Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

oh dear.
will have to drink yours too then.

or - whatw as it you said on the other thread 'train and taxis ladies' jeeze!

eleusis · 27/07/2007 17:40

I would actually be prepared to go home and public transport. The trouble is how would I get to work on Tuesday morning?

xoxo · 27/07/2007 19:13

errrrrrrr. train/ tube?

I would offer a night here but dh's cousin is here (hence the need to get night out)

foxcub · 27/07/2007 22:52

Oxo - don't have your address so will text you tomorrow what time are you going? Kew let me know if you want to come and I can drive if we go the same time. I intend to go for 1pm, which in practice means 3pm

Where is the venue for Monday then????

If its a restaurant its a No No is its a house, a Yes Yes - basically so I can bring Monti 'cos I can't be arsed expressing myself and can't be arsed faffing around in a restaurant with a wee one in buggy....

Talking of which took the three DCs to a mega work BBQ and Disco today. 'Twas fabby. BF in front of 400 colleagues and was a bit nervous but got loads of nice comments and the Development Director (woman) scooped DS2 up after his feed to rock him to sleep - then carried him to the car for me afterwards for the drive home The other two lurved it and had two ice creams and lots of goes on bouncy castle

MY Boss didn't turn up - probably scared

eleusis · 28/07/2007 09:59

Monday is at Fatboys. So, it's a restaurant.

eleusis · 28/07/2007 10:00

Oh, and Oxo, there are way too many trains required to get from my houseto work. It takes too long. So have to drive.

foxcub · 28/07/2007 10:29

Oh OK - will give it a miss then. I have woken this morning with na sore engorged boob Me maintaining my modesty last night at my work do while BF DS2 seems to have been at the expense of acheiving a good latch. The left side was painful when he fed last night and now is all screwed up! This is why I hate BF in public - just cannot do it skillfully and discreetly.

Oxo - will text you and try and pop down between frequent feeds and hot compresses

sfxmum · 28/07/2007 10:53

morning all

as this seems to be the best day for sun we are off to Kew with a picnic

foxie hope not more boob trouble, did you see the thread about redheads and bf troubles? did not really read it but bit

have a lovely day all

foxcub · 28/07/2007 11:04

No - was that a recent thread sfx? Completely missed that one!

sfxmum · 28/07/2007 11:12

see you found it

foxcub · 28/07/2007 12:06

yes and just found Mrs John Cusack who used to be a west Londoner - didn't realise she was a red head

Kewcumber · 28/07/2007 13:16

I know MtsJC - have met her - very nice lasy - more of a strawberry blnd I owuld say.

Big news - had my first night away from DS last night. Good friedn who lives in Brighton came up and mum was babysitting so we could go out for dinner and offered to have him overnight.

Worked OK though very very odd without him (even asleep in the cot) mind you I was over there at 8.30am to pick him up! Could lie in this monring but did spend an hour at 6.30 readin a book.

Would love to go today foxie but DS is exhausted as he didn't go to sleep until nearly 10pm . If he's up by about 3.30 I might come over for the last hour.

foxcub · 28/07/2007 13:24

LOL at you Kew turning up at 8.30am to collect your lovely DS!!

Oxo have lost my phone but thanx for the text this morning. DS2's next feed is 2.30 so may try and head down to your do after that - although DD says she is very tired.

Will review when DS has had his feed

Now where is my phone...

foxcub · 28/07/2007 15:17

Oh dear, just heard DD call DS1 "you little basket!"

Kewcumber · 28/07/2007 19:43

I woner where he heard that foxie?

Quick straw poll for those of you with DC's around 18months-2+

When do you give them milk before bed ie how long before bad. I currently give DS milk immediately beofre bed but am thinking of moving it a bt earlier say before bath or maybe half before bath half after. I htink perhaps a large cup of milk is too much for him now immediately before bed and I suspect it is giving him the energy to stay awake? Any views?

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2007 20:27

KC, ds (now 2.5) still has milk before bed. He has it at about 6.30 after his bath, then cleans his teeth and bed, doesn't seem to have any adverse effects. Will only look to stopping it when he no longer wears nappys at night time.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 28/07/2007 20:36

yes but I do bath time at 7 so he ends up having milk at 7.20ish so is perhaps a bit late?

SushiMummy · 28/07/2007 20:43

DS has milk before bed (7.30-ish) in a bottle . He drinks about 500 mils of SMA progress a day.

Bought Richmond & Twickenham Times to see Mellow's article but can't find it. Well, it's full of flood news so maybe next week..?

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2007 20:50

Sushi, are you free on the 13th of October for the meet up at mmy place? Foxy can't do the 20th (which was the other date most people have put down for) and has requested the 13th. I would love for both of you to make it if possible.

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 28/07/2007 20:57

CoV, just confirmed with DH and it should be alright, I think. DH's niece's 21st do in Manchester has been cancelled (she wants 500 quid cash instead) which he forgot to tell me. How is the kitchen coming along?

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2007 21:01

Brilliant, the 13th it is then .

They delivered the new kitchen at 7.30am this morning . I spent the day boxing up the contents of the old kitchen and dh took us all out for dinner. We are getting a take away tomorrow and packing for the children. My parents arrive on Mon morning to take the children away and the builders start ripping out the old kitchen then. I have all of mon/tues/wed to myself (yay).

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 28/07/2007 21:08

Sounds exciting! Can't wait to see the kitchen in October! Are you having an Aga? We had our kitchen fitted 5 years ago and it already looks dated, I still love the granite work top, tho.

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2007 21:11

No aga. We are having a 5 ring hob (with a special wok burner) a larg integrated oven and an integrated combined microwave/secong oven. Fab tap in the sink with an extendable hose/shower attachment, and a huge american style fridge freezer with ice and cold water facility. We opted for granite in our last kitchen but dh put his foot down on the expense this time.

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 28/07/2007 21:16

Wow! Sounds fab!! We have a 5 ring gas hob with the wok burner in the middle, too. They are great!
