Hello, I've posted a message on the local site for Brighton but now found this section on the topic list, so you may see a similiar message elsewhere - sorry just learning about mumsnet.
Anyway, I recently moved to Shoreham with my husband and daughter who will be 3 at the end of September. I absolutely love it here and would now like to get to know some other mums in the area. Let me know if you are local to me and would like to meet up - playground, coffee etc ..... Look forward to hearing from you

Hello - Great news that you can also join us Farmerted. Yes, Buckingham Park is on the Upper Shoreham Road. It is on your left as you head out of Shoreham towards the hospital. How to recognise one another .... Shall we meet in the playground. I have got dark brown hair in a bob shape. My daughter has got light brown hair and no doubt will be in something pink. Look forward to meeting you all. Sunnysmiles

Agree the playground is a good place to meet. I'm quite short with longish, curlyish hair and my little boy has rather wild, untamed strawberry blonde (well, alright - it's ginger!) hair.

Should we make a plan B in case it's raining as it's not looking too good at the moment. I can't really have anyone at mine as DP is working nights and will be sleeping - maybe we could meet at Teddy's cafe or the one next door (think it's called Toast by the Coast) if it's too grim for the park?

farmerted · 20/09/2007 19:00

Either option is fine by me, both cafes are quite child friendly..... but how to decide where to go - how bad does the weather have to get!

Shall we decide in the morning by say 9.30? I'm short too(!) Me and dd have blonde hair - mine tied back and dd's a messy curly affair.

herbiemom · 20/09/2007 19:13

I'll check on here tomorrow then after the school run and see what everyone wants to do if the weather's looking iffy.

SunnySmiles · 20/09/2007 19:39

All sounds good to me. I'll check in the morning too around 9.30. Haven't been in toast by the coast but it has a nice sofa area I noticed today, which could be useful if we are to stay in a while with the little ones! There's always fuzzy felts and crayons to keep them amused, which I can bring along. Fingers crossed for dry weather though. Looking forward to it ....

Hi Guys, I'm happy to give the park a go if everyone else is?

OP posts:
farmerted · 21/09/2007 09:38

Great - see you at 10.30. Do you know if there is a bus from Shoreham station? Can't be bothered with my bike today!

herbiemom · 21/09/2007 09:39

Fine with me! I'll be there 10.30ish - probably pushing DS on a swing.

herbiemom · 21/09/2007 09:44

Sorry farmerted - only just seen your last message. I don't know if any buses go past the park from the station - the only bus I ever get is the no.2 but it doesn't go past the park. It's only about a ten minute walk to the park if you can't get a bus.

See you in a while.

SunnySmiles · 21/09/2007 09:51

Sorry - only just logged back on. Don't know about buses either. Would have given you a lift if I'd known but our spare car seat is in my husbands car. Hope you find it ok. See you soon.

Hi Herbiemom and Farmerted, just wanted to say thank you for coming along today. We really enjoyed meeting you all! Shall we pencil in Friday 5th October for our next meet up then. We will be in Scotland most of that week, so I might not get chance to log on until the Thursday evening but I will put it in my diary and we will definitely be around! Hope Isaac has a good birthday in the meantime.
Snuffle - hope you can join us next time and that your clinic visit went well this morning.
Bye for now - enjoy your weekends

farmerted · 21/09/2007 22:54

Hi HM and SS, lovely to meet you all too!

Just noticed that i have planned a long weekend away from the 4th Oct so would only be able to make the following week . Hope to catch up with you all soon.

herbiemom · 22/09/2007 20:38

Hi Sunnysmiles and farmerted - it was great to meet you and your gorgeous girls on Friday.

I'm free on Friday 5th Oct and the following Friday to meet up again - maybe we could make Friday mornings a regular thing if that's a good time of the week for everyone and accept that there will sometimes be someone who can't make it?

It would be lovely to meet you too Snuffle and any others in the area.

farmerted · 25/09/2007 11:56

Hi Herbie, Friday meet-ups sound like a good plan! Am next available on the 12th so hope to see some of you then.

Might be in Shoreham next Tuesday (am) if you fancy a quick coffee anyone?

SunnySmiles · 25/09/2007 22:51

Hello - Friday meet ups is a fab idea!!! I can do the 5th and 12th at the moment. Can't do next Tuesday unfortunately though, as we will be in Scotland. ttfn x

herbiemom · 26/09/2007 10:03

I can't do next Tuesday either as I always work on a Tuesday.

Do you want to meet on 5th Sunnysmiles and Snuffles (and anyone else, of course!)?

SunnySmiles · 27/09/2007 11:56

Hi there, yes 5th is good for me. It's in my diary! I'll be away from tomorrow until late Thursday night on the 4th but we will definitely join you. Shall we say 10.30 meet again. I'll log on first thing Friday 5th morning to see if you've decided where to meet. I'm happy with Buckingham again if it suits everyone? Looking forward to it.

herbiemom · 27/09/2007 15:05

Hi again Sunny! 10.30 in Buckingham Park is fine with me (weather permitting, of course).

See you there! Any other takers?

SunnySmiles · 28/09/2007 08:21

Great - see you there then. If it is raining, shall we try 'toast by the coast'. I went in this week and it has a little table and play area to keep the kiddies amused but fingers crossed for dry weather.
