shiny new thread to sully.

OP posts:

It's a shame we can't post a link on the old thread.

Ros,
Nice to see you at story time. I think we'll try to go as long as I can remember when it is. I generally remember on Friday that we'd missed story time on Thu.

Sfx,
It was really weird bumping into you as I was saying to foxie. I was just thinking that I might bump into you and there you were!

SushiMummy · 16/08/2007 15:42

ha, found you!

lemonaid · 16/08/2007 15:48

Hello...

rosmerta · 16/08/2007 15:52

Ha ha, here you're all hiding!

Mellow - nice to see you and dd also. We go most weeks unless ds decides to have a longer nap. Today was a bit more chaotic than normal!

mellow2 · 16/08/2007 15:57

Hi sushi,

I've got the men's body wash in stock now.

mellow2 · 16/08/2007 15:58

Hi lemonaid,

How's your pg going? How far along are you now?

lemonaid · 16/08/2007 16:05

Still 6+6, so it's going very slowly...

Sick and tired, quite literally, but that won't last forever. I'm thinking about organising a private scan for a couple of weeks' time just to see how things are going in there (first NHS appointment/scan not until 20/24 September)

lemonaid · 16/08/2007 16:07

Not "Still 6+6" in the sense that I've been 6+6 for a while. That would be weird... more in the sense that after (what seems like) all this time I'm still only 6+6. The GP put me back half a week from where I thought I was, which I know didn't actually make me any less pregnant than I already was, but seemed to have that effect emotionally...

sfxmum · 16/08/2007 16:07

hello everyone

mellow I am flatteredi am usually very distracted so had to really bump into yiu to see you.

we dodged the rain and run around kew.

on the subject of atrocities my country has it's fair share.
once I was in some hostel and an American girl found out where I was from and started shouting and ranting on and on at me for the wrongs of my ancestors, bloody loony

Kewcumber · 16/08/2007 16:09

can a GP really be as accuarte as half a week at this stage lemon? [clueless emoticon] I though dating (wihtout a scan) was a bit of a dark (and innaccurate) art?

OP posts:
mellow2 · 16/08/2007 16:12

I am actually quite embarrassed that I don't understand all this dating talk.

lemonaid · 16/08/2007 16:13

I put my LMP date into a bunch of online thingies to get where I thought I was, but then the doctor put it into her plastic twiddly thingy and came up with a later date. So presumably the online and plastic thingies have different ideas (wouldn't be astonishing... ISTR hearing that the French count the length of a normal pregnancy as 41 weeks while we count it as 40 weeks, so there must be a certain amount of variation out there).

Kewcumber · 16/08/2007 16:15

who was talking on teh other thread about the distraction of ttc (probably sfx?). I feel for you. it was a nightmare having IVF and on my last attempt, which I had already decided was my last attempt, the world seemed to be full of pregnant women. (probably not a very appropriate comment straight after your post, lemon ).

Funnily I never had a problem with individual friends being pregnant but random women in M&S I did. The biggest problme I had was with freinds who had children who would say things to me like "they're really hard owrk you know"... thanks for that, maybe I won't bother now you've siad that

It is still a source of sadness to me that I will never be pregnant but a relief not to be trying anymore. And of course if I had got pregnant I would not have DS horrible thought!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/08/2007 16:15

regarding dating, my idea was more accurate than the GP, he went for average length of period instead of my info. it was confirmed at scan

rosmerta · 16/08/2007 16:17

Sfx, lol at american girl, as if they can be so proud of themselves!

rosmerta · 16/08/2007 16:18

The GP and midwife actually gave me two dates they thought ds was due, he was still late!

mellow2 · 16/08/2007 16:20

Sfx,
You'll have to tell me one day about the history between Americans and Portuguese.

The Chinese believe that you are pregnant for 10 months, just a wee bit longer than 41 weeks, so nobody would get flustered if you went over 40 wks in China!

sfxmum · 16/08/2007 16:23

ros - this was years ago when I was young, can't remember where in Europe I was, good pot i think.
I dislike prejudice and jingoism whoever from really.

KC - might have been me, I have never done IVF and we had decided early on not to take that route and go for adoption if unable to conceive last time, who knows if it would have been?

sfxmum · 16/08/2007 16:26

mellow - not much history apart from immigration etc. she meant what we did in Africa

mellow2 · 16/08/2007 16:28

She's obviously not aware of what the Americans did in the Far East.

mellow2 · 16/08/2007 16:47

Bump for those who haven't found it yet.

Kewcumber · 16/08/2007 16:47

pmsl at the idea of an american taking the moral high ground on treating foreign countries badly at the moment

IME just after having miscarriages virtually everyone I know turns out to be pregnant and due at around the same time I would have been (first time round two of my close schoolfriends and the wife of a colleague all gave birth within a month of my original due date; second time it's a couple of friends from work).

I think it's a conspiracy and the government secretly employs hordes of pregnant women and mothers of young babies to hang around stalking the infertile or those with other baby-related issues...
