Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

Kew - Ok what time are you picnicking tomorrow then? I can bring a huge cake and Cava if you like

Sorry Kew, I couldn't get Colin The Caterpillar but have a bigger one with "vanilla buttercream" on [yum]

Re Saturday - Oxo that just sounds right up my street - I lurve posh old eccentrics - where can I park?

Re. Monday - unlikely as am still tied to Monti - plus have made an informed decision to become an aneorexic

mellow - I have sensitive skin and get pissed of when people buy me smellies so anywhere that sticks natural goodies (i.e. not full of crap like Body Shop stuff) is a magnet for me at Christmas. Think Occitane..(not the "Oik repellent" though . I prefer to pay more for something small and subkime, than pay less for more crap if that makes sense. BTW lavendar is lovely and very popular in my family

foxcub · 25/07/2007 21:20

My dad has forgotten DD's birthday - what an utter pig he is

and DH nearly ate my veggie cornish pastie from waitrose (taste just like real Cornish ones) - I found it on his plate smothered in tomato kechup!!

foxcub · 25/07/2007 21:21

Kew - hope little DS is OK

SushiMummy · 25/07/2007 21:24

QC, is Gherkin-kun alright? Or did he eat too much weetabix? Anyway, don't you work Mon-Thur?

foxcub · 25/07/2007 21:25

whispers

sfxmum · 25/07/2007 21:35

hi all

nanou - that sounds awful bullying at work and pre move troubles just not good, please send her some huge hugs.

paddle - what can i say hang in there.

is there a picnic tomorrow? did i miss something? is it not supposed to be poring?

mellow - i quite like candles proper long lasting ones.
the only people i trust with body creams for me are dh and his mum, both good nose and in her case an account at J.Malone it seems, bless her

had teen niece around this pm, fantastic entertainment for toddler in rainy afternoon. much relieved and relaxed mum

sfxmum · 25/07/2007 21:35

oh and gherkin hope it was just the once

eleusis · 25/07/2007 21:40

Oh, I hope the pickle is better. Maybe he has the stomach bug that my nanny had. I think after she threw up she was suddenly recovered. So hopefully he'll sleep it off and be all better tomorrow.

Paddle, Fine! Don't come then.

SushiMummy · 25/07/2007 21:42

love candles from penhaligons and dyptyque but the smell can be overwhelming.

Kewcumber · 25/07/2007 21:43

"I was referring to the MN london picnic in Hyde Park on Sunday."
Sunday Sunday Bloody SUnday! Do you people not read my posts [huffy emoticon]

Gherkin-kun seems fine is sound asleep so probably not anything serious. And maybe linked to his tea which apaprently consisted of rice pudding and ice cream

Kewcumber · 25/07/2007 21:43

bloody mother never fed me ice cream and rice pudding for tea...

sfxmum · 25/07/2007 22:20

thats what grand parents are for stop being jealous

foxcub · 25/07/2007 22:50

Right so I have Steppy and Mellow coming tomorrow for a small picnic/cava/cake fest, then in the evening I'm at Kew's (with you Paddle)to finish off the cake

That's sorted then

Mellow/Steppy - will text you after the morning weather forecast

ComeOVeneer · 25/07/2007 22:52

Have a lovley day foxy (fingers crossed the weather holds) Is it for dd's birthday? Will be thinking of you as I am up to my eyes in cardboard boxes and cobwebs in the garage

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 26/07/2007 09:29

yes, kew..did think the weetabix seemed to be superglued to the dear boy's scalp as i ruffled his hair..

that's what grans are for, isn't it? when i ask my mum why she let dd eat loads of biscuits, she invariable replys something like:'oh, she wouldn't let me take them off her." oi you:adult dd:small child == you're in charge!

or the old chestnut:'won't do her any harm."
but it's all balance, isn't it? she's not with mum every day..

foxie..was the colin the caterpillar no-show sentence meant for me not kew? or is kew a long-term devotee of colin, too.
yep, txt me to let me know a time and a place. presuming it's in the afternoon.

off to take the crew to my cm now as have finally admitted defeat in trying to get some work finished off with them any where near the house
have a fab day, all
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 26/07/2007 09:42

mellow - bath oils and candles. lovely, lush (not to steal a trradename) gorgeous nthings you'd never buy for yourself but would love as a pressie..
i like lavendar, too, foxie. neroli is the best, though

kew - ice cream and rice pudding sounds fab, btw. is ds ok today?

mellow2 · 26/07/2007 11:40

Thanks for all the feedback, ladies.

I've made lots of notes.

Sushi and foxie,
I have super-sensitive skin since I was pg. I break out in hives/eczema if I use anything that is not all natural and has synthetic chemicals. That's why I switched to all natural/organic skincare.

All the skincare stuff I sell is either natural/organic which means no nasties. Most beauty products contain syntethics like SLS (detergent in bath soaps/shower gels) and parabens (preservatives) that irritate skin.

Okay lecture over.

Starry,
Sorry, my supplier only stocks candles containing fragrant essential oils. Do natural essential oils irritate your nose too? I find I can't stop sneezing if I smell synthetic perfumes but not essential oils.

For those of you who voted for creams and candles, what do you think of these? The smells are heavenly but I'm not about the prices.

Organic shea butter

Candles

mellow2 · 26/07/2007 11:42

Foxie,
Have you checked the weather?

sfxmum · 26/07/2007 11:48

hi everyone

mellow i think the prices are ok but the candle seems to have a wide mix of scents. i like vetiver / bergamot less heady floral more zing

gosh i am talking rubbish

been sorting through dd's toy boxes she now insists on playing with old rattles

mellow2 · 26/07/2007 11:55

Sfx,
The mix might seem odd but they combine really well. I think the smell is gorgeous myself.

They are not as strong smelling as Jo Malone though. I used to be a big fan of JM until I got pg. Now, my skin itch when I use JM perfumes.

I still have 3 bottles of JM perfume. I got suckered into their sales pitch to combine fragrances.

mellow2 · 26/07/2007 11:55

itches even

SushiMummy · 26/07/2007 11:56

Mellow, your products sound wonderful. I might buy one or two. Can you bring some body cream/lotion next time we meet, please? Do you also have products for cellulite?

sfxmum · 26/07/2007 11:59

yes i think the mix balances on second look.

JM can be quite strong it is true, am a big fan of Miller Harris too

i like body creams but for everyday i like it more liquid and lovely oils

SushiMummy · 26/07/2007 12:00

BTW, when I'm stressed or sleep deprived I get eczema on my neck and eyelids. Never had this before having DS.

SushiMummy · 26/07/2007 12:07

what's your policy on animal testing, mellow? sorry, it's just something I always check..
