Hello, I've posted a message on the local site for Brighton but now found this section on the topic list, so you may see a similiar message elsewhere - sorry just learning about mumsnet.
Anyway, I recently moved to Shoreham with my husband and daughter who will be 3 at the end of September. I absolutely love it here and would now like to get to know some other mums in the area. Let me know if you are local to me and would like to meet up - playground, coffee etc ..... Look forward to hearing from you

thanks farmerted and sunnysmiles
it was worth a go
it would help if I could remember his surname though - it's been on the tip of my tongue for months! frustrating!

Hi Guys, sorry not been about for a while, the weeks just seem to fly by now!

About next week, not tues or Thursday if anyone wants to meet up???

SunnySmiles · 15/11/2007 20:32

Hi Snuffle - nice to hear from you. Hope all is well with you. I think we are going to try and meet up again on Friday, 23rd November if you are around. Will make plans nearer the time I guess via mumsnet but it seems to be mornings we generally meet up. Anyone else around then???
Hope everyone got their housework done last week. I did and then had my friend stay an extra night over the weekend, which was fun but then an unexpected visit from a friend with her husband and 2 kids for two nights this week - its been a full house but lovely too. Work tomorrow - Boo!

I'm at work today too - I don't normally work on a Friday and it feels so wrong!

It would be nice to meet you, Snuffle - hope you can make it next Friday morning when I will yet again be guiltily avoiding my housework duties.

snuffle · 16/11/2007 11:06

Missed first 15 mins, so had no idea what was going on for most of it - weird?! Will prob watch again though for entertainment value.

ok c u there x

SunnySmiles · 24/11/2007 11:04

Hello there - good to see you all yesterday and to swap stories, made me feel more normal that's for sure! Just to put the icing on the cake I fell over flat on my front outside Boots in Brighton this morning on my way to work in Halls. Ouch my knees and elbows hurt - sod the embarrassment. Had to console myself with a new top and a large Mocha. Feel much better now. Anyway, totallyfloaty hope your baby is feeling better now. If you want a lighthearted read, this is the book I mentioned Farmerted - Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife by Niamh Greene. Very funny and lighthearted. Snuffles - think you might like it, as I know you are Sophie Kinsella fan, so think we probably have the same taste. Happy to loan it out when I've finished it. Also, just to mention the Shoreham Christmas Festival is on Tuesday 27th November. This is from the shoreham by sea website - there will be a variety of live music, including Jazz, a Samba Band, Kiddies dance, and a Silver Band. There will also be fairground rides, a bouncy castle, festive gift and food stalls, street entertainers, the official switching on of the Christmas Lights, and even a Santa?s grotto. Local businesses will be staging a Christmas window dressing competition ? to be judged by the public. Maybe see you there. Sunnysmiles - although feeling a little less Sunny today after my fall -

Hi Guys, sorry I missed the meet up, weigh clinic ok, DDs still putting on lots of weight but were teething again so feeling miserable and have bouts of hysterical crying, poor thing.

Hope to catch up with you all soon, whether it'll be this side of xmas remains to be seen as time appears to fly by at the moment yet I feel I have achieved very little!

herbiemom · 27/11/2007 10:30

Unless it's raining, we're going to head into Shoreham this evening at 5ish to check out the Xmas festival. Hope to see you there Sunny - is anyone else going?

farmerted · 06/12/2007 21:27

Hello everyone, how's it going? Anyone around for a coffee tomorrow? Don't think the park is an option! I'm working next Friday and then it is practically Christmas so come on girls...

SunnySmiles · 09/12/2007 22:57

Hi there, sorry we couldn't meet you on Friday Farmerted. Lily is finally starting to recover now. It's been a horrible cough/cold she's had and I was trying to avoid everyone. Anyway, I am also working this Friday and would really love to see everyone before Christmas arrives. I could do Wed 19th or Thurs 20th if any good for you guys in the day? Alternatively, do we have time to arrange a little drinkies night in Shoreham? Again for me best dates would be 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st Dec. Any takers ..................

Hi guys - we've been ill too so have been 'in hiding'. Nasty coughs around this year that seem to linger on and on and on...

My last day at work before Xmas is next Tuesday so I could meet next Wed or Thurs during the day (need to fit around school concerts, etc though) and drinks one evening would be lovely - Tuesday or Thursday best for me.

Is everyone feeling festive then? I was doing really well and had bought most of my presents and then got ill and now I'm in a panic as it's only 2 weeks to go. The tree's up though so we're getting there.

Hope to see you next week.

farmerted · 16/12/2007 23:59

Hi guys, my plans to have a nice weekend were cancelled - other half was ill (how dare he!). Anyway, Edie and I still going strong.

Might be able to make wed am but not Thurs for a coffee. Could def make Tues or Thurs evening for a drink however, think Tuesday actually better but maybe a bit short notice now? Off to Wales Friday so hopefully we can fit something in before then... anyone else around, TotallyF? Snuffle? Sherida?

Tortington · 17/12/2007 10:06

SunnySmiles · 09/01/2008 22:41

Hello and Happy New Year!!! Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. Is anyone around Friday morning for a meet up -maybe at Buckingham Park?

OP posts:
farmerted · 10/01/2008 22:09

Happy New Year! All feeling refreshed I hope . Buckingham Park sounds like a good idea - how does 9.30 sound?

SunnySmiles · 10/01/2008 22:45

Sorry only just seen your text. Will have to text you in the morning. Things gone a bit pear shaped here. Lily not been too well but only a cold. I let her have a sleep this afternoon - well basically I didn't have a choice she was out for the count! The consequence is that she has only just gone to sleep?!?!?!? Most unusal. So, I will have to see what time she wakes up. I will text you though. Fingers crossed, as would like to meet!

OP posts:
snuffle · 16/01/2008 18:39

hey guys, happy new year.. sorry its a little late, DDs not been very well.

Any news on a meet up?

SunnySmiles · 17/01/2008 22:14

Hello again all - sorry we missed your message Snuffle. Hope DDs is better now. I am working tomorrow but hoping we can rally a few people to meet up soon. I will know tomorrow what days I'm working over the next few weeks, so will log on over the weekend and send a quick note. Great weather for Ducks don't you think!?!?!?
