Anyone up for a coffee this afternoon? Probably around 3.30-ish

good morning all

ros - funny how we carry those things around for yearsfor some of them it is all in a days work, for us can often be trauma for life, if not worst.
but writing something down is usually quite therapeutic.

on the cancer front, my sister is an oncology nurse and one of the downsides of hanging out with her is that she sometimes is upset about particularly heart breaking stories

ok cheerful mode now

rosmerta · 17/08/2007 09:35

I guess that's why they make us do it sfx, so we don't transfer all of that baggage onto our clients!

Right, am following sfx into happy mode

Foxie,
I forgot to bring dd's phone with me yesterday. I'll bring it round over the weekend together with some of dd's toys to see if you would like them.

Morning all

2cute - that's appalling! So much of colonial history has been deleted hasn't it? Its shocking how recently people have been subject to such uncivilised behaviour (and still are in some conflicts now).

Mellow - that's fine - thanx

sfx - did you wake up sane then?

I've reduced DS2's weaning foods as my boobs weren't adjusting v well - so last night he was back to waking me 2 hourly - screaming his head off (poor me and poor lodger who probably was regretting moving here). He woke up again this morning howling - only to be subdued by a spoonful of infant Nurofen and a carton of Little Stars yogurt!

He is a very determined little thing

I put some trousers on I'd washed and found 2 £10 notes in the pocket - all crisp and clean from the washing machine and clearly having benefitted from their excursion into fabbric conditioner Very relieved they didn't dissolve!

Hello, found you all

2Cute - pretty shocking these things still happen as late as the 90's

Ros - Good effort on writing your story, many women cannot even bear to think about theirs

Mellow - do you have any body butter samples? wouldn't mind trying first as my skin doesn't like creams that are too rich

Sushi - enjoy your trip, tell me if Thomas is any good. Hope it cures DS of his tantrums!

QC - have a great holiday!
Foxie - well done on finding the money intact!

Went to Bicester village yesterday, bit of a crime going there and not doing any shopping but it was great place to meet my friend who lives in B'ham and has a baby and a toddler. Great playground there followed by a nice lunch, and all 3 boys were well behaved .

Hi SJ,

The manufacturer doesn't ofer any samples per se but I could give you a sample in a little pot if you don't mind.

I could post it to you unless you're coming out Kew way sometime soon.

mellow, foxie, sushi, 2cute and sfx - thanks, too kind. My dds are 4 and 1 (2 in oct).

Sushi - I never knew that, I a cousin but he is an only child so have nothing to compare him with! That is weird. i guess it is all to do with that thing of making sure the dad knows the kids are his!!!

foxie - I once found some money in my bag and was well chuffed, I spent it on lunch with a friend and as soon as I parted with it I remembered it was the money from a playgroup which I was suppose to pass onto someone else - DOH!

Mellow - I can do Thursday morning if you are free.
Anyone else who fancies it is very welcome to come over to mine on Thursday.

Hello all.

lol, foxie. feeling rich now?

Ros, (without wishing to make you feel less cheerful), I saw at least 30 different midwives at Kingston, 10 before and 20 after the birth. They were all wonderful but lack of staff meant most of them didn't have time to read my medical notes properly. All I needed was proper rest/sleep (hadn't slept for four days!) but I was constantly woken up to feed/change DS. In the end, I asked to be discharged immediately despite I had low level of iron in blood. I blamed this for my failure to bf for a long time.

QC, How are you going to survive 10 days without MN!?

mellow2 · 17/08/2007 15:22

Hi yingers,

I can do Thu morning. What time is good for you? I didn't realise that dd2 is only 6 months older than my dd. They seem years apart when we met previously. The gap might be less apparent now as dd is walking.

Hi Mellow

I can come to Kew one day next week, when suits you? DS naps after lunch so morning or after nap would work for me. It will be nice to meet you . How old are you DC? Thanks

hello everyone

foxie - apparently the madness stayed since i just got back from London

we met up with sis and niece had a walk around the Gallery then went down to Westminster, never too early to teach about democracy.
when we went past Downing St i told her it's where the prime minister lives and she goes 'it's Gordon brown' shall not tell what we taught her to say about the last PM

mellow would most def' like to try the scrub and possibly the balm
