Hello, I've posted a message on the local site for Brighton but now found this section on the topic list, so you may see a similiar message elsewhere - sorry just learning about mumsnet.
Anyway, I recently moved to Shoreham with my husband and daughter who will be 3 at the end of September. I absolutely love it here and would now like to get to know some other mums in the area. Let me know if you are local to me and would like to meet up - playground, coffee etc ..... Look forward to hearing from you

SunnySmiles · 20/08/2007 15:13

Ahh - not far away then! I haven't actually visited Steyning yet, just driven past but I've heard it's very nice! How many children do you have?

unny, just found her message here although have replied to your post on our meet ups site.

I'm in Lancing, just along from Shoreham....

Mine's alittle young for the playground, but coffee, walk along the prom or just a gossip suits me!

farmerted · 26/08/2007 15:05

Hello SunnySmiles (hello Mabs......I haven't been on MN in ages, hope all is well ), my daughter was three last week and we are often in Shoreham, love the beach there. I moved to Lancing last year (Hi Snuffle) and dd would love to meet some new friends (and me!).

There is quite a nice toddler group in Shoreham during term times and story time in the Library on Fridays.... otherwise I would love to meet for a coffee or a stroll.

Sherida · 27/08/2007 17:17

I'm Lancing too . Still pregnant, but looking for people to make this all less scarey!

SunnySmiles · 28/08/2007 11:29

Hi there - lovely to hear from you all and can't wait to meet everyone! I have my parents here this week and am working tomorrow and Thursday but will know soon when I am working next week (always changes!), so I'll send another little message tomorrow or Thursday to try and arrange a meet up !!! Yippee.

Hello again, looks like I am free Friday 7th or Friday 14th September. Does anyone fancy meeting up? What time works best for everyone? To narrow it down shall we say Friday 7th at 10.30 if people can make it. Now a venue??? We are so weather dependent I suppose. We could just agree on a Park and then keep our fingers crossed. Any thoughts????

snuffle · 31/08/2007 14:50

Sherida - I'm in lancing, got an 8th old, be happy to meet up, if I can help make it all seem less scary i'll try!

SunnySmiles · 04/09/2007 21:54

Hello Ladies, as you are both in Lancing would it be a good idea to meet in the little playground next to the beach in Lancing? The one with the car park at the front. Is that a good enough explanation? Do you know where I mean? At least the playground isn't too big there and we won't be all over the place unable to talk. There's a little cafe on the beach, so we could grab a drink from there and/or go for a stroll. Does 10.30 work for people this Friday? Any other ideas most welcome!!!! Rachael

Hi, i know where that is, its just down the road from my house!
Sadly can't make this friday... any day good for you next week as would love to meet up.
I work tues & thurs but mondays ok or weds afternoon as I take DD swimming in the morning.
Let me know and hope we can meet up soon.

SunnySmiles · 05/09/2007 21:35

No problem for me to change it to next Monday (10th Sept.), as no one else replied yet. I am taking Lily to her first tumble tots on the Monday morning but could do 2.30/3.00 that day? Would that be better?

farmerted · 07/09/2007 00:11

Hello - sorry I haven't been around. Would love to meet up too but probably working next Monday. Only free on Friday I think next week.

Fridays and Tuesdays generally best for me any other week so hope to meet you all at some point. I live near the beach too Snuffle - expect our paths have crossed! Enjoy tumble tots sunny...

snuffle · 07/09/2007 13:50

Monday good for me... 2.30ish ok??? Need to be home for about 4 to feed DD.

Seen you monday weather permitting.

Farmerted - Sure we have probably crossed paths somewhen, I work tues & thurs but most other days good for me, apart from weds morn when we go swimming.

SunnySmiles · 09/09/2007 20:18

Hi Snuffle see you 2.30 ish tomorrow p.m. then. Should think we will spot one another ok, as the park is usually quite quiet in my experience. I have dark brown bob length hair and my daughter has light brown shoulder length hair.
Farmerted would love to meet up with you too. I can do next Friday, 14th Sept if you like? Of course would be nice for us all to meet if possible?

snuffle · 10/09/2007 09:46

Cool, look forward to it.
You won't miss me I have a bright yellow buggy!!!

farmerted · 10/09/2007 10:13

Hello again, Friday would be great but can only make it after 12pm, happy to come to Shoreham for a coffee, a new cafe has just opened up and seems very child friendly, maybe we could try that? Are you about Snuffle?

Nice day for a stroll by the beach...have fun!

SunnySmiles · 10/09/2007 22:26

Farmerted - looks like I have to work on Friday now - Boooo. Will probably be getting back to Shoreham around 3 ish but my daughter will most likely be exhausted by then, so think I will have to postpone our meet up unfortunately. Should we try to meet up the following Friday, 21 Sept?

OP posts:
snuffle · 11/09/2007 17:30

farmerted - Sorry I have changed work days this week as we have a stand at th airshow this weekend and I'm having to set-up friday.

When's everyone free next week???

farmerted · 13/09/2007 14:33

Next week I will work mon, tues and maybe wed/thurs - not quite decided but Friday will be the best day for me again I think, will update you. We'll get together at some point I hope! What sort of stand do you have Snuffle?

herbiemom · 13/09/2007 15:24

Welcome to Shoreham, Sunnysmiles. I've lived here for 3 years now and I love it. I have 2 boys - one is just 4 and started school this week (sob!) and the other is 3 in October.

I'd love to meet up with you guys - Mondays & Fridays are best for me and I'm now restricted by the bloomin school run but if you're planning to meet up and I can make it, I'd like to come along.

SunnySmiles · 13/09/2007 22:48

Hi again - Great to meet you the other day Snuffle!

Thanks for your message Herbiemom. Glad someone else Loves Shoreham - my friends and family are sick of hearing me say how much I love it!! Bet its been a quiet week for you with only one boy at home.

Looking like Fridays is a good day for us all to meet up, so lets go for next Friday, 21 Sept. As Herbiemom has school runs, should we try and do a morning meet up? Say around 10.00 or 10.30?

Again, any suggestions where to meet? We could go to a park - Adur or Buckingham or I don't mind people coming to my house, as long as they take me as they find me - still DIY jobs going on and on and on ..... Any preferences???

OP posts:
herbiemom · 14/09/2007 16:19

I'm happy to meet in one of the parks if the weather's ok. Buckingham Park has a nice little cafe - I don't mind really.

I'm being harrassed big time by my other half who wants to use the computer so have to go but will check back to see what everyone decides on.

SunnySmiles · 14/09/2007 16:32

Lets say 10.30 in Buckingham Park then and if it is awful weather we can always change plans. Looking forward to it!!!!!! Hope everyone else can make it too ....

snuffle · 17/09/2007 09:02

Hi guys.... good to meet you too sunny.

Lived on the south coast all my life and love it too, but probably take that fact for granted as I haven't lived in the smoky city, so nothing to compare it too

Won't be able to meet up this week, too much else going on, for some reason life's turned mad!!!

I work for a local motor dealer so we had some of our cars on display at the airshow.

Well hope the weather holds for you all this week and hope to catch up with all or some of you soon!

farmerted · 19/09/2007 22:38

Hi there - we can come! is Buckingham, park the one near the hospital?? (being lazy, no doubt I could look it up).
