Hello, I've posted a message on the local site for Brighton but now found this section on the topic list, so you may see a similiar message elsewhere - sorry just learning about mumsnet.
Anyway, I recently moved to Shoreham with my husband and daughter who will be 3 at the end of September. I absolutely love it here and would now like to get to know some other mums in the area. Let me know if you are local to me and would like to meet up - playground, coffee etc ..... Look forward to hearing from you

Shall we just go for the usual then? Sounds like it will suit everyone best. Buckingham Park at 10.30? I'm happy

Hi Sunny... sorry only just read the posts, sorry... couldn't have done this morning anyway as we had weigh clinic... now a healthy 21lb 2oz!

farmerted.... no rpobs re next week but catch up to take in some sea air sounds like a plan... its a lovely walk to widewater, although not sure so sure its a pretty as the summertime!

I'll check here for available days but I work Tues & Thurs and take my little girl swimming wed mornings, but other then that normally free.

Sherida · 27/10/2007 22:26

Sorry I haven't been about, have been very ill! Thanks for the offer Snuffle, I'd love to meet up with anyone and everyone here coz you all seem so nice!

totallyfloaty35 · 29/10/2007 07:45

Hi i would like to meet up too,i just moved from Shoreham to Worthing but im in Shoreham everyday as still have to take my older dd to school

farmerted · 30/10/2007 14:27

Look forward to seeing you all sometime! Maybe next week?? What is everyone up to?

Just a quick post as looking at schools for dd next year, have spoken to Hebie about this but wondered if anyone else can help me decide on schools in the shoreham area - do you have any views totallyfloaty (positive or negative!)??

totallyfloaty35 · 30/10/2007 16:04

Shoreham 1st school is lovely and i do believe they keep them til they are 11yrs mow,my older 2 both loved it there and cried there eyes out on leaving. The 2 church schools are very good, but can be hard to get into and you do have to go to church to get in,avoid Buckingham at all costs, the amount of bullying that goes on there is ridiculous

herbiemom · 31/10/2007 13:03

I'm glad to hear you say that about Shoreham 1st totallyfloaty - DS1 has just started in reception there and so far I'm really impressed.

snuffle · 31/10/2007 18:04

Farmerted... about mon & wed pm... probably taking DD swimming wed morning you fancy that?

farmerted · 31/10/2007 23:23

Hello again - thanks for the advice tf, really helpful.

Snuffle - unfortunately now have to work mon-thurs, only around Friday. I think you have the clinic in the morning - how about late afternoon Friday? Are you around Sherida? Hope you are feeling better now.

Otherwise I can make a trip to the park/cafe Friday morning next week.... any takers??

totallyfloaty35 · 02/11/2007 07:49

I can do fri mornings, have to drop child at school anyway so can pretty much do any mornings, from about 9ish

snuffle · 02/11/2007 15:56

Not sure about friday yet, will depend on whether other half doing overtime or not.

Will let you know.

PrincessGoodLife · 02/11/2007 16:05

ladies... just a little hijack because the thread title prompted me that it might be worth asking you. Very slim chance but here goes...

I used to work with a guy called Richard between 2002 and 2003. Can't quite remember his surname even though we shared an office and we got on quite well. Anyway, his wife very sadly died (cancer and other complications) in 2003, leaving him alone with a DD and DS, who would be about 7/8 and 5/6 by now. We lost touch. I only had his email after he left the company suddenly (due to his wife dying). Anyway, the point of this is that IF any of you have heard or him or know him, maybe your kids go to the same school or something, then maybe it could somehow help me get back in touch withh him. I would just like to know how he is and how the kids are after all this time really.

Long shot but worth a try.
TIA

Sherida · 02/11/2007 16:45

I'm around most afternoons and any time on a Monday. I'm beginning to get there Farmerted thank you for asking!

PrincessGoodLife · 02/11/2007 16:47

PrincessGoodLife · 02/11/2007 16:48

totallyfloaty35 · 07/11/2007 14:01

i pop in sometimes as its the only cafe that seems to open before 10am in Shoreham

herbiemom · 08/11/2007 12:15

Hi totallyfloaty! I'm here! Don't know about everyone else...

I'm 'child-free' tomorrow morning and may treat myself to a cuppa in Toast after the school run if you're around (or anyone else?).

farmerted · 08/11/2007 15:19

Hi everyone, I like the sound of a cafe for a change tomorrow morning - too exhausted to go to a park. was up until 5am trying to get some work finished last night and now in London sitting zombie-like at my desk. Hope you are all well.

Unfortunately I can't make Friday pm now but doesn't look as if yuo are around snuffle and sherida?? How about next week?

[Princess - sorry can't help - I think most of us live outside of Shoreham or are quite new to the area}.

Tortington · 08/11/2007 15:20

hello farmerted you georgous thing you - are you coming to xmas do in brighton or the one in london?

herbiemom · 08/11/2007 15:38

Well, I'll be in Toast then tomorrow from about 9.15am if anyone's around? Is that too early for you Farmerted given that you have the luxury of a child that doesn't wake before sunrise ?

totallyfloaty35 · 08/11/2007 15:40

great i will be there from 9am,i have got a lot of dark hair and im short {grin] will also be child free

herbiemom · 08/11/2007 15:44

Wow, totallyfloaty - we'll be able to have a conversation without being interrupted! I'm quite giddy at the thought of it!

I'm short too with lots of longish curly hair and huge dark bags under my eyes!!

farmerted · 08/11/2007 17:24

What do you mean Herbie? will be up bright and early at 7.45 (fingers crossed). Not actually sure when the sun comes up.

Will see you there and hopefully Sunny will appear with DD to entertain my one or I will have to sit elsewhere so you can talk.

Hey Custy, most certainly would like to come - will come over to the Brighton link a bit later as train to catch

herbiemom · 08/11/2007 18:56

I texted Sunny to let her know in case she hasn't had a chance to get on MN so hopefully we'll see her tomorrow.

SunnySmiles · 08/11/2007 23:01

Hello everyone back in the lovely shoreham and on mumsnet again - Can't believe how busy you've all been on here.
I'll be in Toast by the Coast tomorrow morning and looking forward to a catch up with you all and meeting you Totallyfloaty35! I also have dark brown hair. I'll be the one with noisy 3 year old daughter with me.
Sherida - great to see you back on mumsnet but sorry to hear you've been unwell. Hope we get to meet you soon.
Sorry princessgoodlife - can't help you with your search. Good luck though.
